View Full Version : Suddenly my safe little town ain't so!
:\ There was a bomb threat at the theater (10 min from here) tonight. I'm not sure how it all ended, but it's really un-nerving.
To top that we had two helicopters flying over most of the afternoon and evening. Come to find out there's a fugitive loose in the neighborhood with a 9mm Beretta and not afraid to use it. They had the dogs out but apparently the man was sticking to the river, so they couldn't find him. The helicopters are gone, but there's slim to no chance of me sleeping tonight.
It makes me wonder how much stuff we miss when dh has the scanner off! 8o

yikes... :nervous: don't think I would be sleeping too well either.
I know when I was in high school every year on the day before exams someone would phone in a bomb threat. They knew it was likely a hoax, but had to evacuate the school anyway. They never did catch the culprit. Hope the one at the your theatre was just a hoax as well.
I hope you hear word today that they caught the fugitive that escaped. I remember quite a few years back someone escaped around here. They chased him through many small towns and finally caught him in the park where my Mom lives. Luckly the park was empty at the time. Hope you were able to get some rest.

How scary... It's really sad when you can't feel safe in your own home. :(
No news yet. Dh will probably have the scanner on while I'm gone today and may hear something.
If we don't hear anything then we have several friends in law enforcement that we can call to get the scoop!
We used to live in Leavenworth, KS, near the Lansing prison and one year they had eight prisoners escape at once! 8o One was a convicted murderer and they were all armed. It was really freaky until they finally caught them all. 8o
I'll let ya'll know what I hear.
that is really scary. Let us know what you hear

I may never hear more details. Our little hamlet here rarely makes the news (even for stuff like this), and I doubt dh will get more info from his friend in law inforcement.
