View Full Version : How to you all juggle it all
I am feeling pretty darn good about this job change, but I still feel like I don't have a good handle on the MOMMY side of my life...how to you all juggle work, family, housework, and DOWN time? I feel like my weekend just fly by...I spend time with the kid, wish I could spend more time with them one on one. I am hoping to take each one out of school once this year and spend an afternoon alone with them. But that doesn't seem like it will be anytime soon....
How are you all doing it....am I just feeling like I am out of the groove or does everyone feel like they aren't getting it too....argh....
I think you have a great handle on everything. You spent Friday night watching movies with your kids and you have coffee with your dh every Sat. am. Time just goes by faster as we get older and it seems like we aren't doing enough, but you are.

Heck I'm home all day and still feel like I don't juggle it well enough. I always thought you sounded like you handle everything so well. My energy has been so low lately and I wonder if I will ever get caught up. My mom keeps telling me that the only thing that matters is the kids are healthy, we all spend time together and the house can wait (easy to say for her, she's the neat freak). I do try to listen to that, sometimes too well. lol
heck, i only work 4 hours a day and you are so much more together than me!!!! stop beating yourself up, you do a great job!
Thanks ladies,
Sometimes I feel so quilty for not being around as much as when I was a SAHM...

Quit being so hard on yourself. There are people out there that don't spend half of the time you do with their kids or dh's and they don't give it a thought, or care. :) I bet you're doing much better than you think you are... :)
yeah, what they all said!! LOL When I did work, I was grateful to be able to put them on the bus and be home when they got home. Unfortunately, with dh's business, sometimes they didn't much of me. They don't look worse for the wear either. The only difference now is that I have more time to procrastinate  BUT, I can be more vigilant about volunteering at their schools and keeping up with all their needs.
You are doing fine!

well, just stop it!

I think we are ALL doing great!! None of our kids are neglected and we love and cherish each and every one of ours and they know it. I'm sure all of our kids know they are loved and they know we'll be there whenever they need us.
The age old problem is - expectations. The expectations we put on ourselves and what we think others are putting on us as well. All we can do is the best we can and some days we do it better than others; hopefully we have MORE days of doing it better. :)
Hang in there Renee and I'm glad you started this thread because there are days I can't believe I'm this grown up, a parent, and RESPONSIBLE FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE! :nervous:

All that teen angst, peer pressures, etc. Yuck!

There are definitely some things I'd do differently, regarding my education... but I wouldn't want my life to be any different than it is now.
