View Full Version : Thursday
I'm off work today and it's ds's 11th birthday! Yesterday worked called, said they were really slow and if I wanted to day off I could have it or I could go work at the other center (that had 11 people call in sick on Tuesday). So I thought I'd be nice and I volunteered to work at the other center 10-3 (the hours I was scheduled at my center). Turns out, they didn't need me, although I was there and worked. Those people have no clue about so many things. No wonder people are always quiting and calling in sick. (Ann, in answer to your question, I don't know if there was a bug going around or people just hate working there so much.) Never again will I volunteer to go. So this morning I took ds to get some shots before school and I was gone for about 2 1/2 hours. I called work when I got home to see if they needed me, hoping that they wouldn't so I could have the day off. She said they were fine and to enjoy my day off. :yippee: I have a lot of running around to do, so it will be nice to ba able to get it done all in one day. Dd and I got our flu shots this morning when ds got his shots. My arm is a little sore now. I didn't know that would happen from a flu shot.
Ann- I'm sorry to hear ds is going home bound again. How does he feel about it?
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you guys. This morning when I dropped the kids off at school we saw the mom of the little boy who's having the second b-day party of the year. She wanted almost 20 minutes for me parked by my car (she was leaving the school when we got there and parked by my car and waited). She wanted to know for sure if ds couldn't make it to the party. I told her he would not be there we had plans. So she wants to CHANGE the party date to a date ds can make it! I told you guys she's wacko! I told her NOT to do that, to go ahead with the party as planned. "No, your ds is her ds's BEST friend and we can't have a party w/o him." I told her we were busy until January. (Which is the truth) We'll see if she changes the date of the party or not. I DON'T want her to. She's an odd one I'm telling you. How do I attract these people? I know I'm a bit off at times (you have to be to work with kids for as many years as I have), but come on. I think I'm just too nice to people sometimes. She then informs me she wants to invited ds to your 5 yr old's bday party in January (she had an un b-day party this summer too) so her ds will not be bored!!!
Jen, you just have to ask her for me, why she is having two parties in a year! LOL It's nice to be wanted. ;) Happy Birthday to your ds.
He fought it, and doesn't want to be out all year, but he is also not doing any of the work he has at home either.
work for me, then dd has theater this afternoon. she hasn't been in several weeks because of her other show. i know the director is ticked too.

Well, we have freezing rain here, and most of us are staying home! Neither of the school districts are closed, so ds2 is going to school (he rides the bus that stops about 100 feet from our house), but ds1 is staying home. I'd have to drive on a major highway to take him, and I'm not doing that. I'm also going to call the clinic and have them cancel my case load. Dh was told yesterday to work from home.
So, guess I'll finish my Christmas cards.
I finished hemming ds1's pants! :yippee:  One hated, dreaded job down, about forty million to go, lol. Still have a couple of pair of dd2's pants to mend and hopefully that'll be done for a while. Basic cleaning today before care group kids come, plus grocery shopping.
I've got to figure out how to give ds2 a bath and wash his hair without getting his cut wet. May have to enlist dd1's help with that one! He's got preschool today and needs a bath! The schoolroom is finished except for cleaning, so that's a major load off my mind, too. :) Now if I could just complete some more Christmas projects and get my room cleaned up we'd be good to go.
Jen, happy bday to your ds!
Donna, yikes about the ice! Enjoy your day off.

Jen, happy birthday to your ds!
Donna, I heard that some areas for freezing rain were pretty bad. We are supposed to get some tomorrow but not like it is in southern Ont or Montreal. I'm hoping we don't get the snow the west did. Still need to get snow pants for the older boys for skiing and I think the oldest needs boots. Guess that's my plan this weekend.
No big plans today. I haven't had time to decorate at all for Christmas. Was thinking about getting dh to take out the tree for me but his sister is coming to visit with her 3 yr old twins on Sat. and I really don't know how good they are with that so some stuff will wait until they are gone. I have been doing a minimum of decorating for the last few years and this year I have things I want out, like my village and really don't need them knocked over.
Hope you all have a good day :)
Morning all...been feeling alittle sluggish the past few days, dh said he feels the same way.....I think we are both fighting something off...Also we are having terrible winds here...its scary actually....Work, home for dinner with the family, and SURVIVOR! :yippee:
Jen 1-Happy Birthday to your ds....
Donna-enjoy your day at home...
Pam-I have mending to do too...can you come over ;)
Mel-Enjoy decorating....

It's only 9 degrees outside. Burrr... :nervous: :nervous:
Same ol for Thursday. :) Up early... not much planned for my day. As far as I know so far I've got it all to myself. I've got some laundry, some vacuuming and dusting to do. I'd like to start my Christmas cards... plus I've still got to find/decide what I'm going to make for my ornament exchange. LOL Dd #2's coming over tonight for dinner. She wants us to take her to Home Depot to help her pick out some tile for their bathroom, then wants her dad to put it in, which I know he's not thrilled about because he's working on our bathroom and wants to get going on that. Oh well.... kids!
Jen... HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your ds. I can't BELIEVE just how persistent this lady seems to be... 8o She needs to give it up. :)
Mel... Enjoy decorating :)
Donna... Don't go anywhere unless you have to. :(
PamE... How's your ds's head looking/feeling today? Poor kid... :(
Hope you all have a great day!

Nothing exciting here...I have an appointment, work then childcare for parent info night.
Slept so hard that I never even heard dbf get up and leave today. I think I heard the shower but that's it. Weird!
Looks dreary again outside....don't know what the weather holds!
Have a good day!

Ds just asked me if he could have a friend come over today  . Son, I've kept you home from school today because it's too bad out to drive. We're not going the exact same route I would have had to take to get you to school to go pick up a friend  .
Renee, :nervous: :tounge:  Not gonna happen, lol!
Diane, ds's head looks pretty good! It's a lot better with the surgical glue than it was with stitches last time. It's sore to him if he brushes it up against something, but I've only heard two "ouch"es from him. :) He was his usual frisky self this morning. He had fun showing it off at preschool, lol.
Donna, ROFL!!! Funny why they can't see the logic until you spell it out for them!

Happy birthday to your ds, Jen!
Ann, I'm sorry your ds is having such a hard time.
Not much here. Thinking about working on the outdoor lights--I had half of them up and then a fuse in the line went, so only two strands are still lit. But it's SO cold...I want to stay right here under my fleece throw!
went to work at 4:45 am and it was 73 degrees. left work at 9:00 and it was 43!!! you could visibly see the front come in, it was freaky! the temperature drop 30 degrees in 15 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's snowing here!
It's snowing here!
I heard that. It was fun, customers kept coming in with weather reports today. 'it's snowing in Wichita Falls, now it's hit Dallas, front's reached Brenham...'
we will probably only have ice if we have that, but it is supposed to freeze.

You and Donna sound like that town from "Year without a Santa Claus". LOL Wasn't it called SouthTowne where it never snowed?
There is so much going in everyone's lives that I feel bad about not taking the time to comment on each of your lives. :( Hope everything goes well for everyone.
Dd is home sick today, so we made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and went out to eat at my old restaurant that just re-opened. I hated it. Most of the girls and cookstaff went back to work there, but the guy gutted all the booths and made it open with table and chairs. He also put plasma tvs in the eating area. yuck. So you are supposed to buy $23 dollar prime rib at what now looks like a neighborhood hangout? The girls who visited me at my table agreed with me that it was a bad move. Glad I didn't choose to re-apply there. I just wasn't feeling it.

Whoa, she stays home sick and gets to go out to eat? I wanna be your kid!
Sorry the restaurant stunk; glad you listened to your gut about not going back to work there.

Aren't I the worse? LOL I thought a good broth soup would do her good. She didn't eat a whole lot, but felt a tad better afterwards. She gets a cold that drips down her throat and causes stomach pains.

It has been raining non-stop since 7pm last evening.... about ready to call in Noah. It suppose to change to snow late tomorrow.. we'll see when tomorrow comes.
dd#4 gave me the shock of my life this morning.... she was still sleeping, so I went downstairs, was looking over some paper work from the school at the table when I heard this little thump, thump, thump coming down the stair. I figured it was dn. He often wanders out to greet me when he wakes up. Suddenly dd came "WALKING" into the kitchen, looked at me and said "hungry". I guess I didn't respond right away... too busy looking at her in disbelief so she yelled " I said I hungry!!!!". I quickly gave her a hug and got her her breakfast. I didn't want to call attention to the walking incase it would make it stop again. She started crawling after that, but it's a start anyway!!! :yippee:

I'd ask the PT what to do, but I'm thinking I'd call attention to it. Great news, though!
