I just read the book about Lance Armstrong, the cyclist who had testicular, lung, and brain cancer. Yet, he overcame that to win the Tour De France twice.

I never realized he was from Texas, so I'm curious if you have any Lance stories, good or bad.

The book "Its Not About the Bike" was very good.

Texas is pretty big, so despite outward appearances, I really don't know everyone here! :newwink:

To be honest, I had never heard of him until the tour de France.

I figured that is was a shot in the dark, but often the world is smaller then we think!

Since we lived in Bloomington, the home of John Mellencamp, we would always have people ask questions. I only saw him in public once in my 10 years in Bloomington. Of all things, John Mellencamp was in Kroger buying some fried chicken! I was sacking groceries in the summer and it was all the buzz when he walked in the store.

I've never actually talked to him, but my wife worked with his first wife for years.

Its funny, Jeff (from the Idea Box) and I were chatting one day and realized that a guy that was in his wedding lived on my dorm floor my freshman year.

Maybe the world isn't small, maybe its just Indiana....

:moo:

I think he is from Austin...that's about 3 hours from here.
Jaclyn Smith (the Charlie's Angel)'s dad officed on the same floor that I did and I would see her all the time. She was gorgeous!!
