It is a bit chilly here this AM and dreary. It was raining yesterday and it will probably do the same today a little later on.
Dh is working on a project in the garage, ds1 is at a friends to play and ds2 is outside with the neighbours son. It's nice and quiet in the house. :)
I am supposed to be working at the laundry, floor washing and vaccuming but nausea has claimed me this AM. I guess it's comming from my cold. I'm such a wuss. LOL
I have a little critter who seems to have taken over my tea towel drawer in the kitchen so I need to put out some mouse traps. I grabbed a towel yesterday to find some poop on it and right through the drawer. I think he may be living in the cupboard underneath it. It's full of juice jugs and cake pans so once I catch the little bugger I have a huge pile of dishes to rewash.
Someone is comming here tomorrow to see the ceiling before they come and re-do it on the 13 and I'm not ready for anyone to come in here so I should try and wash the floors before it gets to late.
Have a good day all. :)

Melody... good luck catching your mouse. LOL My dh was sitting downstairs in the family room (a few months ago) and a mouse went scurrying across the floor and the cat was not too far behind it. Ten minutes later that mouse was HISTORY! LOL I usually try to catch them myself and bring them back outside and away from the house... but when/if I can't... the cat usually gets them. LOL

After 8 day's of cloudy skies, cold weather and too much rain... we are finally experiencing some decent weather. The sun is finally OUT!!! :yippee: It's surprising how much we let the weather control our moods and attitudes. Everybody's been so darn down/depressed and cranky lately... and now today with the sun shining... all I hear is laughter. Dh even took us all out for breakfast this morning... so even HE'S in a better mood. LOL

Today we'll be going up to mow my FIL's lawn... were waiting for this guy to come and put in the new septic tank and then the For Sale sign will finally go up. Right now they've got road restrictions and their equipment is too heavy... so I'm thinking he'll probably be able to get in there this week sometime. (I hope) The house across the street from us went up for sale on Tuesday and by Wednesday night there was already a SOLD sign on it. I can't believe how fast houses are selling around here. I'm sure my FIL's house will sell real fast... so I'm looking forward to that. It's been pretty hard keeping up two places.

Anyway, I hope the rest of you are all experiencing good weather and having a good time doing whatever you are doing. One more day... I LOVE these three day weekends!!! :)

Diane...

Melody,
I hate mice! We lived in one house (I called it the mouse house) where everytime you turned on the light (when it was dark outside) mice would scurry! It was SOOO GROSSS!!

At our last house we have very few mice but I remember once dd #2 kept saying 'Mom, Mom" I'd say what but was busy looking at something else and didn't look at here. She finally said, 'Mom what is this?" I turn around and she is holding a dead mouse by the tail that she found in the dish towel drawer. I about died!! I made my older boys take it out (by holding on to it with pliers) and then took dd and scrubbed her hands really well. Dh just laughed and thought I was a wimp.

It's a little cloudy here. It was sunny earlier. Dh and the boys cleaned out the garage, scrubbed up the grill and burned the trash this morning. The house is almost in shape for company tomorrow.

Supper with dh's dad and step mom didn't go too bad last night.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Hello everyone!! We have had a great day. Up early for church and then to some friends house for the afternoon. We are now trying to clean up all the mess from dh's party. Ugh! It kills me....you work and work to prepare for a party and then it is over and you have just as much work to do again!!

Tomorrow we are hoping for good weather so we can fly and ride motorcycles. It should be a relaxing day too. It is nice to have dh home for one more day!

Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend. :)

We went to the lake yesterday and then my mom brought dks and I home last night and dh stayed to go "night fishing" with my step dad and bro. We're off to a birthday party this afternoon. I hope to leave early so we can do a little shopping the "The Cities". :D

Melody - Yikes about your mouse. I am such a BIG chicken - that would probably send me to my mom's until it was caught! ROFL!

AAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!!You said the "M" word. Those tiny little critter give me nightmares just thinking of them. I had one run up my leotards one time when I was about 4. I haven't been able to stand them since.

Ryleigh, I would have died having a mouse crawl up my leg! Now I am sitting cross-legged on my chair! LOL

So far, still no mouse. Maybe today is the day.

Karla, I did that the last time we had a mouse. lol But now I have to stay since the kids have school. I really don't think he is anywhere else in the house, he likes the kitchen drawers. :grimace:

Glad everyone had a nice weekend. :)

It's funny how the Sunday thread turned into a mouse thread. I have several interesting stories. When we lived in Portugal we had rats as big as house cats. At night we had to lock the kitchen cabinets to keep them in. You could hear them run across the ceiling at night. Once we found 2 mice drowned in a bottle of Griffins syrup that someone had not put the lid back on well.
One year at school I found 7 baby mice in my stuffed animal collection. The collection was ruined. Some people told me to wash them all in the washer with disinfectant, but I just threw them all away. They'd been nested on all summer. Ohhhh, I'll stop there.

Been there!!!

One time when I was a work I had all the children sitting in a group on the floor in front of me while we read a story. I happen to look up and noticed a mouse and five little babies scurry under one of the toy shelves. Rather than cause a panic attack I just crossed my legs up on my chair and continued on with the story and kept an eye out for our little visitors. One little boy was looking at my funny and when the story ended he asked why I had my legs tucked up. I just told him that we are all suppose to keep our legs tucked up when it is 'circle' or story time. He said " I know, but you're on a chair." The kids all laughed. I dismissed them to my co-worker in the coatroom and buzzed the office to let them get hold of maintenance while we were on the playground. They managed to catch them but I still didn't feel comfortable with my feet on the floor for a few days. :biglaugh::lol::chicken:

He's gone. DH found him in the trap this morning. He woke up ds 1 and kept saying he had a 'surprise' for him and to go look in the kitchen drawer. Well, ds was all excited and got pretty grossed out when he seen it. What was really funny poor ds turned to dh all serious and disappointed and said " and here I thought you made me a hamburger for breakfast and hid it"! ROFL Oh, to be 6 again.

I just have to report another mouse story. The kdg. teachers were all visiting in my room just after the floors had been waxed one day in the summer before school started. Well a mouse came out of my closet and went into the bathroom. All four of us got a broom and stood ready to pummel this poor thing when he came back out. When he did, we just started screaming with our brooms up, but no body moved. The poor mouse was moving his feet 90 miles an hour but going nowhere on the slick floors. It looked like something from a cartoon. He finally escaped and we were still holding our brooms. We had to go get the principal to come do the deed.

You know alot of people are missing out thinking this post is about Sunday.

ROFL! So true!!

ROFL about your mouse story, too!! Last year when we had the one outside dh was trying to sneak up on it and I was watching from the door. Well, dh is a BIG chicken like me, so I screamed when the mouse was no where near him...poor dh...LOL!! We still laugh about it, although he tells me how mean it was! :newwink:
