Ideas on Birds and Fishes

Any ideas on how to make our 2 preschoolers look like birds and the other 2 look like fishes at a school play. All ideas will be appreciated. Thank you.

Birds? Maybe headbands with feathers on it and a cardboard "beak". Cardboard wings covered with feathers or feather like material.
Not sure about the fish. I'll think about that one.... Maybe use a shiny or metallice material to make a basic tunic and cardboard "fins" decorated with shiny or metallic paint?
