Longish day at work, till 11:30. then grocery store, laundry, cleaning house.
Our street got 1st prize in the Christmas light contest! DD will be so devastated that we didn't get any personal award. She just can't understand that our few lights aren't quite enough next to the Griswalds who live on our street! LOL

I'm surprised my kids aren't up yet! Dh's sister, bil and two dd's are flying in this morning and we're all excited to see them. :)

Just a little bit of maintenance type house stuff today, a little bit of laundry and a lot of catching up with sil!

Dh is getting off work early to pick them up from the airport, so we get more time with him, too! :D

Ann, too funny about your neighbors! That's the way Mom's dh has always been and he's stressing now because a lot of other people in the neighborhood go all out with lights and bells and whistles... he's having a hard time keeping up!

Well then get your staple gun out! lol

I, like Beth, just put the finishing touches on teacher gifts. I bought Starbucks gift cards for the two secretaries, principal, nurse, dd's teacher. Barnes and Noble for ds's two teachers. I've spent alot of time this year buying gift cards at Starbuck's. I hope they appreciate it! lol

I'm going to put the other kids on the bus, then take mine to school. It is party day and that's where I'll be spending most of my time today.

No plans for tonight, though I'm guessing my inlaws will come for dinner since they didn't last night.

Bus is coming..... bye

Good morning! Working til 10:15 then going home to go to the funeral for our friend at 11:00. Back to work for 1:15. Forgot to mention last night that we had a delivery to our house just as the contractor's were leaving...a lovely pasta gift basket from...yup, the contractors.

Picking my mom up to do her grocery shopping... then back home to do some more baking. Not much else... looking forward to a nice quiet evening. Hope you all have a nice day.

I had a lot of fun last night even though my score sucked. lol I will miss it, starts again on Jan. 11.
Nothing much today besides putting away some laundry and hopefully getting some floors washed. Presents in the garage need to come in and be hid but kids are always around. By the time they were asleep last night I was too tired so maybe I can sneak them in when ds3 is really into a show or playing with something.
Hope you all have a good day :)
Pam, enjoy your company.
Bev, how nice!

LOL Time is flying, I can't believe Christmas is this weekend. But that's okay, time can fly and then slow right down once my mom gets here.

I am down right misable.....Of course I'm sick...It's Christmas week.

Gonna cancel my allergy shot today....may have to reschedule root canal for tomorrow....what do you think?

Other then that just work. dbf is working a side job so he won't be home until late....I'm thinking of bed early tonight. Everything is just about done.

Just trying to get these ornaments for my family done.

Have a good day!

Vea, why wouldn't you get your shot and root canal over and done with? Is it because you don't feel well? Chances are you won't feel well tomorrow either.

I'm barely awake. I was up until 11:15 baking cookies. I'm done now. I'm taking dd to school and was going to hit Curves. I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder blade so I don't know if I'll make it of not. It might be too painful. I might just come home and walk before it starts raining. We'll see how I feel when I get up and moving around more. Ds has a friend coming over after school. They are playing 3 duets at the guitar recital in January so they are going to practice. I think they'll probably play some and then we are going to make some marbelized Christmas ornaments if we can figure out how. Vea- aren't you making them? How do you make them? Anyway- it's a girl who is coming over and she cracks me up because she is such a tomboy. She's a really sweet kid.

Guess I'd better get dressed! I'm running a bit late this morning.

I know the allergist don't usually give you the shot if your sick....cause they can't tell if you have a reaction....Leaving the root canal appointment as is for now.

I don't even know what to say. LOL Yesterday was a freaking bonker day because we are in the height of our busy season and coming off a wicked busy weekend for our retail room was no picnic for me yesterday.

Today is much more managable. The boss is gone, Lovey is leaving, my work is caught up and now it is just me and my music. LOL

Sil called and her and my db are on the way to the hospital, should be checked in by now. I feel bad because when she called I didn't really believe she was in labour, still not sure and haven't heard one way or the other. I think she may have been expecting more enthusiasm from me but she did this a few days ago and she wasn't. She asked how my stomach felt in labour and I can only go by my own experience. I figure, if you "think" you are in labour, you're not! LOL If you feel like nothing before, 10 stronger contractions than the false labour and shaking like a leaf through your entire body with every contraction, that's labour! rofl Everyone is so different, sil's other sister had almost no stomach pain at all and a huge amount of discomfort in her back. So, waiting for a call to tell us either way if it's real and if they are staying at the hospital. She said she's been getting contractions 'sort of' regular and then they were 5 min. apart. She took a shower and then they were 10 min's apart. I don't remember it ever slowing down like that, anyone else? Now I feel guilty for not being over excited but to my defence I was watching ds do something at the time too. lol

I always labored on and off the whole end of my pregnancies. I would think it would stay consistant, but like you said, everyone is so different.

Less than an hour later she was sent home. All I know is that it wasn't labour and she was off to the mall to walk until 10 tonight hoping for results. I don't know if there was any progress or not or if the dr. felt that she could be in labour over the next day or so with the walking. I know she wants the baby now but I still hope she holds off and my mom doesn't need to fly out before Christmas. Another day or so and then sil will be in the hospital for Christmas, if it was me, I would be hoping NOT to go into labour until after the 25th.

I'm sure it's too late now, but I've made them and all I did was pour some acrylic paint down inside the clear ornament and swirl it around. Then, let them drain in an egg crate until they are dry. Add the hook and ribbon and you're done.
Hope it was fun!

That's exactly what I did. They are drying right now. How long do you think it will take to completely dry? It seems like it would take forever because the hole is so small. They look really neat.

Yeah I'm finding it to be very time consuming....you swirl it let it sit alittle swirlit....repeat....then dran excess....let dry and then I've had to do som touch ups...they say to wash the balls with vinagar and water and then let dry over night first...but I didn't...problably why it's so hard.
