We had a terrific rainstorm in the middle of the night last night but it's bright and sunny out now; supposed to be near 75 today.

Dd gets picked up from her scout overnighter at 11:30, then has golf 1-2 then will hang out at the course with friends til probably about 4. :yippee:

I have to get control of this house. I feel awful with this cold but this mess makes me uncomfortable.

I'm off to lay on the couch.

Up early to take ds to work at the university (checking students back into residence). He's only scheduled to work until 1:00. I'm thinking he will be very bored...the students will wait until tomorrow to come back so they can have one last "party" at home with their friends.

Dh has a double-header at darts this afternoon. I'm not sure how I'll spend the day.

had fun last night and didn't get home till 11:30. notice ds' door open and he's not there. (he was asleep when we left). call his cell phone 'where are you??' he asks where are you??? we had forgotten to take our cellphones! LOL he asked if he could spend the night at his friend's. yes. wake up this am to hear someone coughing that sounds just like ds. ???? go into his room and there he is. 'uh..what time did you come home?' he said he left because he started to feel sick..:(
and yesterday called TCH to ask some questions about his appointment and they said 'oh, your appointment as been cancelled'. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, the doctor must be out that day. WHAT?????????????????? grrrr now have appointment on 2-14. if i can get in with someone else sooner, they are going to call. grrrrrrr i am sure that what happened was the day was blocked off and the idiot who took the appointment didn't realize and that's how i got that appointment so quickly. grrrrr

dd has a rehearsal today 3-6. not really sure what i am going to do.

It looks like it's going to be another nice day. Our snow is just about all gone. I'm sure there will be more to come soon to take it's place. :) Dh and I are going to Menard's to get our new sink and toilet... they're on sale and seeing the sale ends today, thought we'd better get down there right away. Meeting dd and her fiancee at 3:00 and then going out to eat somewhere. Not much else on the agenda. Hope you all have a great day!

That's aggravating! hope there's a cancellation and you can get in sooner.

We found out that PetSmart doesn't sell pets, only supplies, because they are heavily into pet adoptions, so we're going to go by and see if they have any dogs today.

Need to go to the teacher store and make some signs for ds's 18th birthday on Wednesday, and I know there's a laundry mat near there with big washers and dryers, so I might takes ds's comforter with me and wash it while I make signs. He threw it in with the dirty clothes when i asked him to take his sheets off the bed, so now it has to be washed.

Ds2 has been taking bass lessons for a while, and they started a new program at the school where they put a band of students together and have them perform live. Ds has band practice today for the first time! I hope this turns into something fun for him - he really needs more to do.

Ds3 has a wrestling tournament today, but he said it wouldn't be a very good one to come watch since its just duals, and he's not even sure he'll get to wrestle. We might stop by anyway.

Have a great day all!

Today is a lazy Saturday for me. I am helping my mother with a program for her sorority and then I have to really start packing up my stuff to go back to school. For some reason, yesterday I didn't really get that far in my packing. I feel kind of sad to go back to school, even though it's only been a month. I've had a good time spending time with my mother and stepdad, this was the most relaxation vacation for me. Completely stress free with no worries of the school newspaper (i'm editor in chief) or worries about my classes. It was just great! Now it's time to become a bookworm again. :read:

I just keep saying to myself one more year to go and then I'll be done. I just want it to be all over and no more having to deal with 18 year olds. I miss the kids at the daycare center though and keeping that in mind makes me excited to go back.

I hope everyone here enjoys there day golfing, enjoying the kids, washing clothes or playing in the snow...hehe. I live in the mountains, but we don't get snow it just gets really really cold. I miss living in Nebraska just for the simple fact that they actually get a winter with snow, I miss being able to play in it...hehe, i'm such a big kid.

Dh started to take everything off the tree today. YIkes! lol I'm somewhat picky about how it all gets packed so I had to jump up and pack the ornaments before he decided to do it. So, Christmas is over once again. The living room looks so bare, I miss the tree. And ds's train table doesn't look the same without my little village on it either. lol I got a bunch of laundry put away. Still have more to go and a ton to wash since I barely did laundry at all this past week but at least the stuff in the baskets are all put away. Dh went to work in the house today, he got so much done including taking out the old tv I had mounted under a kitchen cabinet. It hasn't worked in ages and I don't miss it so it's gone and the space looks bigger. I'm so happy he got so much done. :) I'm thinking about a nap before making dinner (making Amy's chicken lasagna). Craving broccoli. :biglaugh: Last night it was a banana split and I would have drove to Dairy Queen if it wasn't for being already sick and tired of driving. Took ds to the doc last night to get his finger checked. Wasn't sure what it was, a sliver, wart or something else and didn't want to poke at it or apply the wrong type of cream. She didn't know, said it looked more like an injury of some sort and to use polysporin and a bandaid to keep it clean. okay, good to know. lol
Maybe a movie later, wouldn't mind seeing the Miami Vice that came out. I did watch You, Me and Dupree last night. I thought it was funny, it got some bad reviews from whoever does those but I had a few good laughs.
Hope you all have a good night :)

I just finished three weeks of lesson plans for the girls! :yippee: Now if we can just stick to those plans, we'll be doing good. :) Now I just need to write out my to do list for next week, sweep and mop the kitchen floor, vacuum, clean the bathrooms and finish the laundry and it'll be good!  Mom and her dh want to get together for games again tonight so that should be fun.

Yesterday was dd1's last day of watching the little boy she's babysat 2x week for the past year. She was bumming until the parents called her last night to see if she could babysit tonight! He's such a sweet little guy.

Nothing much else happening here.

Uneventful day here. Ds1 had practive this morning. Dh is at an away game tonight, so it's just me and the kids again. I am trying to convince them that popcorn made on the stove and malts sound good for supper....you'd think they'd jump on the idea, but they are looking at me like I am crazy. :crazyroll

We just got back to town after a party in my hometown. My younger brother watched our kids at my mom's while we went. I'm beat!! It was a great party though. We got to see some kids we used to babysit, one of whom is now 6'4 and 200 pounds and a freshman on the dean's list at an elite college. Wow, there goes that time a flyin by... lol

Well you can have all the snow and ice you want. We had a major ice storm last weekend. Some whole towns lost power. Some people have been without power for over a week and it could be 2-6 weeks before some people get power back. In Greeley county there was a large stretch of line where every power pole was snapped off. We've had our winter. Bring on the spring weather. :)

I guess it's actually Sunday already. Half the weekend's over already! :(

Slept in this morning till 9 (only because that's when the alarm went off). Went to Grand Island so the kids could redeem their Christmas gift cards. We wanted to go to Kearney but they had so much damage with the ice storm (power outages) I didn't know what I'd find. BIL said Walmart's shelves were pretty empty earlier in the week because trucks couldn't get in.

I also was looking for stuff for the preschool with the fundraiser money. I found the jr. version of Apples to Apples, Horse opoly, Don't break the ice, and Uno. I also found some tractors. There's still more to buy but I felt like I'd spent so much. I just wanted to go home.

I have a lot of end of the year stuff to do for taxes. YUCK!! I have stuff to get done for preschool this week too. I SO wish I could have a do-nothing weekend. They go waayy too fast when I'm just as busy as I am when I'm at work!

Hope you all had a good nite and a good tomorrow!!
