feeling kind of guilty. Ds ' chicken pox have developed into a skin infection with high temp. so has been hospitalized. The doctor recomends that I stay away but how can I. He is my baby. I don't know what to do. If I go, there is a chance (very slight) of the babies contracting something. If I stay away, ds cries all day and night because he want his mommy and thinks I won't come see him because I'm mad at him for being sick. I've talked to him on the phone, and sent him special cards, but he is still really scared and upset. He loves his dad, but nobody makes it better like mommy. dh says that they told him that ds can likely come home by thurs or fri. as long as the temp. stays down. How can I stay away that long. Oh, bless your heart. I'm crying for you. It's easy for me to say protect those babies and don't risk exposing them, but it's not my little baby who wants/needs his momma. Praying for you.

How awful for you. :( How about if you send a tape of you talking to him that he can listen to at the hospital? Read him some of his favorite books, sing him songs, tell him how much you miss him, etc. This must be a very difficult time for you, but hang in there and know you are doing the best you can do in the circumstances. Hope he's feeling better and out of the hospital soon!!!! Thoughts and prayers are with all of you!!!! :angel:

When I was 5 months pregnant with dd my ds had to have an xray and I could not be in the room with him. They took him from me and shut the door and he screamed the whole time and puked purple popsicles all over one of the nurses. I can't even imagine days of that feeling. ugh! (((((((((Ryleigh)))))))))

I do like the idea of taping yourself, maybe even video. Ds is going to have to let BigDaddy be his hugs this week. He is staying with him in the hospital??? I am praying for a quick recovery.

Correct me if I am wrong but.....I always was led to believe that chicken poxs was the most contagious just before spots developed (old wives tale???). If that is the case, you would have been already exposed to the worst part of him being sick???

Could you visit him in the hospital and wear a mask/gown? :nurse: Would that make a difference?

Poor guy and poor mommy! I hope that he is able to come home by the end of the week. I know it must be killing you to not be able to comfort him, but it's better to be safe with those babies. Good luck to you all.

Thats a terrible postion to be in!!! I feel so bad for your ds and you!! Protect the babies and then give him a million hugs and kisses when you get home. I would also call every hour on the hour! :)

Bless your heart!! I don't understand why you couldn't follow infectious diseases guidelines and mask, glove and gown. I like the tape recording idea too.
