View Full Version : Good Sunday morning..did you fall back???
I forgot and when the news gave the time, I was so confused!
church, working in our pumpkin patch from 11-2, then at 5 dd has 'reverse halloween' for youth group. they are going back downtown and giving out candy to the homeless, then back to the youth center for a party.
i have a stupid store meeting for the holiday rollout at 9:30 PM till 11:00PM!! and i so want to bale, but i won't cause i am responsible and i am in charge of the cheer party for the customers and need to tell the other partners what we are doing.
I changed our clocks. When we changed in the spring we changed time a week before you guys. This time it was the same day. strange. Got the computer room completely clean! :yippee: In fact almost the entire house is clean. I have to do the bathrooms, but I'm going to tackle them tomorrow. I work 1230-530 the entire week so I have time in the morning.
Ann- do you have to work in the morning after staying up so late for the meeting?

I changed the bedroom clocks because we had to get up this morning....and the radio reminded me last night. The rest of the house is still ahead.
Practice then, dbf mothers for a birthday luch for dbf and brother.

Not really, but I was up early because I need to go pick up ds from his friends. I'm sure I'll have to carve pumpkins today. Ds3 has another birthday party and ds2 has a new youth group meeting tonight, I think. The boys invited him, but the info I have says 1st and 3rd Sundays, so I need to call the parents. Also they were supposed to have a sand dodge ball tournament (which apparently is not socially unacceptable here) at 3, but I haven't heard if these guys have a team or not. Have a great day all!

OMG I thought I was loosing my mind....no we forgot all about the falling back..I woke up and thought it was 8:00...got up went to call my brother and the phone said 7:00...HUH?????
Thanks for reminding me its daylights savings time....
I'm up...lol...ds is on the computer...dd spent the night at a friends...dh is sleeping...We are planning on getting the pumkins today and carving them when we pick up dd....still need to get that child a halloween costume???
Beautiful outside....should a nice day...little laundry, light house pick up...major cleaning was done on Wed...so I am ahead of the game...
Have a great Sunday all.
I'm so glad we don't have to mess with changing our clocks, lol! Dh is driving dd1 and ds2 to church in the Mustang. Dd is beside herself, lol! I'm keeping ds2 home because of a green nose and dd2 is going later with my mom to give her a little more time to rest. She went camping with a friend Thurs and Fri and they hiked six miles yesterday! 8o She's a bit tired today.
I altered dd1's prom-type dress yesterday, so her halloween costume is done! :yippee: Ds2's is done, just need to gather things together. Dd2's is completely ready and I have a pretty good idea in my head what ds1 will need. :) Whew! I don't think I've ever been done with costumes before Halloween day.
Hoping to have some time today to whip the house into shape for the week. It's not too bad (knock-on-wood :banghead: ) so hopefully it won't take too long. I finished lesson plans for dd2 yesterday and dd1's are easy since she's doing the novel writing this month. She only has history and math for the month. :)
Ann, why the heck would they have a meeting so late??? What a pain!
Renee, we'll probably do pumpkins today, too. I just need to get pics first!!!
Jen, wanna come help me clean my house? ;)

One of today's topics on radio was about dodgeball and other playground games similar to it. Many schools in many states have begun banning these games. Recently a sports phsycologist (at a south east college - South Carolina maybe?) wrote an article in which he named his hall of shame of games. Included in the list was such games as Duck Duck Goose, Musical Chairs, Red Rover Come Over, Dodge Ball and others. He said these are cames that encourage children to pick on others, encourage bullies and teach aggression. He also said that these games separate those that are skilled from those that aren't and therefore create distinctions between the children instead of equality. His article brought up all of these other games and was the motivation behind the topic but only dodgeball was addressed on the radio show and how schools have already begun banning it.
Do you think dodgeball should be banned and why or why not?

We got up at our regular time this morning... meaning we forgot to change the clocks, so instead of 8:00 it was only 7:00. I called my mom, assuming she too hadn't changed her clocks yet... (and she didn't) so we sat and talked for about a half hour, then I took my shower. I went to get the paper and saw that I had been "BOO"d AGAIN. I was a little annoyed (I've already been Bood twice) until I realized it was from dd #3. LOL (she had all these little things from Country Inn and Suits in the bag) She also left me another pumpkin to carve... Oh joy, just what I want. :) LOL I got a big laugh out of it. She called later to see if I had gotten it. Then I called some friends to see what they were up to. They hadn't eaten breakfast yet, so we met them at McDonalds. Then dh/I went to Home Depot... didn't find the tarps we were looking for there, so went on to Menards and got some there. We didn't get home until after 1:00... actually, 12:00, when we decided we'd better change all the clocks so we'd quit gettiing confused as to what time it was. LOL We went out and covered all the lawn furniture with the tarps we bought. Then we got our bikes out and went for a nice long ride. Can you believe it's almost 60 degree's here?!?! :) We put the liners back in our jackets, wore our leather gloves... and actually stayed pretty warm. My hands were a little cold, but not bad at all. We really had a lot of fun. Dh's reading the paper... and I'm down here checking out the board. We'll probably go to Quizno's for a bite to eat and then back home for the evening. Looking forward to watcing Desperate Housewives... that show!!! It's suppose to be real good again tonight. :)
Hope you're all having a great day!!!

That's a stupid time of the night to have a meeting. Ugh... They're SOOOOO lucky you're such of a good employee!!!
This had to have been the longest day despite the fact that it WAS the longest day. LOL I feel like I have led three lives already. I prepared a craft project for ds's class Halloween party tomorrow, made homemade applesauce, 2 pumpkin pies and picked up the house (twice!). I know...I don't even know who I am anymore. :bawling: What happened to the girl who didn't cook or clean. Where did she go?? LMAo

It feels like midnight to us, too. We had dd at church from 8:30 - 2:00. Ugh.
She participated in both worship services and then we had a children's festival that the youth led. Add that to the time change and we feel like it should be midnight already.

OMG--domestic tendencies!!! You have to know that dreaming about ring-around-the-collar is in your not too distant future. We'll miss your wild independent self. LOL
