I went to bed at 9:30 last night so I woke up at 4am! I've had my coffee, watched the terrible fall out from the coal miner situation on tv and now I'm getting my IB fix!
Dd#2 goes to the dentist this morning to get her teeth cleaned. I'm not sure what we will do after that. How's that for a plan!?
Have a great day all!

My day off and something in the fridge is calling for help (meaning, something is stinking). So, I'll clean it out, straighten up, get Christmas back in the attic, attend a funeral at 2:00 then work at 5.
Ann, let us know what you hear back from the dr. today.

I'mw up....slept later then usual...now I'm waiting for peapod to come...between 8:30 -12. So I'll do some stuff around here and then go to work....I'm so much more ready for it today. I totally needed that extra day.
Ann~ Good luck at the dr's
(((sista))) Sorry about your loss. Think I missed the post about it, so not sure how close you were to this person....But ((((hugs)))) anyway.
Good morning. Working today. The kitchen place is coming with some warranty stuff and the remaining of my spice drawers. I will nip home at lunch because I want to mention some stuff. The electrician came yesterday and re-wired for the dryer so now that's ready for it to move upstairs (other than the reventing of it). Don't have a clue when the plumber is coming, so if we want to do laundry, right now we can wash it but we can't dry it. I hope my contractor comes back from Florida SOON, lol. Hoping to hear from my sister (M) today to see if there are any places we can visit today/tonight.

Thank you Vea, but I'm fine. This is the grandfather of a girlfriend of mine. And I had not posted about it earlier. :tinysmile Thanks again, though.

Not much. I'm making my meatballs for tomorrow nights dinner. I've got everyone coming over to celebrate dd #3's birthday. It was going to be over at Dawn's house (some people haven't seen it yet) but Thursday isn't a good night for her to have it (gotta work until 6:00) so were having it over here. SIL is allergic to cats and a terrible time of it when he was here for Christmas so... not too sure if he's going to come or not. I haven't heard back from them (they're GREAT at not responding... ) so don't even know if either one of them are planning on coming or not. Hopefully I'll hear from her today.
Treadmill, vacuum... dust and finish up the laundry. Picking my mom up after dh gets home from work tonight and taking her out to eat then to Target to pick up meds. She's been in such a bad mood lately, been so negative. All I hear is how bored she is and how she's SO sick of being stuck at home. (hint hint to me... :( ) She's sick of the sun not shining... well, there is nothing I can do about that. LOL It's getting to the point where I dread even having to call her. I understand how she's feeling but it's frustrating to me because there isn't really anything I can really do about it. Anyway... I'm hoping that seeing she knows she's getting out tonight she'll be in a better mood when I call her this morning. :)
Not much else... hope you all have a great day today.
Ann... good luck at the dr's.
Sista... I have to clean my fridge out too and I'm not looking forward to it. I love how it looks when I'm all done though. :)
Bev... I hope your contractor comes back from Florida soon. :)
Vea... I'm glad you're feeling better.
angie... so sad about those coal miners. :(
Back to school day here. Have laundry going this morning, and that's about all I know for my day for now.
Don't have dgd today because her dad has the day off. Since I was on here in summer there have been changes for dd#1, she no longer works(is looking for part-time though) she decided to go back and upgrade her highschool marks and take the subjects she didn't think were necessary when she was that 17yr old who thought she knew more than anyone!! She has decided to follow a different career path (the one she had always wanted when she was younger, but then as a teenager gave up on because she didn't think she was smart enough) She has applied for nursing school, and has been shadowing the nurses at the hospital here to make sure it's a career she would enjoy, and so far she does.
It's amazing how a child can mature and change so much, she has a totally different attitude to school because she wants to be there and knows what her end goal is. She told me she can't believe how interesting school is and how short the classes are - the same classes that seemed like they would never end 3 years ago. The teachers are so amazed by her too because they know how she used to be, so they had low expectations of her coming back, and are seeing a totally different person now.
Sorry if I have bored you with all that, but I'm proud of her, it's not easy going back into a school setting and being in the same classes and kids you used to babysit!
Diane, could you do your own complaining to your mom? I.e. how you hate the sun not shining too, how you wish you'd hear back from SIL re: dinner, how much laundry you have, how you miss dd#3...give her a dose of her own medicine, lol.
Fern, sounds like your dd is on the right path...good for her!

Such great news about your dd Fern... you've got every right to be proud! I'm so excited for her. :) :) Congratulations!
Trying to get some stuff done around the house this morning. I'm getting my hair colored and highlighted this afternoon and that usually takes a good 3 hours of my time. It looks great when it's done, but I really have a ton of things to get done around here. I need to clean my fridge too- it's going in the paper to sell on Friday! So I need to get everything out of it and it cleaned out. I need to rearrange the base's fridge so I can get the other stuff in it. We have been using it as an extra to hold sodas and stuff like that. It's not full right now, so it will make it easier. It's just so small and I don't like it at all. Only 3 weeks of it though. :)
Fern- Thant is GTREAT news about your dd! She sounds A LOT like me. Lucky for her, she still young while she figured it out.
Diane- I hope you get an answer from dd and sil if they are coming. I agree, complain to your mom. Maybe it will make her feel like she can give you some advice to help you out. It may make her feel like she's needed.
Jen- I'm sorry to hear about your friend's grandfather.

Oh Fern! That sounds great about your dd! Good for her.
Diane, I've escaped from the back and underneath of the fridge. What a scary experience THAT was. Yuck. lol
Have you or your mom thought about her talking to her dr. about anti-depressants? My mom slumped into severe doldrums and her dr. told her to try half a dose of Lexapro for 6 months and it's done her a WORLD of good.
Your mom has complained to you for a lonnng time now and is unwilling to get herself out and entertain herself, so maybe a little hormonal/chemical change could help her out and she woulndn't feel so negative all the time. Just a thought.

If I agreed and started complaining along with her about the sun not shining or anything else, I'd only be feeding into her negativity. :) LOL I usually don't like to complain and usually won't until I'm so frustrated I feel like I'm going to explode, which is how I've been feeling. :( She's been complaining to my sister's about how she misses me and how I'm not taking her out as much as I use to.  She's also constantly throwing these (so obvious) hints at me. As much as I love my mom, I'm only one person and can only do so much. If I even saw her making the slightest effort I wouldn't complain, but she doesn't even try. Without my mom's knowledge, we called and talked with the people at the senior center (they have SO many wonderful activities) and they were kind enough to call my mom and talk with her about the senior center and what they had to offer. They invited her to come... even offered to have someone come pick her up (she never got her license) and bring her, but she always comes up with some kind of an excuse. They gave up and stopped calling. When it's all said and done... it all seems to falls back on me. I think that when I quit my job she thought we'd be spending a lot more time together running here, there and everywhere, and I've made it a point not to do that because that would only make her even more expectant/dependant on me. Anyway... I'm to the point where I'm feeling suffocated and I can't stand it. I feel guilty complaining because I know so many of you have lost your mom’s and would do anything to be able to call/talk with them and go out and do things with them... and here I am complaining. :( I don’t mind doing what is necessary with/for her... but just not all the time to the point where I don’t have a life of my own with dh. She’s even been hinting about moving in with us. 8o Anyway... sorry to vent on the Wednesday thread. I'd better get to my house... LOL
Diane, it sounds like you've done all you can (we know you have) and nothing is going to change your mom. What you have control over now then, is how you react to it. You know, we know, everybody knows how much you do...except your mom. If your mom chooses to complain about how "little" you do, just CHOOSE to ignore it. Keep telling yourself it's not your problem, it's hers. Don't feel guilty about it, but instead feel GOOD about what you do do.
Jen...how fun about your hair. I go for my cut/highlights on the 12th and it can't come soon enough for me!

Fern, that is great for your dd.
Sista, I have to tackle my fridge this week too, was hoping to save it for when the kids go back to school and still might.
No big plans today. The boys cleaned up most of the toys in the living room yesterday so I will finish today and hopefully find some old toys that can go into a bin that no one will notice missing. lol
Hope you all have a good day :)

Fern - That is just so fantastic about your dd!!!! Praise away!!
Well, dd and I left the dentist and went to the used book store to get a bible for her. She found the exact one she wanted, I can't believe she is only 3! She just cracks me up. Took her to get a sandwich at Chick Fil A. Then we stopped at a video game store and used the girls Christmas money to get 2 of those dance pads that you hook to your playstation/gamecube. I did get a game, but I'm not really thrilled with it. I may look for another one. Now we are home!
I need to go fill my food pantry orders some time today, but that's it!
No doc appointment today for ds, just waiting on the lab results.

bad stomach pains last night
Ann, that stinks! I hope they get the labs back soon so you can see a dr and figure out what's going on.
The dr called me back just a bit ago. She said she's gong to call tomorrow and see if she can get the mammo results FAXED to her as typically it takes 3-4 weeks to get them. If it takes that long, I'll be gone. She said if she can and possibly even if she can't get them FAXED to her, she's going to put in a request for the ultrasound. She said typically the insurance will not pay for an ultrasound with my symptoms, but she will explain to them that the mammo place wanted to do it to see about a blocked or infected duct. She said she'd call me and let me know. Luckily I don't really have an plans coming up so I'll be home and not be out of the house stressing out about if she's called and I missed it.

Our boys got the same thing!!! It's so much fun. Do you know if two of the gamecube version can be hooked up at the same time (2-player??)? Haven't checked the manual yet, and I'm just curious.

I'm not sure about the DDR game, but the game we got, an older used one, we are using two mats with. The bus stop in my house today was hilarious. My dd who drags out of bed in the morning, jumped up and got dressed so she could get to the living room to play! Hooray!
I'm going to blockbuster to rent a new one today. They have a Mario game for it.

We got ds1 DDR for Xbox. Got the mat seperately and dh downloaded the game. I was surprised how much he liked it and uses it. He's not as shy as ds2 though and isn't afraid to admit that yes, boys dance too. LOL Ds1 knows it is great excersise and he loves being physical. Not sure if you could use to mats at once with this one or not but that would be fun.

You can download just about anything that's out there from movies still in theatres to Nintendo DS games. I'm surrounded by computer geeks who know this stuff. I'm clueless otherwise. LOL
