View Full Version : I am determined!
I will lose 20lbs by New Years! That gives me over 2 months and with approx. a 2lb. loss each week I should be able to do it. Right? :( :banghead:
Anyone want to join in this quest? Set a 2 mo goal for yourself? Pretty please, lol? Okay, no more begging. I just needed to tell someone to help me be accountable!

I'd love to join you, but I don't trust myself to really be of any help! "Diets" don't work for me because as soon as I start one I convince myself I am starving to death and I eat more than I had before the diet. Pathetic, I know. LOL The one thing that I did in the past for a jump start was the "Soup Diet" and one time I lasted the whole 7 days....but then I hit a buffet the day after I was done. See how I work? LOL
Good luck and do post your updates!!! You can do it!!! :yippee:

I'd love too but I think I'd fall off the wagon the first week. I don't eat alot....just the sweets and now the Lattes. Trying to cut that to once a week.
Ok I'll do it. How would it work?

I would, because I am trying to lose weight, but I've also started jogging, so I'm focusing on that goal right now. Normally I lose weight by counting calories. I've cut down on what I eat, but I'm not writing it down. I just think I would become too overwhelmed if I had both as hard core goals, even though I am really working on both.

I normally would, but...

That said, I did lose 2 pounds last month, but I wasn't trying to do that!
I need someone to help me be accountable exercise wise. I got on a great roll and the dogs were loving it too, but I got tired of messing with the dogs and I feel guilty if I do the treadmill and not take them..so I just quit! LOL
Dance!! I find myself doing spurts of exercise throughout the entire day. My favorite is the spastic dance to Love Shack (B52's)
Pam, the site I love best is the one Ann recommended. www.sparkpeople.com
It helps you keep track of EVERYTHING! I love going to the community boards and trolling through people's personal pages. Many of them keep track of their weight loss and it is a real moral booster for me.
Karla, believe me, I understand! I do the same thing, too. This time I'm throwing meal schedules out the window (except a breakfast of fruit). If hunger pangs make themselves heard, I'll eat. :D
Vea, I need to cut back on (or cut out altogether) sodas. That's one of my pitfalls.
Donna, you've got a great start! Exercising is no picnic and even if you don't lose an ouce (which you probably will, lol) it feels so much better to be toned up.
Mickey, in a little over 4 months you'll have us all beat! With ds 2 I didn't gain as much as w/my other pregnancies and was very suprised when I still lost the 30+lbs!
Ann, forget the dogs! I finally got to the point where I realized that if exercise isn't easy, I won't do it. Not easy as in a cakewalk, but easy to fit into my lifestyle and something enjoyable. Maybe you can do the treadmill when it fits in best for you and then take a walk with your dh after dinner or something (let him wrestle the dogs, lol)
Amy, I don't dance. :nervous:  Really though, I hear you. When I clean I try to speed clean and work up a sweat. I've been using fitday.com, but will check out sparkpeople again, too.
I exercised this morning! :yippee: It was only 1/2 hour of the hour long Walk Away the Pounds dvd, but it's a good start! My feet rebel if I try to go gung ho. So far I've had an apple and a ton of water. Hoping to hit 100oz of water each day. We're taking the kids out to dinner tonight so I'll at least bring half of it home in a doggie bag, even if it's not the healthiest choice. :)

don't starve yourself, cause
1. it's not good for your metabolsim
2. you will eventually stop starving yourself and gain weight
eat a little something every 3 hours. you really shouldn't ever be hungry if you are eating correctly.
if you aren't into breakfast (hell, I can't eat breakfast at 3:30 AM!!). have your apple, then after a little while have a bowl of cereal or a half of a sandwhich (it doesn't have to be breakfast food. or add a slice of lowfat cheese with your apple, maybe some yogurt (but watch the added sugars!), have lunch, then about 3 have another snack..fruit, veggies and ranch dip, almonds, then have dinner. you are great with drinking tons of water

I won't starve myself, but I don't want to eat until I'm hungry, either. It seems to snowball throughout the day... if I eat "normal" meals, 3xday it leads to mindless grazing. :( That's what I'm trying to stay away from. So far today all I've had was that apple and 1/2 sandwich. I'm trying to eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. It sounds so simple, but it's something that is a struggle for me.
