Anyone belong to a Credit Union?

I have the opportunity to join the Co.'s credit union.

What are the benefits? just curious if its better than a regular banking institude.

We do, have for yrs. and yrs.
I'll have to ask dh for exact benfits to it, but I know free checking, no minimum balance requirements, uh... overdraft protection... just to name some off the top of my head. :)

We have always belonged to Credit Unions and not Banks. Not sure why. The credit unions usually are better about certain things and always have the kinds of accounts that suit our needs. We like them because we get accounts that do not require you to have a minimum balance, do not charge monthly fees and so on. Some credit unions charge those fees though. We just had to look around for the one that met our needs the best.
