Our preschool and a few school age kids helped raise money and we are in the process of getting things with the money. A big part is going towards John Deere, International and Tonka toys. Also some baby doll and Barbie things.

The school age girls though are really into their music. We've been contemplating a Karoke machine. Any suggestions on a durable kind. Also are their any other kind of fun music things these girls might enjoy?

A few of the kids like board games. What are some popular ones? We have Guess Who, Checkers, Cards, Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, and others like that. Any new fun ones your kids love? We played a new game at Christmas called Apples to Apples that, if I can find the children's version, it would be a hoot.

So what do your 7-10 yr. old girls love to do with their friends? Craft kits suggestions are welcome too. :)
TIA!!

The kids at the school age program I have been working at LOVE Karoke. The center actually has a machine. Do you have a DVD player? The kids also LOVE Scene It games. They have Scene It Jr. My kids got the Harry Potter version and the Disney Version for Christmas and love them. Sometime kids at the center bring in theirs and I know I have seen both Disney and Harry Potter floating around from day to day. They also like the Disney Trivial Pursuit. They play card games with regular decks of cards. Uno is a big hit especially when you get the versions that have different characters. I think we had Sponge Bob at one time, the center has a Spiderman one. Uno makes other card games as well and most kids like those ones as well. Do you have the kid versions for Clue and Monopoly? Monopoly has a bunch of fun versions that kids like as well. The problem with games is they are very expensive (most of them anyway).

The girls love fuse beads and scrapbooking types of activities. One teacher has started teaching the boys and girls how to knit and they love that.

Good Luck!

Ds1 got Apples to Apples JR for Christmas and loves it! They also have 2 card cames that they really like - Blink ($5 at Target) and Set (think that one had to be bought online though or in a mall kiosk). SkipBo is another fav.

Ditto what Jen said about the Scene It games. And, Monoply Jr and Uno. My nieces are also way into any beading type activities.

Thanks for the ideas. We have already been doing a bunch of fusible beads. We have tons of pegboards. They also like stringing the beads into the animal key chains.

Yes we have a dvd player so I may look into the scene it games.

Thanks again!
