Up early, gotta give mom a wake up call then pick her up and get to the hospital. Imagine I'll be there the better part of the day.

Dd has dance tonight.

dd and i got up and walked from 5:30-6. the dogs were thrilled and somewhat stunned! LOL we are going to try to make this a habit.

Hope things go well too Jen.
Great habit to start Ann! Dd would be thrilled if we did that-except for the fact it is pitch black here until 7:30am and it is freezing out here. LOL

I am at that stage in my cycle (it is always a potpurri of symptoms any given month) that I feel totally drained. It is hard to wake up, hard to stay awake and most definitely unmotivated to do much. Somehow I need to get the house dusted and the bathrooms cleaned and mopped. If I put on my MP3 player, it will at least get me a little pumped. LOL

Sun's not up here either, but we have street lights and warm coats! LOL
I have always preferred to exercise first thing in the am. If I get dressed, just never will do it. That was the hard thing about working at the crack of dawn, I just couldn't find my exercise rythmn. DD and I have been trying to do it in the afternoons, but that wasn't working. I had started back running in the am after she left and just asked her if she wanted to run with me in the am. She said yes. It will be interesting to see how excited she is in the am! LOL

Tomorrow is gonna be a very long day.

Why?

Dh has gone to take ds to school. I need to leave here by 9 for work. Nine therapy sessions and an eval today if no one cancels, but someone always does. Dh lost his job yesterday and found out his Dad's cancer is back. He's having a pretty tough time. If ya'll could pray for us I'd appreciate it.

Have a great day!

Sorry lost my train of thought....I have an appointment in a.m. then work. Then we have parent info night from 6:30- 8:00. And afgter care staff always runs childcare for these....and alot of the children are ones who aren't normally in our room so they trash it.....LOL.

I'm tired! :bawling: Ever have those times where it almost hurts to be awake? Schoolwork today, housework (how the heck did my house get to be such a pit???), preschool for ds2. At some point in time we need to get mil and fil's house picked up and vacuumed. They come home on Thursday and since the kids have been sleeping over there occasionally, the house is definitely not in as good a shape as they left it!

Jenn, is your sd's surgery today? I know you said when, but I can't remember. I hope all goes well.

Donna (((Hugs))) to you and your dh. :(

Up early to take ds to swim practice...glad it's moved back to our side of town, for a while I was bringing him up to the university then turning around and going back home until it was time to go to work...I wasn't sitting here for an hour and a half until then, lol. He was then getting a ride back to school from another team mate's parent(s).

Visiting Dad was fun last night. My one sister and her dh were there also. Dad was in a great mood and we had lots of laughs.

Have a dr. appt. this a.m. Since before Christmas my right ear has been getting plugged, then unplugged depending on if I swallowed or sniffed, lol. No pain so don't think it's an infection, but thought I'd better get it checked out now, since I'm going away in 10 days and if I need antibiotics I want them finished before I go.

Ann, good luck with your routine...hope ya'll can keep it up. I haven't found my exercise rythmn since November and I need motivation myself.
Jen, continued good thoughts and well wishes.
Donna, how sad. Good luck/health to your dh and fil.

(((donna)))) is his field a pretty employable one?

(((donna)))) is his field a pretty employable one?

Yes. He turns down jobs daily, but a man's self esteem is so tied to his job that he's having a difficult time dealing with being let go, and the way it was handled. He's also got a lot of people that depend on him financially, so he's worried about that, even though he really shouldn't. He may have to travel again, but he's got lots of options.

His Dad's cancer is very treatable, but he's got other health issues, and his frame of mind isn't very good right now.

Nothing too exciting, work for me

DH has taken the day off, he went to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with a prostate infection, poor man, he went to the doctor twice before hit finally got to the urologist and was told what he had...Kaiser....it has its moments...LOL....he is on Cipro for two weeks.
He is taking ds back to the Ortho for his finger check up at 11:45 am...so that will be good. I think he just needs a day off. I am envious :)

Donna, prayers for your fil. Good luck to your dh finding a new job.
Jen, hoping that everything goes well today.

I feel tired and unmotivated today but once I get going I'll be okay. lol I have been very slow on the laundry but will do one basket at a time. Have dinner in the crock pot, ds1 is going to be so happy. He loves brisket. :) Everyone here does but he practically drools walking in the door when it's on! lol
Hope you all have a good day :)

Good for you two for walking, Ann!
((((Donna)))) Hope your dh finds something soon and your fil does well with treatment.

Going to the local newsroom to see our local weatherman talk about meteorology and then we'll watch him do the noon weather in the studio. Then drumming this afternoon.

I need to do laundry, too, Mel! I sometimes think I'll just throw all the clothes away and start over! ;)

A quiet day around here today. I have a new rental car... it's a blast to drive, so I took it out for a bit this morning to do some shopping. As much as I like it though... I'm missing my car. LOL Can't wait to get it back... and hopefully fixed. :)

Catching up on my house work and laundry... amazing how behind one can get when they don't keep up on it each/every day. I've got to get in my drawers and start getting rid of some of the clothes I no longer want/wear and make room for my new stuff. I've also gotta get at the wood floors and get those polished. I want to strip the wallpaper off from our office walls and paint, but it's going to take a lot of work moving the desk and everything on it. The wallpaper is old and outdated... downright UGLY!!! It would look SO much better if we could get that done. LOL

Anyway, I hope you all have a great day today.

Jen... Prayers being said. (((HUGS)))
Donna... I'm so sorry to hear about your dh's dad and about him loosing his job. Prayer's being said. (((HUGS))) I hope he finds something real soon.
Ann... Good for you getting up early and walking.
Renee... I hope your dh feels better real soon.

Oh Donna!! What awful news and two blows at once.
I'm glad to read your dh has lots of opportunities out there - what does he do?
Also glad that your fil's cancer is treatable - I hope his mindset straightens itself out soon... that's a large part of overcoming it.

Surgery went well today. :)
From the time he left the room to the time he got back up, it was an hour. So, that means it was laprascopic which means a lot easier recovery for him.

He's still in med/surgical ICU and will be until he can come off the respirator then he'll be moved to a room upstairs. :)

He's still so pitiful to look at - tube and wires everywhere and they'd taped his eyes closed and given him meds to paralyze him during the operation.

I went in with our minister to see him beforehand and found my mom, in her scrubs, asleep on the handrail of his bed and they were holding hands. :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:
It was the saddest, sweetest thing I'd ever seen.
The minister looked back at me as if he thought the same thing. :tinysmile

Thank you all loads and loads for being my friend, listening to me vent, work though this and pray for my family. I love you and never in a million years thought I'd have "imaginary" friends who meant so much. :tinysmile

I did hear them say they found some infection. I'm assuming that's the source of infection that spread all over his body.

Jen- Glad things went well.
Donna- Hope your dh finds a great position quickly, and that his dad recovers. Mindset is so important.....
AnnW- I used to get up to go to 6:25 Mass with my mom every morning. It was a great bonding thing. I treasure the memories, and I never resented getting up early. It was really my choice.
Amy- Perk up!!!
vea- Sounds like a long one.
Bev- What events does ds do?
Diane- New wheels!! Cool...even if it's a temporary thing.
Mickey- The weather up here is interesting--maybe you should take a field trip! LOL
Pam- Good luck cleaning TWO houses. I'm stumped with just one.
Mel- What time is dinner??

I know...I came home today and he had cleaned the house - saying he needed to have something he felt productive about.......it's been ONE DAY!

what does he do?

No one really knows LOL. Does anything pertaining to supply chain management, SAP software, project management mean anything?

Also glad that your fil's cancer is treatable - I hope his mindset straightens itself out soon... that's a large part of overcoming it.

Thanks - he was really worried at Christmas even before we knew if it was cancer or not. He's had this type before and just isn't up for how sick the chemo makes him.

His favourite/best is the breast stroke (whip kick) but he's competed in free-style as well. It's his first year competing so he's behind the others but he likes it and that's all that matters.

that's not that uncommon when you are being intubated. i have had it done when i was under anesthesia..didn't know it, just was told! LOL

Actually, it's so his eyes wouldn't dry out. :tinysmile
As he regains consiousness, they'll take the tape off. He's been intubated since Saturday night without his eyes being taped.

This is something I didn't know they did: they gave him meds to paralyze him during the surgery (from the neck down). That's kinda scary.
I hope everything wakes back up and works the same (heck, or better!).
