Does anyone else's husband have the date of your marriage engraved inside his wedding ring? I'm updating the calendar on my computer, and it just occured to me that dh asked me to have the date engraved in his so he wouldn't ever have to ask me when our anniversary is!!

It's engraved in both of our rings. It's too damn small for either of our old eyes to read now, but hopefully after almost 23 years he remembers! I, on the other hand, tend to confused dd's birthday (March 12) with our anniversary (March 10)...in fact just did it while typing this! LOL

The date and our initials are engraved on both rings. I can't imagine my dh having to look at his ring to remember our anniversary.

My dh is TERRIBLE at dates. I don't even think he remembers his own birthday!

No dates in ours, I never even thought about it. Great idea!

No date in mine - not sure about dh's, but don't think so.

Now, I am curious. My parents had the date in theirs and so did both sets of my grandparents. I thought it was custom. Did any of your parents have it in theirs?

No dates (or any other engraving actually) on ours. My father didn't have a wedding ring, and my mom didn't have anything engraved on hers.

Just curious if that bothers you.

My dh only takes his off
1. when he runs
2. when he plays golf
3. when he swims in the ocean
4. when he's in certain parts of the plant where any metal/jewelry is not allowed

None of that bothers me, but I give him a hard time that it's been off more than it's been on. Heehee.

Nope... no dates on anyone's. My band is way too narrow to fit anything like that.

Interesting.
Diane, my band and my mother's are both super thin. Engravers can make them any really small. Her's is platinum and I used to tease her that daddy gave her a flip top for a wedding ring! And then I end the same version in yellow gold! LOL

Nope not at all. He would never wear it at work anyway (factory labourer) and it just became habit not to put it on when he wasn't at work. Now it looks funny (foreign) on the (very) rare occasion he does wear it.

No engraving on mine, and none on any parents that I know of. I'd have to ask Dh about his parents.
