View Full Version : Friday
Once again TGIF! I think we are going to try and go to the drive-in tonight. It won't be humid today, so getting cuddled up in the back seat of the car sounds nice instead of sticky. LOL
I still have remnants of the stupid posion ivy. Lovey (the CO-WORKER kat! LOL) says I look like I have lepersee (sp) and the added fact that I haven't been able to shave really turns them all on. LOL

Switching car's with Dawn this morning. Waiting for her to come over so we can do that. Their truck isn't working AGAIN... and they've been borrowing dd #3's fiancee's old car but they need it back because they promised it to his dad... so of course that only leaves my car to borrow. Ugh... I'm strongly suggesting they hurry up and get the truck fixed or go out and buy a different one... which I'm sure they can't afford. I'll always give what I can to give... but I'm just not willing to give it up for too long. I've got my bike, but seeing my mom doesn't even know about it... can't really go pick her up on it to take her to the grocery store. :biglaugh: Hopefully they'll (mainly James) will get his butt in gear and get it done. He's usually the type to sit back and take his time... but this is MY car were talking about. LOL
Dd #3's coming over for a visit today. She might pick up something on the way over for lunch. Her and her fiancee are leaving for out of town to deliver the car to his dad's and to spend the weekend. :) I wish they would have picked a less active weekend to do it... don't like them driving in all the traffic. Oh yeah... we also get the ferrets back for a few day's. Not too sure how I feel about it. They're like a couple of two year olds... gotta get into EVERYthing. I know I'm going to probably have to ferret proof the house a little before they get here.
Dh and my night out by ourselves tonight... don't know where were going but after the week I've had I don't rightly care, as long as I get out of here. LOL I ended up with Dawn/Sarah here all day yesterday when I was expecting to have the day to myself to do my laundry, clean the house up a little and have a little bit of time to myself in the back yard sitting/relaxing by the pool reading one of my magazines... but that never happened. :) Oh well... at least we have the long weekend. LOL
Hope you all have a great day!!
TGIF is right.... Oh Amy the drive in sounds fun. Dh is taking us to dinner tonight to start our vacation. We are off for 9 whole days starting at 4:30 pm.
I am so looking forward to sitting in my swing and doing nothing. We are going to do some day trips but nothing crazy, since we both work, and the kids are at day camp all day...we are never just home.
Happy Friday All.

Sounds like a good time, Renee. How's your hand doing? Did it ever get back to normal?
Amy, thanks for the clarification!
Jenn, have a wonderful time at the beach even if being in the house may prove somewhat stressful.
Vea, yippee about the sun.
Karla, enjoy your meeting up with your friend and your afternoon with kids.
Diane, I know how you feel about your car. I can't stand not having mine, even if I'm never going anywhere. Ds would sometimes borrow the truck which meant dh had my car which meant I had nothing and I always felt stuck. Hoepfully James will work quickly.
I have absolutely no plans for today. It's beautiful out but supposed to be about 96. I'm not a heat person. I may have to just sit down and read one of the many novels I'm behind on. I did manage to get caught up on my magazines. Dil called yesterday to see if I had the kids or did she need to call ds (her weekend). Well, duh, call ds he's got them. Makes me wonder if her family has been watching my every move, knows I went up there Wed. and just assumes I brought the kids back with me. I have got to quit letting that girl get to me.
Sounds like a good time, Renee. How's your hand doing? Did it ever get back to normal?
I got a clean bill of health on Monday.
seems fine, but I am not doing marathon data entry session anymore either.
Thanks for asking.

oh sounds like ya'll are all going to be busy one way or another .. neat ..
we are going to be busy for the weekend .. have lots to do around here. lololol
and we have gotten a puppy; a jack russell, she is tiny and very quiet Bill says. She is on truck with Bill for rite now .. he is bringing her home with him.
need to get a blankie crocheted and some toys for her. need to figure out a name if he hasn't by tonite when he gets home .. lol was thinking of taboo since puppies/ doggies had always been taboo for me .. prefer cats.
anyways .. only showers predicted over the weekend .. otherwise great weekend predicted.
sun is shining today .. yesss .. yes yes .. lololol
Took yesterday and today off work. Ran errands all morning and then just watched "Last Holiday". Cute movie. Bunch of stuff going on this weekend, I'll try and catch up here when I get a chance.

Change of plans, DD has a fever over 101, so I called the office, I will be taking her to the doctors as soon as they can get me an appointment. Poor baby. So we are taking it easy
Good morning! I have today off for Canada Day tomorrow. DH left for his weekend ball tourny this morning and I've managed to clean the rec room and eat breaky. Not sure what today holds other than more cleaning and having dinner out with BIL and his wife and ds tonight.
Jen...margarita bucket...where can I get one of those? ENJOY!!!
Renee, hope your dd feels better soon.
Change of plans, DD has a fever over 101, so I called the office, I will be taking her to the doctors as soon as they can get me an appointment. Poor baby. So we are taking it easy
what are her other symptoms? has she been sick this week (sorry if i skimmed). my pedi suggests waiting for at least 3 days before coming in unless the fever is over 103.
worked. talked to my boss about my frustrations, and he sort of aimed it back at me on how i should handle my frustrations. i told him that it's becoming apparantly clear that me not working the drive thru is causing issues and i think he should transfer me out..he said he wouldn't. grrr
i did talk to one of my customers who works for a Lexus dealership across the street (alot of the employees there come in to our store). told him that now that my ds is better, i am contemplating working full time and asked if they were hiring in any customer service areas. he was very encouraging, told me to put something together and he would make a presentation on my behalf because he could think of several areas that i might be good at. i did tell him that Starbucks was my reentry into the work world and he didn't seem phased at all about a gap in employement. so, i will be working on a resume this weekend!
dd has gotten a job! she is going to be a mother's helper to one of our neighbhors who has about a 3 month old and a 4 year old. she is going to play with the 4 year old. and she is getting $25 a week! i think the child is going to be bringing home a bigger paycheck than me! LOL
she is going to a friend's lakehouse for the weekend.

She has been feeling punky most of the week...dh is sick and on antibiotics....so I need to her seen especially since we are going into a holiday weekend, her ears are bugging her too...argh....

OH Ann that is wonderful about Lexus, its nice that you have made some contacts through starbucks....brush off that resume and get going girly.
Sooo tired this morning! Dh and dd pulled in at 1:30 this morning and we didn't get to bed until 2:00. Dh and dd are still sleeping and I'm doing crowd control. Dd2, ds1 and ds2 are so excited to see them they can hardly wait.
Not sure what's planned for today. Probably nothing much. We may go to Mom's later for dessert or dh and I may go out.
Ann, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Renee, I hope your dd feels better soon.

Got a lot of housework done yesterday but still have more I need to do in the laundry room and bedrooms. The rec room hasn't seen me in ages so once I make the kids clean it this weekend with the toys in there, I can go in and clean it. lol
Going to a pool/bb party this afternoon. Ds1 is going to a friends for a couple of hours before we go.
Renee, hope dd is feeling better soon.
Hope you all have a good day :)

I think that is her nickname for him.
Well now, that makes sense!
Ann, that's encouraging about the Lexus dealership. Too funny about your dd making more money than you (but not really, eh?).
Did some more housework since I've been on last. Got the laundry room floor cleaned and washed and am cleaning my sink like the flylady suggests. Got some gunk cleaned out of the slider door frame.
The contractor came and parged our addition yesterday for us. He told me we have to keep it "wet" for 72 hours. He said lightly mist it with the hose 3 times per day. This is a long weekend in Canada. It's a good thing I am home this weekend, lol.

Jen...margarita bucket...where can I get one of those? ENJOY!!!
Anywhere they sell drink mixers. I've never used one but figure it'll be good to keep in the downstairs freeze. From what I can tell, all you do is pour in the mix they provide, mix with warm water, add a bottle of your buddy Jose Cuervo and freeze for several hours. I bought the cranberry flavored one. We'll see how it goes.

Maybe your dd can ask her employer if she knows anyone else who needs a helper and your dd can recommend you :newwink:
ok, the doctors office called and my regular ped. is going on vacation and they are routing everyone to urgent care...argh 2 hours and 20 minutes later, dd has a script for anitbiotics, she has a raging ear infection, (we forgot those after swim drops a few days last week :( ) I got the script filled made an early lunch and am sitting here wiped out. So our vacation has started off with a bang.

Well, I am back from the hospital. Everything went okay. They took him back at 11 and he was out by 12. They got his blood a little too thin, so they had to leave the tube in a little longer than normal. He was put in a room about 2, and they let him have a turkey sandwich, but he had to eat it lying flat on his back because he couldn't get off his back until 8 tonight. I talked to mom a minute ago, and she said they were getting him up and getting him some more food, and after they got him settled, she would probably come home. He should get to come home tomorrow sometime around lunch. Thanks for all the prayers ladies. They definitely helped!

Without her even knowing we have them, every time she hears about a motorcycle accident she goes on about how dangerous those "things" are and how she just doesn't understand how anyone would go on one of them. ??? So....... would you tell her? LOL I'm just saving myself the pain/agony of having to listen to her go on about it and her the stress/worry. I'm thinking were doing the right thing in not telling her.

So how many of you have a long weekend?? It's just a regular ole weekend here. Go back to work Monday, have Tuesday off and work Wednesday. :( I wish the 4th would have been a Friday.
Hot busy day. Pajama party at work. Girls did make overs. They convinced one boy to paint his fingernails. They tricked him into wearing lipstick, telling him that it goes on clear. It was bright red! Then they did a fashion show for everyone. (the boy wouldn't do it.)
Suppose to head to my sister's & Bil's tomorrow for BBQ and fireworks. Should be fun.
I REALLY need to stay home and help dd #1 on her sewing and get this house cleaned.
Ann, good luck with the job prospect.

Diane, she sounds a lot like my gm in the worry department. Everytime an ambulance goes by I can expect a call from my gm to tell me she heard an ambulance and was just checking to make sure it hadn't been called for me. She also calls my mom & dad. We live within a mile of each other. My sister on the mountain also gets a call because the ambulance would have to go by gm's house to get to my sister's. My baby sister never gets the calls because my gm would never hear an ambulance called to her house since she lives 5 miles south of everyone else. God love them!

LOL... sounds just like my mom. :) I think half of it is that she doesn't have anything else to do or think about... so she sits and worries. LOL It's funny how she never seems to miss a thing that goes on in her neighborhood either, and she's always got an opinion about it. LOL I'd worry if my kids had bikes too.. so I totally understand where she's coming from, but I just don't want to put her through all that worry, nor do I want to be put through all the b!tching and complaining about us having them either. That I couldn't tell you. I was thinking they were going to bring him broth or something, but nope, they brought him a turkey sandwich. They do this everytime. I know he is starving, by the time it is all over, but it aggrivates me that they bring sandwiches and not soup or something until he can sit up.

Dh took Monday off so we've got a 4 dayer, except that I might have Sarah on Monday. James forgot and went and made an appointment, so it depends upon whether he can change that or not. I'd love to have it off so we can come/go as we please. That and now dh's decided he wants to finally (after trying to convince him for 3 years) rip out all the bushes in the front yard and replace them, so that will take a few day's to do. :) We'll see if he actually does it though. 8o LOL

We have the ferrets back for the weekend... almost forgot just how fun they are to have around, but also all that they can get into. :) Within the first 10 minutes they were here one of them got into a plant I forgot to take off from my end table. I had dirt EVERYWHERE... and I had just gotten done changing the furniture around and vacuuming the floor so, had that to do all over again. LOL I said that was my fault because I knew thats what they'd do if they found it. :) Anyway... had to go out and replant my plant and find a new place to put that until they go back home. LOL It's been quite a while since they've been here but seem to remember everything, including sleeping in dh's underware drawer. :biglaugh: Caught them hauling movies up the stairs... have no clue where they thought they were going to bring them. LOL I'm sure that by the time they come back on Monday I'll be more than ready for them to go back home. :)
Hope you're all having a great day.

when i had one of my spinal taps, you have to lay flat on your back. they brought me broth and rice...not easy to eat either of those laying flat on your back either! LOL
glad it went well.
That's actually worse. Thin liquids and mixed textures are very difficult to control, and rice is difficult to form a bolus out of. I'm calling the SLPs at both hospitals and telling on the nurses!

They definitely helped!
sounds like good news leigh!! :)
