office decor

ok, my new office is small but I do have two large latteral file cabinets behind my desk, the tops are pretty empty, also have a nice size desk. another lateral file cabinet on the wall with the door...that holds my printer and fax machine...so that is full...and two empty walls.....on wall is covered with a huge cork board....

I need ideas, for simple decor. I have my starbucks demitest cup with paperclips...and a XOXO beanie baby bear dd gave me....so its really plain still...

I was thinking mybe a small photo collage of the famiy....

I was thinking maybe some nice seenic photo's even it they are your own....cheap frames and your set.

what about those inspirational posters you see in alot of offices...think kmart has them.

I think plants would fill the spaces well. Real or fake if it's easier.

A mirror, maybe a nice silk floral/plant arrangement... photos's of the family/dog? Cute posters, candles? Can you even light candles in an office? If not... just for decoration. It's been years since I've had my own office... so don't know what else to suggest. Sounds like fun though...

First I would walk around and see how others have decorated their offices to get a feel for what is the norm/acceptable there.
I wouldn't get too cutesy cause I think that makes for an unprofessional representation of yourself. A couple of nice pics of your family in simple, tailored frames would be nice. Like Donna's idea of a lamp if you need one, don't think using for affectation is good.

I also think it depends on how public your office is. Is this somewhere that customers or supervisors will me coming a lot, or is intended as your own private space to get your work done?

The other offices are so different....one has a display of every pez container ever made....boss has lots of photos....some with lots of plants.

I found a cute collage frame for the family photos and two really nice framed prints.....simple...then I have plans for a easy care plant....probably won't get to decorating until next week though...thanks for all your input.
