((((Renee)))) I don't know if you can interview or not, but I would give it a try. I hope you find another job soon. It sux that they are treating you that way. All I can do is offer an ear and tell you I hope things get better.
((hugs)) what a crappy way to treat you. Maybe this is your door opening...all you have to do is have the courage to walk through it. You started this job with a temp agency. Can you go back to that until you find a good fit?

I'm so sorry that it's come down to this. :( I just can't believe how unfair some people can be, and I'm sure it's left you feeling pretty unappreciated. I hope and pray that something bigger and better will come your way, and that they'll appreciate you and all your hard work. Hang in there... :)
Diane...
They can not terminate your benefits while you are on disability. Perhaps having a weeks rest is a good thing, you can rest and heal your hand, and everyone can calm down. But I know that trapped feeling when your kids need insurance and you are the only one providing it. Hang in there!
(((Renee))) hang in there. You will get through this.

Keeping you in my prayers. It definitely seems anymore that if you get hurt, especially on the job, the employer just uses it as a way to terminate employment- regardless of how beneficial your work is to the company. I've have heard countless stories of people who have gotten hurt due to circumstances beyond their control but yet they end up being treated wrongly.
(Sorry that's not cheering you up at all is it? ) Please know that we're all behind you. Maybe this is just a nudge from God to move in a different direction.

I have a feeling that you'll probably end up in a much better position/job than you've been in. Will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

They can not terminate your benefits while you are on disability.
That depends on the state you reside in. I am a preschool teacher (PA) I was kicked by one of my students in my left hand causing nerve damage. I have had 2 surguries to try and repair the damage with no success. My employer terminated my insurance, workers compensation still pays for medical bills associated with injury, but had to put my family on hubby's insurance which isn't nearly as good as what i had. Accorrding to state law they only have to keep me on their insurance for the duration of FMLA after that time they have to offer you Cobra which would have cost almost the entire amount of my worker compensation benefit. They also froze my retirement and are no longer contibuting to it. My doctor has said i can return to work with modifications (1 handed duty) however my employer says there is no job I can do with that limitation. I have now been on workers compensation a little over 2 yrs. They have repeatedly threatened to terminate my employment because I can't do the duties in my job description.
I didn't think this sounded right after all I was hurt on the job so I met with an attorney who said this is all legal at least in this state. This is a freedom to work state and your employer can terminate you at any time for any reason or for no reason unless you have a signed contract that states otherwise.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I would consult an attorney ASAP to find out what right you have if any.
