View Full Version : Had a mini breakdown
I don't know why it happened today...nothing really happened that was different than any other day. I think all the renovations and decisions and expenses and then having to worry about dinner for Dad tonight (forgetting that I had a bird at his house to take care of and forgetting to take some banking I did for him over) and gifts to buy for our holiday luncheon at work, and forget the fact that every day I come home and I have to clean because there's dust and dirt from all the renos, cook dinner and wonder when I'm ever going to get a tree up for ds and dh for Christmas. I am glad I've at least got most of my shopping done! Then when we get in tonight I start vacuuming the stairs off and down the vacuum went, spilling it's contents at the bottom. That's when I just broke down and started crying. DH came and finished my vacuuming for me. I thought I was handling everything so well...but I am really enjoying this whole experience. I thought our neighbours had it bad having to move out and we had it lucky cause we got to live here still, but now I'm beginning to wonder. Then ds's tutor came to the door. Dh didn't hear it over the vacuum, I had mascara all down my face and ds gets mad because I yell up to him to answer the door. Finally I decide to have a relaxing bath, and forgot that I hadn't rinsed the layer of dust off the tub...turned into a quick shower then a good bathroom cleaning!
K, whine is over...speaking of wine, I'm going to pour myself a glass, throw a load of laundry in and settle in to watch Martha!

Awww bless your heart! Sometimes it's unreal how everything can just hit us at once when we feel like we're handling it all, but sometimes that cry can feel so good. Hope tomorrow is a better day!! {{{Bev}}}
Tears are a great way to release stress! (((HUGS))) Cheers to a quick end to the renovations. :)

Oh Bev, honey!!! (((((Hugs)))))) Life gets to us eventually and it's usually when we're doing the most mundane or routine things and one glitch and we're toast. I hope you've enjoyed your night and that tomorrow will be better.
xoxoxo (hugs 'n kisses)

You've had a lot on your plate lately and evidently it all caught up with you. You're only one person and can only do so much. Don't be afraid to delegate some of these responsibilities to your dh/ds, and take care of yourself. Maybe after a good nights sleep you'll wake up feeling much better about everything. (((HUGS)))

(((Bev))) How nice of your dh to jump in when you need him. It'll be over soon!
Thanks everyone...I'm feeling much better today, but then I thought I was feeling good yesterday too :) . Ds gets up and gets into the shower this a.m. ...something about the shower running brought back a memory, or rather a lack of one...I couldn't remember if I rinsed the tub after I cleaned it last night, lol and am pretty sure I didn't.
DH is usually good about helping me keep the house tidy, especially since the renos started so it was of no surprise to me that he finished the vacuuming for me.
I've decided we are going to put our tree up on Friday night, whether the contractor is finished with that part of the rec room or not!!!
(((((Bev))))) Glad things seem to be better this morning.

(((Bev))) I've totally been there....especially this month. My Counselor says alot of people she see is going through this because we all think the Holidays are a "Happy Time" Forgetting how much stress is really there.
She said you have to decide why your doing all your doing and decide if it really worth it. Do you want to do it because you want to or do you feel obligated to do it?
It kind of made me think and slow down alittle.

I want to do it. It's just the renos happening at Christmas. I have to clean everyday...I can't live in a dusty/dirty house.

For me it was all the running around visiting people and do things like decorating....I just had to decide what I really wanted to do.
