Has this ever happened to you?

I joined weight watchers 5 weeks ago and I've lost 6½ lbs. I felt pretty good, not all that hungry, eating a well balanced diet or so I thought...

Last week I started getting horribly tired and dizzy. :crazyroll I started getting the shakes and I didn't even feel I could drive safely. I told this to a woman at the weight watchers meeting and she ask what kind of multi-vitamins I was taking and I said "what vitamins". So anyway... I've been taking vitamins for the past 4 days and I can drive now, but I'm still feeling real tired. I'm wondering if I've got a virus or If it could really be a vitamin deficiency. I'd go to my Dr but I find they are really useless when it comes to discussing these types of things.

Jeannie I meant to reply to you earlier but lost the post somehow??

I joined WW in January and lost 18lbs and got to my goal. I found it to be a great program. However, you have to make sure your diet is balanced and not just load up on carbs. Are you getting enough protein? Egg whites are great, 3 whites for 1 point! Also, are you drinking a lot of water? If the weather is warm and you are more active, you should increase your water intake.

Make sure you don't go too long without eating too, that will cause your blood sugar to drop and could cause dizziness and the shakes.

If it persists I would defenitely talk to the dr. A multi vitamin is a good start, and check your protein. Maybe you are lacking iron. Are you getting enough sleep? That can be a contributing factor too.

Good luck with your weight loss, how much are you looking to lose?

I thought I was doing pretty good. I was eating eggs and everything. I'm excercising more and giving myself more points. My friend is on WW and she started getting head aches but she was losing 5 lbs a week and it was obviously too much for her.

Are you getting enough points each day? You are supposed to aim for the middle of your range. How long have you been feeling this way? Is it only at certain times of the day? have you cut anything out completely that you used to have, like coffee or tea or soda, something that would;ve had caffeine in it?

5 lbs a week, wow that is a lot.

Thanks for checking up on me KathyT. Are you a lifer?

I havn't really cut anything out but I drink o lot of water and I don't over eat at night any more. Oh and less protein and a lot more vegis. I've been drinking one cup of coffee a day as usual.

My range is 20-25 and I've been staying around 23 or 24. The last few days I've been feeling better and able to go for long walks. I've been babying myself lately. (yesterday I did 28 points with 2 points for excercise but I'll try to keep it under 23 today.) I just seem to wear out as the day goes on. My Natropath friend says my body's probablly detoxing. (This is a lot like AA for me.)
