View Full Version : What's for dinner? 1-5-07
We're going out tonight, but I'm thinking about chicken stir-fry for tomorrow night.
I think we are doing a cookout with our dinner group. I am going to make a baked potato casserole and a salad.
Tomorrow, I am thinking of making hobo casserole...baked beans and ground beef. i never cook like this but all the sudden this week, i have been craving casseroles! LOL not even sure my family will eat it, they aren't used to casseroles either.

I went to a favorite restaurant in my hometown for lunch today and had a gyro and pita bread with hummus. I ordered another one to go for brichard's dinner and put a lasagna in the oven for the kids.
What else goes in the hobo casserole Ann? The stir fry sounds good too.

it's just ground beef, baked beans, a little onion, extra barbecue sauce, some worchestershire sauce.

I have no Ideas...we usually go out but I have no desire to eat at the place we hang out. No desire for anything specific.

Don't know why, but it kills me when you talk about cooking out when we are buried in snow - almost like I forget cooking out this time of yr isn't out as an option for everyone. LOL

Picked up Taco Bell for dks and I - haven't had that FOREVER!! Dh is scouting - guessing he'll eat on the road.
I made a beef stew in the crockpot this a.m.
Karla...it's almost foreign to me, who lives in winter country, to hear you are snowed in. We haven't had any snow yet this winter and as much as I'm loving it...it's sad too, really.

Isn't this weather the strangest thing...supposed to be 65 degrees tomorrow.

I was ready for the snow to hit us and cover the ugly grass. LOL The news said we got 10 inches, dh thinks we got 6-8 out here. A lot has melted and the roads haven't been too bad, so I don't mind it. Dks were bummed it came during break and they didn't get a snow day. LOL

Dh and I were suppose to go out with some friends for dinner but they ended up having to cancel, so we went out to Red Lobster instead.

Last night was supposed to be chicken lasagna but I forgot I had to have ds3 at the doc for 7 pm (at the clinic). So, dh threw a frozen pizza in for the kids, ds3 had pasta and dh and I had left over pasta that was in the fridge from the night before. So, tonight I am making chicken lasagna. I hope I have some broccoli because I really want some and could throw that in. It not I have the broccoli cream soup instead of celery soup I could use but it won't be the same as nice little chunks of broccoli. LOL Cravings are out of wack this week and very strong. Making brisket in the crock pot tomorrow.
Okay, we're doing chicken wraps tonight instead of chicken stir-fry. That'll probably wait till Wednesday or so.

We cooked out in the snow in Alaska all the time. It just takes longer to cook!

you can't go outside when it's cold Karla? granted a driving snow storm wouldn't be fun, but dh has put on a coat many a time to cook in 20 degree weather!
why would it take longer, Jen?
why would it take longer, Jen?
I have no idea. Maybe just because the temps were below zero.

I don't know why but we never cook out in the winter either... even though I know we could. LOL One of my best friends and her dh grill outside more than they cook inside... :)
