Something got changed on my computer so that everything is HUGE - not just the font size, but web pages, email, etc - everything takes up an enormous amount of space and I have to scroll up and down, back and forth to even see things that normally appeared on the monitor with no problem. It is driving me insane!!! I have searched all over and cannot figure it out. Someone please help me. :bawling:

Okay...just asked dh...he says you have to change the screen resolution...

on your desktop...right click your mouse....that will open a pop up window with options...click on the settings tab....there will be a setting for screen resolution...depending on the size of your monitor, (it will be either 800x600 or 1024x768 ) choose the one that is appropriate....click apply..it will ask you if you want to keep these settings...say yes if it is the right size now.

Hope that helps!

:)

That seems to happen to me when the kids play certain computer games. It resets the resolution.

I need more help! :\ When I click on that it won't let me change the settings! I get to the point that I am supposed to be at to change the pixels and there's a little bar thing where I should be able to adjust it, but it doesn't let me move the scrolling thing on it. :\

The only thing I can think of is to click on view at the top.....where it says file edit view....

Try changing the text size.to medium....

I'll see what else I can figure out.

Is your color setting next to that bar on the highest quality? Sometimes it won't let you change the bar if the color setting isn't high enough. ???

The color bar is there, but it won't let me change the settings on that either - it only shows one setting option.

Yikes! Have you tried re-starting your computer to see if any of that comes back? Ugh... I hate computer problems! I'm so clueless when it comes to anything more than the most basic of snags.

Do you have system restore? If so, set it to before this happened and see if it goes back to normal.

I've already tried re-starting the computer and I also did system restore on 5 different dates and that does nothing. :bawling: I am going INSANE!!! :crazyroll Thanks for the ideas gals - keep 'em coming!!!

Dh said his next step would be to re-install your video drivers...way too complicated to type out here apparently! :goofy:

Hmmmm...you're not too far from us....maybe a 10 hour drive  ....what's for supper tomorrow???

Seriously...hope you can get it fixed.

Oh...he is still talking....if you have the original cd that came with your computer...not the windows cd...the the disc that came with your video card, the drivers will be on that and there might be an installation program.

Otherwise...internet google for the driver of the video card that you have. Most manufacturers will have drivers that you can download.

You can email dh if you want...maybe he can be of more help that way....

Ugh!! I am so computer illiterate! Why oh why couldn't it be something simple? :bawling:

Thanks so much for the help Darlene!! I'll see what I can figure out and email if I am still stuck (so yes, do plan on hearing from me, LOL!)

Another question before I go - how do I know which video card we have? ?(

Another question - would the disc be the one that says....
Contents:
HTML User Documents
Drivers (INF, ICM and CAT files)

If so, do I have to remove a program first and then reinstall this? TIA!!!!

Hi again...I forward your questions to dh...he is going to email you.

He is not fond of DELL systems! Thinks they are cookie cutter computers.
