I'm open for any advice you all can possibly give. :) What's worked for you and what hasn't?

It's funny cause I don't do alot of dieting...but every once in a while I go on a health kick....so I eat more veggie wraps, salads and less pasta etc.

Basically When I watch my colesterol my calories drop to nothing.

Here's my tip..diets don't work! Exercising more than you eat and making mostly good food choices is the only way...bummer!

Logging in your calories and food intake is a real eye opener. A handful of chips (or insert your favorite munchie) DOES count!! :bawling: If you have a set amount of calories you are allowed, then you definitely don't want to waste them on 8 potato chips. LOL

That's so true! I guess what I was thinking with diet tips was ways to fool yourself into making the lifestyle changes, lol. Or making them less painfully.

Here are some things I'll be trying to do.

Breakfast of fruit to get metabolism going (I'm rarely hungry for breakfast)
100oz of water per day
only eat when hungry (major duh, lol)
only eat 1/2 of a normal portion
no eating after 6:00pm

Oh, there is one more thing. There's a feeling of satisfaction we get from eating fat called satiety. Our bodies are programmed for this, which is why it's so difficult to feel the same way after eating 100 calories of carrots vs 100 calories of dessert. So if you find yourself really struggling, choose a small portion of something that gives you that feeling of satisfaction to get you through.

my favorite tip is don't clean the plate.....LOL...eat slowly, enjoy the taste of the food.
I stay away from side orders, fries, chips, potato salads....
