I just got up but everyone else is still in bed asleep. We got a tiny bit of snow last night and it is just beautiful and peaceful looking out with all the pretty Christmas lights. I've got my coffee brewing, the house is in decent shape. I love cozy days like this!

Last night Brichard worked really hard in the garage and now both of our vehicles and inside of it!!!! I'm so proud of him, he hates doing that kind of stuff.

I have a some work to do at church tonight before service, other than that I think we're staying in!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

We're going to ds1's basketball game this morning, and then coming home to clean, clean, clean!!! I want to put out some Christmas decorations (I have none out yet, either Vea!), and hopefully put up our tree.

I love to decorate for Christmas!! :tree:

Party last night was fun, but I am sure glad I didn't get all Christmasy and I was overdressed as it was cause it wasn't a Christmas party but a pre game UT party for the Big 12 Championship today! LOL
slept in till 7:30, but that was after waking at 3:30 on the dot and saying 'nope not gonna do it today!'
gonna decorate the house/yard today. Vea, I am with you on bah humbug and I know it's only Dec 3, but I have absolutely no joy for getting the house decorated. I completely feel like I am taking down the Halloween cr@p and sticking out the Christmas cr@p...it's just another chore i gotta do.

I know...I'm being silly...I think I just keep remembering christmas as a kid.

My mother had her issues....but christmas was one thing she went all out on. Any I usually do too...usually by thanksgiving weekend my whole house is decorated.

Man I think I've got a cold...I've been sneezing since last night :bawling:

Well the tree is up but nothing on it. Will do that later today with the kids. I need to hurry up and get ready, today is the parade for our little town and ds3 is soooo excited. He was looking at the tree last night and said he was "so so sad". He said because the tree is crying because it doesn't have any chocolate ornaments on it yet. LOL So we told the tree that it was okay, we would buy it some chocolate today and everything will be okay. Good grief! LOL Then he woke this am and was worried the snow had melted over night and made it spring and we didn't decorate the tree yet. What a kid. :)
Tonight is the Jingle Bell Walk to the park and the lighting of the park and meeting Santa there, hot chocolate, cookies. It's always a big deal here.
Hope you all have a good day :)

Woke up at 6:30  and started cleaning my house....what's wrong with me :banghead: ?

Dh had to wake up and take youngest ds to hockey practice, and oldest ds slept at a friends. When I should have been relaxing, enjoying the peacefulness, I've been cleaning toilets :tearhair:

Snowed last night, and still snowing now. It actually is a good day to stay inside and clean the house. Maybe I'll go pick up a movie for later on.

Mel, cute about your ds. I am with him though about the tree...no chocolate would make one sad tree

Enjoy your day everyone :frosty:

Well... I got "a" tree up, but not our regular 7-1/2 ft. one. I found a cute little 4 ft. tree at the Family Dollar store, so I put that up in the living room and got it all decorated. It took all of 5 minutes to do. :biglaugh: I'm going to leave it in there until were ready to put the big one up... then I'll move the small one up to Sarah's bedroom. Well... that's all the Christmas I have going on around here, I just can't get myself in the mood. Maybe it would help if I played some Christmas music. LOL

I cleaned the house up a bit then went to my mom's to do a few things for her. Took her dog Bruno out for a 2 mile walk. I hadn't gone for my walk in a few day's so it felt real good to get out for my walk again. I convinced my mom to get out of the house for a little bit... so we went to Subway for lunch. She's still extremely sore... feeling pretty down and out, which is why I wanted her to get out of the house for a while. She's scared to walk out of the house for fear that she's going to fall again. Seeing she's got the dog she really hasn't got a choice so... I don't know I worry so much about her. 8o

Dh's been working on the treadmill. He's got it working and it sounds real good. I hope it stay's that way. :) Gotta get out to do some Christmas shopping... not sure where but hopefully will get some of it done by the end of the day today. We really don't have that much to buy so it shouldn't be too hard.

Hope you all are having a good day.

Ann and Vea, I'm the same this year. I have a wreath on my front door and that's it. I think this week sometime we "might" put out the outdoor lights, but inside, I just don't care if it gets decorated. I'm not bah-humbuging Christmas, just the decoration, lol. I'd be happy with a poinsettia plant!

Went shopping today with two friends...was hoping there'd be sparks between them and they'd hook up, but I think these two are destined to be single all their lives, lol.

Well I'm starting to get in the sperit....Spent way to much at the Family Dolllar...

Diane~ I decided to buy the 6 foot one. Not the pre lit one though.

Funny thing is it's dropping pine needles like a real one with out the smell (I'm Allergic).

I was even polite when there was a really rude women who grumbled at me, because whe bumped into me and dropped her stuff. I even offered to help pick it up and she ignored me...then was rude to another lady....we just laughed after she left....decided we weren't going to get grumpy because of her.

dbf help set up the tree I shaped it and we still have to decorate it ....just need to find an extention cord for the lights.

Boys had bball this morning. Cleaned a teeny bit and then took a nap in the chair with dd. :tinysmile It snowed all day and it was so pretty - big fluffy flakes. :frosty: Think we have 4 or so inches? We went to Red Lobster tonight and now we're just hanging out. :)

Same here. Not quite 80, but well in the 70's. Dh was going to put lights up outside today but that didn't happen. Kept the kids last night. Braeden fell and hit his head on the fireplace this morning. It bled like crazy of course. Pretty deep cut but looked like it might need one stitch if any. Called his mom and she said to take him to the hospital, which I did. They ended up super gluing him. LOL! That took up a good part of the morning. Took him back to the house. He and Haven were both asleep so I ended up leaving them with dh and going back to town for some decorations. That was a mistake. My one-hour trip took three.

After taking the kids home I put decorations on the tree with dh had put up Monday. I ended up buying some oversized ornaments, various holly and poinsettia greenery and some wired ribbon. So far that's all that's on the tree and it looks fantastic. Tomorrow I'm going to put on the smaller ornaments. Decided to buy two different kinds of wrapping paper for the kids and did the bows with tulle. Their gifts are the only ones I've gotten so far. All other gifts will be wrapped with the stamped paper I always make, if I get my butt in gear and get them bought and the paper stamped.

That's been it for me today. And that was plenty, I'm beat.

I can't believe it's December! Where did the year go??

I've worked most of the weekend; either in the house or at Hallmark. We were swamped at the store today, it's finally gotten cold here and folks feel like shopping.

There must be something in the air because ya'll are not the only ones I've heard are not in the decorating mood this year. I decided to put the "stuff" back in the attic and just have the outdoor decorations and the trees and mantel done inside... it'll be so much more managable afterwards.

Stepdad has been moved into the nursing home and I've been so busy to get there yet, and I feel badly. Bil went back to PA mid-week..... :rme: so we'll see when the next freak out is.

Dd spent the day with dh's parents and they loved being together.

That's about it, nothing exciting.

Kat, sorry 'bout little Braeden's head, hope he feels okay.
Mel, your Jingle Bell Walk sounds so quaint, right out of a book, I'd love it!!

While so many of you are enjoying warm temps we're freezing our patooties (don't have a clue how to spell that! LOL) off!! It says it's about 5 degrees now! BRRR!!

Slept till about 10, after dinner went in to get groceries, came home got ready for church, went to church, ate supper, went in to watch dh bowl in a 9 pin tournament and then watched Ghost Whisperer that we'd taped. Now I'm fiddling on the computer.

I'm getting into the Christmas spirit, in my mind anyway. My usual radio station that I listen to the most plays all Christmas music through Christmas day. That always helps. I think too the preschool kids' excitement over Christmas is somewhat contagious. I want to make up Cookie plates for neighbors but I just don't know when I will find the time to do it. I'm really missing being a SAHM this time of year.
