We had ham, twice baked potatoes, salad, rolls, jello...and pineapple upside-down cake. Yum!
Angie, what is ham sauce?
Very plain here...we had roast beef, mashed potatoes, green beans and pumpkin pie for dessert. Dh's sister invited herself over too.

Angie, what is ham sauce?
Wondering the same thing. I usually make a pineapple glaze but don't add it to the ham, serve it on the side so people have the option of having some or not.

Angie, what is ham sauce?
Mom used to make a raisin sauce for our ham. Dunno if that's the same as Angie's or not.

I didn't cook, but both mom's had ham and scalloped potatoes. Mil had watergate salad, and marinated veggies then assorted cakes. (yuck)
My mom did pickled beets, pickled eggs, broccoli/cauliflower mix, buttermilk biscuits, hard boiled eggs (I brought), corn on the cob, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. Then a delicious fruit pie (rhubarb, strawberry, apple, blueberry mix).
She's started using Schwans food service (you call in an order and they deliver to your door) since sd has been ill and it's been the best thing for her. Most of today's dinner was from there and it's so tasty!

what are pickled eggs?
In our house, we know them as YUCK!! LOL
Glad you like them Jenn.
We had ham, spinach with cheese, roasted potatoes and asparagus. We would have had croissants, but I left them on the counter and never missed them. Oh well.

Angie, what is ham sauce?
My mom has always made it with ham. It has mayo, mustard, horseradish, honey, lemon, salt, pepper. My mother hates condiments, but loves this sauce. I have to say the only person who has ever had it and doesn't just love it is brichard, go figure! lol
My nephew, he's 19, always gets an extra jar of it to take home. He said he's even eaten it on pizza, lol.

OMG... I can't begin to tell you all the food my sister had on the table. There was so much... we ate at 3:00 and I'm still stuffed. LOL She had ham, mashed potatoes/gravy, corn, seafood salad, shrimp salad, some other kind of pasta salad, deviled eggs, croissants... olives/pickles, and two different kinds of dessert. I didn't really eat too much of each... but even a little sample of each filled my plate. LOL Hope you all had a great Easter...

My mom cooked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob, biscuits, and peas. My granny brought squash, fried okra, and greens. My aunt brought a cheese cake covered in strawberries, and I didn't bring a thing. LOL!! I asked my mom what she wanted me to bring and she said she had it covered, so I believed her.

Yeah, I like cake but what mil had was not good.
Watergate salad is a sweeeet, fluffy salad made of pistachio pudding, marshmallows, and cool whip (a few more ingredients, but you get the idea). I used to really like it, but it's super sweet, so not a fave of mine.
I don't eat the pickled eggs. They are hard boiled then marinated in something that turns them red like beets (probably beet juice!). They look like really strange tomatoes. LOL
Angie, that does sound good. Does your mom make it or is it a premade mix?
Jen, I've had that, it was called something else though. LOL

I've never heard of this sauce with ham before, but it does sound awfully good. :licklips: My dad use to make "his" sauce each/every year for our ham, which my mom now makes. It's some kind of raison sauce, don't know what all goes into it, but it's really good. Couldn't imagine eating ham without it. LOL

She has always made it from scratch. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. My nephew said it was really good on steak too. I love it on sandwiches. We don't pour it over the whole ham, we dip into it as we eat it. I glazed the ham with a brown sugar glaze this year.

I've never seen red pickled eggs before...the ones I've seen are in a clear liquid (vinegar based maybe) and they don't change the colour of the eggs at all. I've never tried one, myself.
