Howdy everyone,
The library was busy this am. I am finally able to get a break. Sounds like everyone had a great time watching survivor last night. I really don't watch much t.v. I am just finishing "The Clan of the Cave Bear". Very much in survival mode.
Tonight's dinner is still not thought of yet. I enjoy everyone's response to the other thread. We have some great cooks here.

Morning Kacee!
DD is still home with me..she never ate anything but crackers yesterday, so I just didn't feel comfortable sending her to school. She just woke up and is definitely perkier, but her eyes are still a little sunken in looking, so I will be pushing the liquids today.
Think they are putting up the crown moulding today.

Hi all. We are at my bil in the city right now. DD#1 is dancing in a Highland Competition tomorrow am, bright and early. We have to be there by 8am!
Ds is sick, but made the trip with us....hopefully he won't get too much of this flu. It seems to be the headache/cough/overall lousy feeling flu.
Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Keep your fingers crossed for dd tomorrow....we are hoping for a few medals coming home with her!
Catch you all when we get back home Sunday night.
:)

Addicted Ann....not me! LOL Actually now we are at my brother's place (just outside of the city) to spend tonight, then home tomorrow.
DD did really good....she danced beautifully and out of 5 dances, she placed 8th in one of them and 4th in one other! Not as good as she has done at other competitions, but still pleased.
Our dancers that attended this competition (8 out of the club's eighteen) brought home 14 medals!!! Their dance teacher was thrilled...as were us moms!
See, I'm not addicted....I'm not even a regular member yet! LOL
See you all again when we get home....honestly, I will stay off a computer until then! LOL
:)

Wow, what a whirlwind weekend. Made it to bil/sil for a night, the competition, then out to my brother's place for the night, then back through the city today to visit my other brother, then back home by 8pm! These "holidays" can be tiring! LOL
There is another competition in a month...we are not telling any family that we will be in the city for it....maybe we will be able to get some down time and get the kids to see a movie or make it to the museum. Don't get me wrong...visiting family is great, but we would like to have some time for just us.
Don't know if I have caught up on all the posting you all did while I was away....this new format still has me puzzled on occassion. LOL
Ds is still not feeling too good....no fever now, but he says his tummy is hurting. Maybe a trip to the dr. tomorrow. :(

I just finished Plains of Passage by same author. Have you read that one or The Mammoth Hunters? All of them are well written, imo, but The Mammoth Hunters is my fav.

Darlene... it sounds like you have an extremely busy weekend... Congratulations to your dd! I can definitely understand where you're coming from when it comes to visiting with family... sometimes it's nice just to have some time for yourselves. As for the board... I LOVE it. I didn't think I would at first but the more I'm on it (which is WAY too much) the more I'm liking it. I hope your ds feels better when he wakes up in the morning. A lot of flu going around here too. Good luck!

Congrats to your dd, sounds like she is doing really well.

Any signs of spring out there??? Defenitely none here, it has been 100% winter all the way, but I love it, we have been able to skate, slide, play outside, etc almost everyday. Going skiing for march break, so hoping the snow holds out.

Hope your ds is feeling better.

Hi Kathy. Spring....what's that? LOL Amazing how long this winter is hanging on. -33 here this am with the wind. It blew so hard this weekend that roads are blocked all over in the country. The kids school bus had to backtrack this am and came from the south instead of the north to pick them up.
I think you have more snow than us though. Did you get hit with all of that that fell after Christmas? I have to agree, the kids are loving being able to play outside in it.
I don't know whether we will have a quick melt (and then flooding) or a long drawn out spring.
Have fun skiing! We have a new recreation area that opened up about an hour from us that offers tubeing as well as skiing. Have been tossing the idea around about taking a day to try that out. People that have gone say it's a blast.

Go tubing!! It is a blast! Kids and dh and I all loved it, great way to spend a nice day.

Yes, we got all that snow in January, not as bad as Nfld though, they got over 400cm!!!!

How is ds, feeling any better?

Kinda....how's that for an answer? LOL He went to school today, no fever but he has an intermitten cough and keeps saying his tummy hurts. Don't know if I should sit in the Dr. office for hours to find out nothing is wrong??? Guess we'll see how tomorrow goes. On Friday 8 of the 25 kids in his class were home sick! Today still 6 were away. Thier teacher isn't feeling very good either. I hope they all feel better soon.
:)
