View Full Version : Morning
Well, ds is on the way to the airport. He left about 30 minutes ago. I know he is going to have a super time!!! But, I have been saying lots of prayers that he comes home saftely!!!!! He gets back Sunday night about 8.
Hope ya'll have a great day. DD has swim practice at 9:30 and I think we are just going to hang out for a while at the pool.
AnnW, I'm sure your ds will have a good time and arrive home safe and sound!
Quiet day for me...but ds has a ball game at 6:00 tonight...he's pitching one
inning...he's excited cause he's pitched 3 games in a row now.
Cool here...only about 14 degress C (@ 58 degrees F) and it should be about 21 C. Sure hope it warms up soon. Guess I shouldn't complain cause at least the rain has stopped!
Have a good day all!

Morning all! Ann - What a fun trip for your ds! It's DC, right?
There is supposed to be another round of lay-offs at dh's company tomorrow. If he survives again, we're going to sign the boys up for church camp if there's still room.
We've just got baseball and end of school stuff today and tomorrow.
My dishwasher is making strange noises and not cleaning very well. I wonder if that's covered under the warranty we have for this money pit?
Have a great day everybody!
I get to see my Mom tonight!! LOL We leave here in 2 1/2 hours for the airport. The children are WOUND UP!! How Im going to survive the next 2 hours will be miracle. LOL Poor Chasen (the dog) is following me around everywhere. I have never left him for this long, so Im having guilt pangs over that too. At least he will be in his own home and not in a kennel.
Dh also graced his presence by calling me at 3:40am this morning!!!!! He was depressed, lonely and without any lovin' (lol) and it was starting to weigh him down. It was up to me to cheer him up without being truly awake. I think I said some funny things-its pretty blurry to me now. LOL
Ann-Im sure ds will have a blast!! There are a lot of chaperones, so he won't go far!
Have a good day and I'll will try and log on in NY with the computer modem from Ancient America. ROFL

Sort of overcast here today. We have a wedding to go to out of town on Saturday and ds's party on Sunday, so I have been trying to start cleaning and organizing for that. Also got ds's closet organized this morning and that felt great! :) I love opening a door to find a clean organized closet! LOL!
AnnW - Your ds will have a blast! And, they will take good care of him!! :)
Amy/CO - Have an awesome trip!!! :yippee:
Donna - Hope your dh gets thru the next round of layoffs!!!
morning flew by, ds had a morning program we had to go to...then off to the store for laundry detergent...LOL...always forgetting something...doing some light loads today...cleaned the kitchen and played with dd.....making chicken fried steak for dinner, and I can't wait...dh won't be home till late so I am making meat...
AnnW....your son will have a great time, how wonderful for him....

Were having another gorgeous day today... After having 8 day's of rain we sure do appreciate having some sunshine again. :) It's been nice being able to get the kids back outside for a little while each day again.
Dh and I have to go to my mom and dad's house tonight to till my mom's garden for her. Because of her surgery she's getting a late start. She was quite disappointed yesterday when the doctor told her that he still didn't want her lifting or pushing anything over 15 pounds... which meant no shoveling or tilling for her. She very reluctantly asked us for some help. LOL Her asking for help at ALL is a miracle.... so I knew that this must be something that was very important to her. Gardening is about the only thing that she enjoy's doing during the summer... so there is no way I'd make her go without one so... were always glad to help. I only wish that sometimes one of my other sisters and their dh's could pitch in and help a little bit more often too. Sometimes it's pretty hard being the only ones that they depend upon for help.
Anyway, better get going and get my meatballs made for supper. Everybody wanted spaghetti and meatballs tonight so I better get moving if I want to get them done... before somebody else finds something else for me to do. LOL

We have a group of 8th graders that went to DC this week as well. The daughter of a friend of mine went on the trip.
Sounds like they are going to have a blast. I already told my daughter (who is 10 yr old) to get ready, when her 8th grade class goes to DC, I'm going as a chaperone whether she goes or not... LOL

Ann, I'm sure he will come back all excited and happy and safe.
Amy, have a fun trip. I envy you, I would love to be able to say I am going to see my mom soon. August is just not comming soon enough.
Diane, have fun doing your mom's garden
We have the school fun fair tonight. It's cold and dreary but at least not raining. I hope a few of the games are in the gym so we can warm up. It should be fun though.
Have a great evening everyone.
Thanks everyone! I know he will have a super time. I was really fine with it till someone said "you are letting your child on an airplane without you??? I could never do that! I love my child too much" Huh???? I don't?? It's really funny how this has turned into a "good" parent issue with some people around here.
Donna..good luck to your dh. BTW..do you know where McAllister, OK is? DS is going to boy scout camp there (Hale Scout Reservation)
Amy..have fun..you probably have left already! LOL

I can't believe I haven't been on the computer all day until now!!! Can you say....withdrawl?? LOL We've had a great day today. Two of my neighbors and their children came over at about 9:30 this morning and stayed until 4:30. We started with coffee, fed the kids lunch and went inside just in time to get dinner started for our dh's. Except for my dh who is bringing dinner home.
I am going to get everything packed tonight so I know if I am missing anything! Friday is almost here!!!!

Can you come clean and organize mine next. It was on my list but didn't get done yesterday. It's a huge walk in closet you can barely step in now. I did get my bedroom and bathroom cleaned from ceiling to floor. Dh does the vacuuming, but of course that's only out in the open where you don't have to move anything. I did the walls, baseboards, door moldings, and all the furniture. The closet though is such a disaster area.
