Tuesday I went to the book story and got The Prayer of Jabez, I got a free book for buying a Christian book the guys says and gives me the first book in The Left Behind series. It is awesome! I have read the first 13 chapters in the past two days. I didn't think I would like it but it is awesome! Have you read it?

I have read the first seven books -- the eighth one has been out for a while, but I haven't gotten it yet (waiting for paperback)...I really like the series and wish I had written down or highlighted some of the important scripture passages that were used...The movie was released in theaters this past February...You can rent the video, too.

Yes, I read the first 7 and am working on the last one. I really enjoyed the series even though I have a totally different take on the prophecies in Rev. I believe they were directed to 1st century Christians concerning the fall of Rome.

Yes! I am current with the series and look forward to the next one out. It has really been interesting to me and I enjoy the scripture references.

Also, I just finished Prayer of Jabez this morning. It really gave me a different outlook and I intend to follow the prayer :)

Rae, I have heard quite a bit about this book. It's kind of a self-help book, right? I know that it's from a really obscure part of the bible. Can you tell me more.

I'd be happy to! :) The book is very small...92 pages and based on a prayer buried in Chronicles - 1Chronicles 4:10 to be exact. Not much is know about this man except that he used this prayer and God granted his request. The author, Bruce Wilkinson, has been using the prayer for years and it has blessed his life and that of others using it. There's a web site about it - http://www.prayerofjabez.com

What took me by surprise is the thought of asking for blessing for me. I grew up with the thought of asking for others, not self but after reading the book I understand it is not selfish, but what God wants. I hope this has helped some. Let me know if you have more questions :)
