I just finished "The Clan of the Bear Cave" a wonderful book. I ran to public library and got the 2nd in the series. "The valley of the Horses". I will probably get started on it tonight. I put dd to bed at 8:30. We both cuddle in the bed with a book. I listen to her read then we both read silently. Dh has to come and move her later. I guess we won't be able to do this much longer. She is growing so quickly.
HOOOOOO!! They do grow up too fast.

I am reading "Life on the Other Side" by Sylvia Browne. I LOVE to read, but usually only get to do it right before bed. I am also trying to read some of the books from Oprah's Book Club and just finished "Where the Heart Is" by Billie Letts. I used to read a lot of true crime/murder books, but have been taking a break from that lately. :)

I've been reading The Stargazey by Martha Grimes. It's a mystery about an English detective Richard Jury.
I'm reading The Indwelling from the Left Behind series. I read the first 5 over Christmas Break, then go slowed down on 6 and 7 since going back to school. I take a different view of the prophecy in Revelation but I really have enjoyed the books. I'm a big Grisham fan too, but I'm behind on reading his last 2 The Brethren and The Painted House. Maybe I can get some reading done during Spring Break. Family wants to go to Gulf Shores and veg out.

I am way behind the fads-I just finished reading the first Harry Potter book and am waiting for the next one to be available at the library.

I just finished Hannibal!! Going to see the movie this week with a couple of girlfriends. Thank goodness they have changed the ending in the movie, the book ending positively creeped me out. Anyone else read it?

Karla, how do you find Sylvia Browne's book? I think it would be interesting to read.
I also would like to get started on the left behind series. The movie looks good.
I just seen a preview in a magazine for one called Finding Fish. It looks good. I forget the name of the guy who wrote it, except his last name is Fisher. It's about a boy born in prison, growing up in foster homes and eventually making it somehow in the ent. industry. At least I think it's somewhere in the entertainment industry, that is what it seemed like by the preview. It is supposed to be made into a movie soon too.
I'm not reading anything right now, I haven't had the chance to go to Chapters lately so I guess I wouldn't have the time to read one either. lol I also need to add a dog obedience book to that list as well.
I just finished Grisham's A Painted House and am now back reading the Janette Oke series I read in-between. I like to always have one going.
Kathy, was Hannibal really creepy? Do you think I'd like it? I don't want nightmares!!

I got Sylvia's book for my birthday, but have seen it at Barnes and Noble and other book stores. I even saw it at Sam's Club at one point. Some of her books are also at the library. I have read all of her books and think they are so interesting - lots to think about and consider...
The book you mentioned "Finding Fish" also sounds good! I am going to put that on my list to read! :) Thanks!

I am so glad that there are other readers here. Reading is one of those things that I do for myself. Be sure to post any good books that you find. I really don't like the r rated ones. I also like the OKE book's. In the public library I look for books by the same publisher. It helps to make sure that you don't get r rated.
Which Oke books have you read? I'm on the love comes softly series - book 6. I skipped order and read Prairie Legacy series first but it still made sense.
And yes, I hope everyone posts good books...I like to have a list going :)

I haven't had the time to read lately, but I am trying to start on the Dave Peltzer books. (I think that is the correct author) My coworker is loning me A Boy Called It. I have been told that it is very sad, but everyone I have talked to seems to like it. Have any of ya'll read it, and what did you think?

I have read all of the Dave Pelzer books - I htink there are two more after the one you have. He endured some VERY disturbing things at the hands of his mother. :( Let me know what you think of "A Child Called It" when you are done or as you are reading it. It's amazing what he has gone through and where he is today!

I've read the David Pelzer books...and while they were very interesting...terribly sad...and a quick "read"...I found the books to be almost too upsetting to read. I found that I couldn't get some of the images out of my mind. He surely did suffer, and I am glad that he has overcome such a terrible upbringing. It's sad to think that so much abuse happens in our society. :(

I'm saying good bye to Ayla and Jondalar from the Earth's Children Series. The author Auel writes an interesting story, but she got too detailed and graphic for me. The book is x-rated. I can't possibly recommend it to any of my friends without embrassment. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I will miss the story, but I have to draw a line somewhere. I know there are many more good books out there. Please post when you find one.
Thanks all...

ITA about the books and society. I had a very hard time reading his first book because the abuse was so bad, it was so sad that it happened at the hands of his mother! :(

I read romances but read so rapidly that it really wouldn't pay to say any given title. Probably by the time anyone reads this post I'll be onto a new one!
