This is what the food labels say for a 2,000 calorie diet

Total fat less than 65g
Total Carbs less than 300

I don't get it. If I ate anywhere near 65g/fat and 300g/carbs per day I'd be bigger than the broad side of a barn! 8o Can someone tell me what the factors would be with weight loss as a goal? This is what the food labels say, Atkins says this, South Beach says that, blah, blah, blah. I'm so confused! :crazyroll If I want to lose weight what should my fat/calorie/carb intake goal be per day?

This might help.

my nutritionist and thyroid doc both like South Beach for a structured diet plan. according to them, good fats (olive oil, avocadoes, nuts), complex carbs (100% whole wheat), lean proteins, and lots of low glycemic veggies and fruits.

Ann, that website is great! It's got so much good information. They should teach this to kids in health class. I remember taking a health course in hs, but don't remember much, so maybe they tried. I've not had time to read through all of it yet, but it's already answered a lot of questions.

I did find this link for a quick start idea of what my target info should be. I'm just wondering now if it's accurate!

I put in my numbers and it seems pretty accurate. It's a paid diet sight though.

Great! It's nice to know it's not way off. I just like it for the free info, lol. :D
