I was reading the Darlene's thread about the disposable cameras and someone mentioned scrapbooking.

Do all/any of you keep scrapbooks for your kids? If so, how often do you update them? I did so good when the boys were little. I swore to myself that my youngest wasn't going to end up with the fewest number of pictures, but I think that's exactly what is happening. We recently got out the scrapbook for the three youngest kids. They love to look through them. I haven't put pictures in any of them for 1 1/2 yrs! I have pictures to put in, just haven't had time to put them in. I don't even do the scrapbooking where you crop pictures and make them look neat. I slap about 6 pictures on a page and write captions and dates underneath each one. Am I pathetic or what? LOL

Anybody have any tricks to keep up with 5 (6 counting one for dh & me) scrapbooks??? If you take group pics of cousins or siblings do you take enough for each scrapbook or do you just have reprints made??

I've tried the double prints but found I end up with too many that I only need one of.

Well, just curious about your ideas. Thanks! :)

Hi Linda. I try to keep each kids with approx the same amount of pics, but am about 3 years behind in getting the pics into their albums. I do try to remember to date the envelopes (and the back of the pics) before I stick them into the photo boxes I have. I say every winter that I am going to tackle getting them all where they belong, but here it is almost summer and I have yet to do it! I do have separate albums for each one of the kids, but haven't gone as good as scrapbooking any of them.
I always get film developed in triple prints....then I have one proof for each of the kids. I have found that it is cheaper to get film developed that way than to get individual prints made at a later date (besides I know I would never get around to it! )

Any extra prints left over are always good to send off to my family that don't see the kids/us very often.

I saw a really neat idea at one place.....take photos and just tack them onto a bulletin board.....keep adding as prints come back from developing and by the end of the year it was a wonderful trip down memory lane. They had it hanging in the front entrance, and always made for great conversation!

:)

I have a similar board in my clasroom at the daycare. The kids love it. They will stand there chatting for hours.
