Last day of school! :yippee: :happydnc: :yippee:
We had a short staff meeting at 12:30. Our budget for classroom supplies is going from $35.00 (which it has been for the past 16 years) to $250.00. I was so excitied. Of course there will be no central supply. Then I worked in my room until 3:30 and actually got everything put up. This used to be a 2 day job. With the new furniture on rollers I don't have to take everything out and store in my closet. If I don't want my walls washed, I didn't have to take down anything from the walls. Before, everthing I owned had to be boxed up and stored and the walls had to be bare.

They are cleaning our building first so chances are I'll be back at school in a few weeks to set back up and re-organize that closet. I've got several things I want to work on this summer too.

But, I'm free. I can sleep in tomorrow. The dog goes to the groomers at 11:30 and ds starts his volunteer work at 1:00 at the animal shelter. He is so excited. I hope I haven't made a mistake. I took him last week to sign up and in the time it took to fill out the paper work I started sneezing because of the cats. I became allergic a couple of years ago and had to get rid of our 3 cats. Now ds will be bringing home cat hair.

Can't wait to enjoy long quite cups of coffee in the den each morning. I'm going to try to do Tae Bo this summer. I've lost about 20 pounds and would like to lose 10 to 15 more. Right now I seem to be stuck.

How exciting to be done and to get good news at the end of the year (re: the budget)!! :yippee:

I have a friend who does Tae Bo every day. I have the tape, but have yet to do it. Have you ever tried it? Let me know if you like it. :)

Enjoy Kat!!! I'll join you in the "land of lazy summeer days" next week...Our last school day is Thursday. Can't wait. I have the Kdg Graduation at 1:00 pm on Thurs., and then a cookies/juice social. And then, I get to spend my days at home...waiting for my paychecks to arrive in the mail :). Gotta love it!!!

We also have a $250 supply budget per classroom, and no central supply. I'd rather have the central suppy...it's so hard to estimate how much construction paper, paint, etc. you'll use. I spend at least $100-150 per year on paper alone!

Ann, I have done Tae Bo in the past and I do like it, but with the extra weight it was difficult, plus there just wasn't much room in the bedroom to move. Now with the new TV/VCR in the living room I'll have more room and I'm already 20 pound lighter. That should help more than anything. I've got the Tae Bo Gold tape which is advertised for men and women over 40  , and the workout is about 20 minutes once you get started. It's got 50's and 60's music and is alot of fun.

MaryL, the life of leisure awaits. Of course if you are like me you spend a fair amount of your summer working on school stuff anyway. I've got my first workshop on Monday. There's always file folder games to make/repair, new bulletin boards to make (I hate the same old tired boards), new visuals to make, I love making my own big books, the list goes on. I'm usually at school 2 days a week doing something for an hour or two.
