View Full Version : Do you all make your beds every morning?

To be quite honest, ours are only made if the cleaning people have been here (and I just fired Molly Maids, so that won't be happening again in the near future) or if someone is coming over that might possibly go upstairs. Are we just total slobs? (Oh and by the way, as I type this I'm craving tortellini - thanks Ann).
My bed is made about 50% of the time. The girls rarely make their beds 'cause they're loft beds and no one sees them. :D Ds1 lays on top of his covers most of the time, so it's not an issue and ds2's toddler bed is only made when ds1 gets an itch to do it, or I change the sheets.

If were not in it... it's made. I can't stand an unmade bed, and I just know that the one time I wouldn't make it... someone would probably come over and see it. I have a quilt I take off and fold up eacy/every night and put back on each/every morning. I just can't crawl into a bed that has not been made. LOL
I just can't crawl into a bed that has not been made. LOL
Dh kinda feels the same way so oftentimes, if I didn't make the bed in the morning, I'll make it right before we crawl into it!

I usually straighten it before we go to bed...unless I'm motiveated in a.m.
Always! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_13_7.gif I make the bed as soon as I crawl out of it on weekdays. Dh makes it on weekends, so if I'm up after him, which I usually am, I'll either leave it for him to make at some point during the morning, or I'll make my half and leave his, lol. I'm like Diane and can't stand getting into a bed that's unmade. I don't make ds's anymore, but most days he at least pulls his comforter up.
most times not. therre is no reason for anyone but dh and me to go into our bedroom.
now the front of the house and bathrooms is always guest ready.
99% of the time it's made and the last one out makes it. It's not too tough though. It's just throwing the sheet and quilt up over the pillows. LOL My dks both make their beds as well.

Make it? Gee, most days lately it's a chore just to get out of it! LOL Most times, it's not made to be honest. The kids don't make theirs much either, ds3 has a car bed and I find his impossible to get at to change so I have to have dh make his bed. All the kids beds are against the wall, would be easier if they weren't but we need the space so...no. lol

Mine's almost always made. It's not that tough--I have a fitted sheet and a down comforter with a cotton duvet cover on it and that's it. You just have to pull the comforter up to your pillow when you get out--I do my side and dh does his when he gets up (usually).
Ds has the same kind of bedding, but he's more sporadic about making it look neat.

Don't care what it looks like, but I've got to sleep in a 'made' bed. So I make it every day. Dh's idea of making it is to pull up the comforter, and he gets mad when I re-make it. Yuk, I hate the tangled sheets and wrinkles. I was never picky when I was a kid, but my mother insisted that we make our beds every day. Dds don't bother.....

Dd makes her everyday. Ours gets made about 90% of the time.
I'm with you Cathy; if dh makes the bed it's just not "right" and I have to re-do it. He doesn't say anything but probably figures "why didn't you just do it yourself in the first place". LOL
Can't honestly say that we do.

Our boys make their beds each morning...before they come downstairs. Now, mind you, this is not a bed made to "military" or even "mom" standards...but the sheets are somewhat straightened..and the comforters thrown on top. I'll take that. I NEVER have to remind them...they've done this for as long as I can remember.
I get up first, and I leave the house first...so dh usually makes our bed. Unless he's in a huge hurry...the bed always gets made.

Ours has to be straightened before we go to bed, but dh cares more about that than me, so he's usually the one who does it. I absolutely LOVE the way a freshly made bed feels, but I can't tell you why that doesn't motivate me more to make ours. Since ours is rarely made I don't ask the boys to make theirs very often, unless it's just chaos in there.

Yes, I do actually make my bed. It's just something my mother instilled in me, I guess. I can not stand the sight of an untidy bed, it just makes the whole room look messy to me.

Not usually since none are on the main level.

I usually don't but I would like to start instilling that into my children. I guess I need to be an example before I can expect them to do it.
