Good morning!
I woke up totally clogged up. I can't decide if it's a cold or allergies, but I feel really "junky." Ack! I am going to a viewing/visitation today, my Aunt passed away day before yesterday. I hadn't seen her in a number of years and she'd been really ill. My brother is going to pick me up and my inlaws will keep the kids until brichard gets home tonight. After my mom & brothers spend some time with my cousin we are going out to dinner for my oldest brother's birthday. I'm looking forward to spending some time with my mom, seems like I haven't seen her much this summer. The funeral is tomorrow and brichard will go with me to that.
Have a great day everyone!

(((Angie))) Sorry for your loss.
I'm sooooooooooo tired....didn't get to bed ubtil almost 12. and woke up @ 6
dbf and father are going down to new haven to get pizza......supposed to be one of the best in the state. I think I'll stay in tonight and rest.
Yesterday was just crazy. Started off by getting kids on cots then the fire drill goes off. then things like the 3 oclock dismissal did not go smooth for us.
Then the parent meeting was nuts....It was supposed to be 6:30-7:30...dinner @5:30....well parents realized they were there and din't watch their children during this time...so we were working from 5:30 on...on the playground with about 20 elementry kids.
Anyway I'm just babbling.
Have a great day!
Angie, sorry about your loss.
Vea-get sleep or better yet, go to the gym. That will revive you. :)
I don't know how I feel yet today. My feelings are both content and bored. LOL I think I am ready for Fall and a new routine. We went to school yesterday to decorate dd's locker and we met her teachers. She was able to look at her class list and there are a great bunch of kids (including her best friend) on her class list. She is SOOOO excited about starting this year. Last year was so toxic because she was with the same class for 2 years and she didn't quite fit into any cliques comfortably. She was convinced that the teacher played favorites and she wasn't one of them. A fresh start with a new class and new school is going to do her good. We also stopped at ds's school to drop off his school supplies. I am more concerned for him. He is impulsive and doesn't have much of an attention span (for schoolwork/learning things he doesn't care about that is  ) So I am wondering how 2nd grade will go for him. I am going to be a volunteer in the classroom, so I will have a pulse on the situation. As for me, I am joining the gym! I know I will need to get out of the house on a daily basis, so I don't get in a rut of eating/computer/tv/business work.

Angie... so sorry for your loss. I hope you enjoy some time with your mom.
Getting Sarah early this morning... hoping that means I'll be getting done early too. Not that I don't like/enjoy spending time with her but I haven't gotten a whole lot done around my house this week because I've been so busy with/for everyone else. LOL I'm looking forward to the long weekend, although they're forecasting rain for all 3 day's, it will be nice having dh home to spend some alone time with.
Our night out by ourselves tonight... don't know where were going yet, then to Wal Mart to pick up a few things. Not much else...
Hope you all have a great day.

We started school this week. Ds1 is in 7th grade, and ds2 is in 5th. No problems with the beginning of the year. My kindergarten classes are okay...but it's been a slow start! LOL Oh my...I miss the group I had all "trained" from last year. :bawling: It is always hard at the beginning of the year...and I know they'll catch on, but it's a slow process.
We have today off (that's a nice way to start the year!!) and the boys and I are just hanging out. I'm hoping to get some cleaning done and have some school projects to prep.
The weather is so gorgeous!!! 70's and low humity. Nice!!!

I agree with MaryL, Vea... go with them and get some of that pizza!!! Getting out and having some fun may just be what you need... (better than staying home feeling tired and doing nothing... :( )

Don't really think I was invited....His dad was looking to come here @ 5 and chat with me until dbf got home@ 5:30 but I don't get home until after 6. so when his father emailed me I told him he's more then welcome to wait her until dbf gets home. He said he'll be here at 5:30 and wait in the parking lot...I may try going to drop off a key.
But dbf is bringing me back some.

Angie - Sorry for your loss
Vea - I agree get out and have some FUN
Amy - sounds like dd is going to have a great year. Ds will benefit from you volunteering as well....ds was like that too, well he still is, must be a boy thing, unless he is really interested he would get into trouble for talking/fidgiting. hang in there. The Gym sounds heavenly, isn't FALL Awesome?
Diane - Enjoy your night out.

Rainy day here with the hurricane moving across. Nothing planned except probably going to buy a new computer today. We looked last night (since I killed mine the other day and have half way revived it. LOL) and think we made up our minds.
Dh is seeing the dr. about the arthritis and stress test he ordered dh to take.... can't wait to hear how the appt. goes.
Oh yeah, I have to work tonight! Love when I nearly forget that.

Happy Friday!
School this morning and then we're going on a tour of a rock crushing plant and an asphalt plant this afternoon.
Sorry for your loss, Angie.
Can't believe it's 11:30 and we're two pages in to the Friday thread, lol!
Looks like lots of you are busy today. I'm working, of course. Not sure what's up for this evening. Dh might be going fishing with a friend...I hope he does. He needs to relax. If he does, I'll join a friend for coffee/catch-up.
Diane, you sound like my sister. She loves her granddaughter (Victoria) but she sees her every day. They live in the same townhouse complex and she says they bring the baby over constantly and ask sis to watch her for a bit. I'm thinking of taking Victoria for a night myself. I can't seem to get enough of her, but then I don't see her every day, lol...I can't wait for her to give hugs :) We met my sister and the baby at my Dad's last night and many patients just loved seeing a baby.
Sista...go get a new computer. I just love how much faster ours is...I love my 19 inch flat screen a lot too.
Angie, sorry for your loss (hugs).

((Angie)) sorry for your loss.
Uh, Leigh, I bet the porch can wait until dh has time. lol I vote for snuggling with your ds instead. :)
The kids are happy playing with friends, glad to be home. Dh, ds3 and I all had a good sleep in this am. Needed that. Ds1 had a friend sleep over so they slept in too. We have a party to go to this afternoon. Work party for dh at bil's. Should be fun, kids are happy they get to go play with their cousins in the pool. My dn is a year or two younger than ds2 and is such a little fish. I love to watch him swim, I swear he comes up for less air than a dolphin does. lol I am so amazed by how well he swims. :) His brother and my ds1 swim well too but this little guy is just something to watch. Ds2 is doing a little better with it this year, he is getting a little braver and going just a little deeper, not over his head, mouth yet but getting there. I think he's now wanting to so that's good. I need to check out swim lesson times for fall.
I was hoping to dig some clothes out of the crawl space today but I think it'll have to wait until tomorrow morning.
Cannot believe the kids start school on Tuesday. Where did the summer go? I'm getting the double wammy, ds1 starts taking the bus to high school (well, grade 7 at the same building as high school) and ds3 starting junior K. I'm a little concerned on how things will go with ds2 since he is no longer taking any ADHD meds and right now, we have no intentions of putting him back on any of them. There are a couple we haven't tried but reading about the side effects, it'll be over my dead body. I really don't know where we are going to be through this school year with the teachers, I hope who he has this year has plenty of experience because I can see this being a bumpy ride. :( BUT, my son is back, he's not a little bump on the log, he's more active and he's HAPPY! :)
Guess I should fly and get ready to go soon. Hope you all have a good day :)

I shouldn't complain... they never ever take advantage of us or ask us to take care of her unless they really NEED to be somewhere and can't take her with... otherwise they always include her in what/where they're going. It's just that sometimes when everyone else needs/wants you too... there just isn't any time left for me to get done what I need/want to get done. LOL
I'm lucky I'm not my sister. She totally enables one of her dd's... She's no sooner leaving work (not even out of the parking lot yet) and her cell phone is ringing asking her to come over to watch the kids. (two kids... ages 6 and 3) He say's that he's (so called) going to "work out" at the gym... but I don't believe for one minute that that's where he's going. My sister is there at least 5 nights a week... and also on the weekends, and not for just a little while... for HOURS. She complains to me... a lot, but continues to do it. They're even taking her to Florida with them... she thinks because they want her there, but I know it's so they have someone there to watch the kids while they go out. Anyway... totally none of my business but sometimes I wonder why they even bothered having kids. (and they are such good kids too) I'll shut up now... LOL

Angie, I'm sorry. I neglected to give you my condolences. ((hugs))
It's been an interesting day. Ernesto is moving across VA and we've had lots of rain and wind and lost power for about 4 hrs. My boss (at Hallmark) couldn't make up her mind what to do about calling the night shift in or not. Many phone calls later, I'm going to work. Boo. LOL We'll see what kind of traffic we have.

I haven't forgot, but I never got finished nesting, and it is driving me insane. i probably did too much today, and I am sure I will pay for it, but at least it is done now, and I won't have to worry about it, so I can enjoy him.

Ooooh... I never thought of the nesting thing when you deliver early! 8o Maybe it's good you got it out of your system.
Angie, I'm very sorry for your loss.
Yippee! A 3-day weekend. Our principal e-mailed everyone today and forbid any of us from working at school this weekend. Said they were re-waxing the floors. so I had to stay late today getting all the things I needed to do for next week. The up side is, I don't need to go to school at all this weekend. Grandbabies are with ds this weekend. He has them until Monday. Dgs' birthday is tomorrow. They are coming down on Sunday for a little celebration. Mom & Dad will be here too. Dad leaves at the crack of dawn Monday to go to his reunion in Colorado.
My sister came down yesterday for more testing. Planned on telling mom & dad about the cancer, but starting hurting real bad at the pharmacy and asked her dh to take her on home. I'm really worried, she waited too long. She also has COPD and has been on oxygen for a month, so she's already compromised for the surgery.
Ds has gone to the first home game. He's pumped about his senior year. We got his senior pic proofs this week and think we'll have them redone with another photographer. They were really not very good. I refuse to pay the outlandish price they are charging for pics I could easily have taken myself.
Well, since I have the house to myself and I'm give out, I think I'll turn in early tonight. Need to get up early tomorrow to shop for birthday presents and pick up a cake.
went to dinner with the kids, had a nice time, we went to Verizon store and got one of those Migo (kids phones) they can call dh on his cell or me on mine, as many times as they need free... 911 only...its about 10 bucks a month, but now I can have them call me when they get to school. turn it off, when school is out they can call me when they get home, and I will have peace of mind....
got our plans set for tomorrow, we are meeting my brother and his youngest at Denny's and then off to LA....should be a great day out, and educational too...at the Museum of Science and Industry they are having a D C Comics exhibit too so that is a plus....for my brother mostly...HA HA HA
DS is totally stoked about seeing the Tar Pits and the excavations that are actually on going that you can watch....Ok I am excited too....

Will you let us know how you like it after you've had it a while? I got ds the Firefly last year and we hate it. Would like to get him something else. Those GPS phones look cool.

Why don't you like it...is that through T-Mobile?
what are the features your not liking? just curious
I really just want them to be able to call me when they get to school and home, I didn't want them to actually have a "Phone" they can't call anyone else, there are two more buttons we can pre progam, but I haven't set them up....this one has GPS capabilities, but I didn't get it yet...I can add it as well as the chaparone, if they leave thier designated zone, the phone will text message me that they are out of thier zone...each service cost more $

Its not programmed very well and is difficult to navigate - even for me, let alone a 9 year old. I also don't like the fact that the prepaid minutes expire after a certain amount of time. I've lost money on that.

That would be great! I would get that, but they'd have to have the phone with them. If you're at work, they could just leave it at home and go anywhere they wanted. Not that they would. My ds3 wouldn't either. Now ds1, that's a different story!!
I like that its part of our family plan, programing our cell numbers was a little tricky, there are no numbers on the key pad...so they can not dial anyone but the pre set buttons.....
http://search.vzw.com/?market=92267&q=migo
We did get the chaparone or gps activated just for that reason, its only good if the child has the phone with them and since they are just walking to and from school I want to assume they will be ok...next year when ds goes to Jr. High I might get that service...
