DD and I are skipping SS and church today...i am letting her sleep in. She was so good last night! The show was fantastic...the sets and costumes were amazing.
DS' test went well, it was about an hour and a half of him laying very still under this huge xray type machine..i got to watch tv! LOL
I did have quite a surprise/shock yesterday. DS' hair had gotten quite long, especially in the front. It was just gorgeous, lots of waves and curls. The front was almost to his mid nose. He had talked about wanting to get a cut and was just going to trim the front and leave the back long. He's not here when I get back from the matinee. I hear the doorbell ring, dd goes to answer it and I hear a scream. I go to the door and there is this teenage boy at the door that looks vaguely familiar but I can't quite place his face. It's DS!!! He had buzzed all his hair off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked at how different and so much older he looked!!! AND he did it himself too!!! It really looks great but he just looks so different. My dad's wife didn't even know who he was. My aunt took a minute to realize it! LOL
He was so upbeat last night, had his funny satirical sense of humor back. It was so nice to see the 'old' him.

Ann~ Sounds like you had a great day yesterday....Glad to hear it.

Well we're in the mist of a Blizzard.....It's just coming down like crazy and in every direction...It's just swirling all over. Weird to say but this is our first major snow storm of the year. They're saying 10-15 inches by the time it done...Looks like it may be more. Can I hope for another monday off....LOL.

well we're just going to have to veg out here today :)

Oh Ann, I am just soooo excited for you and ds!!! It looks like you might be turning a corner!! :yippee: How soon will you get results on the testing?

I slept in till 8 this morning! Now I'm up, laundry's going, vacuumed, half mopped the lower level, the kids are upstairs picking up. Dd#1 had a massive nosebleed yesterday, bless her heart. She's only had a couple since we had her nose cauterized(?) last year. Anyway, now I'm finding nasty bloody tissues everywhere. Bleck!! Can you say Lysol?

My house is a mess, I need to do a big purge one day this week while all the kids are gone. Ds's birthday is next week and this is the first time he is not going to have a giant sleepover. He is going to an indoor rock climbing overnighter with brichard. Then he decided to take the money he gets from us and brichard's parents, have my mom come up and redecorate his room. He is so excited, and so am I!! I think it's the best birthday present he has ever wanted!! lol

Not much happening here today. We are supposed to invite some friends over today, but I am not sure that is going to happen. I found out Friday that I have shingles. They think that when I had that cold and ran the fever for 5 days, it lowered my immune system and shingles broke out. They are itching and very sore. We have other things that need to be done today too. Anyways, I hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Ann - Great news about your ds! It must feel wonderful to see him that way again!!! :)

Leigh - Hope you're feeling better soon!

OMG... I can only imagine how shocked/surprised you all were. It's so funny how a hair cut can make someone look so different. :) (especially when it's going from so long to soooo short) LOL It's got to be so nice for you to see the "old" him coming back again. Bless his heart... :)

Congratulations to dd for a job well done... :) You must be so proud. Hope you enjoyed your matinee

Lazy lazy day... we didn't even climb out of bed until almost 10:00 this morning... sooooooo not like us. LOL We ended up going out for brunch instead of breakfast. :) Now were just sitting around the house not doing much of anything. Cup of coffee in hand and on the computer while dh reads the Sunday paper. How pathetic are we... Sunday and absolutely nothing to do. LOL

Good tv tonight...an all new Desperate Housewives and the continuation of Grey's Anatomy. Can't wait...

Hope you all have a good day...

Ann, so glad dd did well with the play. I hope you tape all of them she does? What great news about ds being his old self. What a shocker about the hair huh? LOL
Leigh, hope you feel better soon.
Vea, enjoy your snow day.
Angie, how old will your ds be next week? That's a cool idea he had to redecorate his room. Didn't know you could get a nose caterized for nosebleeds or was it done for another reason? Ds2 still gets them but they were so bad when he was 3-6 and would just tucker him right out.
Diane, enjoy a day with nothing to do. :)

Went to church, brunch and back home. No skiing today, enough to do around here and the kids didn't feel like being out in the cold today. They are supposed to be doing chores and aren't so they have had fair warning...no chores then this week they will find that they don't have basketball or tae kwon do either. Funny how that can work two ways.... We'll see if they redeem themselves and get anything done for me today or not. I will not nag, I will not nag, I will not.....LOL Going to get some laundry put away and help ds3 clean his room, which isn't bad but needs a little general tidy. Hopefully can find some (a bunch) of toys for the salvation army or something.
Hope you all have a good day :)

My baby will be 10. He pointed out a zit on his forehead yesterday! lol

Dd would get nosebleeds at school and then have blood all over herself. I am so glad I was at the school for her Kindergarten pics, just as they were coming down the hall to get hers taken, gush.... She would get them in the middle of the night and wake up with dried blood all over the place. I remember her getting a nasty one at Target one time and everyone looked at me with those "looks." I asked my ped about it and we ruled out any "blood" issues she might have, then she sent us to an ENT and they cauterized her nose on the first visit. She has only had a handful of nosebleeds since then. I just loved that doctor, he had a big conversation about Polly Pockets with dd!

Have you ever asked his doctor about it?

Whew! Had to come up for fresh air. I've painted dd's playroom and dh and dd finished priming the bathroom and if I don't sit here for too long, I'll go begin painting it. We've decided to pull out the sink cabinet and replace it with a pedstal sink which means a new floor too! :yippee:

OH ANN!!! :yippee: I am SO glad to hear ds's spirits are UP!! How funny for him to trick ya'll like that!! :)
I'm really tickled to hear how well dd's play went. I should've gotten her autograph when we met... she may be FAMOUS someday! :)

Karla, glad you had a good time with your sis and mom!

Diane, don't kick yourself for staying in bed so long... we all need lazy days!

Angie, when's your ds's b'day? My dd will be 10 on 2/22. :)

Leigh, yikes! Sorry 'bout the shingles. I hope they are not too severe and cuase you any pain. My fil had them years ago and really suffered.... hope you don't!

Ok, gotta go before I get too comfortable here. :)

I'm so impressed with everything you are getting done!

Ds bday is the 15th, he would have been born on Valentine's Day if the ob would have come in instead of letting me lay in the hospital all night. lol

Thanks to everyone!!!! It's so nice to see glimpses of my son. I can not tell you how frightening it is to watch a child of yours slip away....

Yep..you should have gotten her autograph! ;) I really think she has the talent!!!!

Have you ever asked his doctor about it?

Yes, when he was younger and they said it was just little vessels that burst, common with the drier weather and season changes. He gets them on occassion now but he was getting them all the time when he was younger. At school, in the night, no warning. But what scared me was the time he was 3 or 4 and it wouldn't stop for half an hour, took him to the doc. and it finally stopped in the waiting room. The used to make him sooo tired. Now he thinks they are no biggie and knows how long to pinch. Glad you were there for her on picture day, yikes.
