I absolutely HATE Rod Steward singing the OLDIES, it makes my skin crawl, not sure if its because it makes me feel old or if it just creeps my out....

I can't stand all the AS* remarks in the RAP music, Smack that, Shake that (*& etc....its like HELLO...Degrading to women...YAH

I have been listening to CD's in the car lately, but I wondered how everyone else is dealing with the "MUSIC of our times"

Ds listens to older rock music that is all okayed by brichard first. I don't listen to the radio in the car unless it is radio disney. When we travel brichard hooks up his ipod and we listen to playlists that are "clean."

Oh... I absolutely  Rod Stewart... and will listen to him any time I can. (I own all of his cd's) LOL As far as the other stuff... I don't like or approve of the language they use (using the F word), their talk of sex or parts of the anatomy. You really have to watch what you're listening to now aday's, especially when you're kids around. I just usually turn the dial and listen to something else.

I listen to light rock or country myself but prefer light rock over anything else.

LOL Renee! I think it's funny how the rock 'n roll singers from the 70's are going back to the standards and the rap singers are doing remakes of songs from the 70's! I like some of his versions of the standards better than other.
DS listens to alot of rap, but usually the cleaned up version.

I would listen to Rod Stewart singing the phone book! lol I like the older stuff by him but I listen to Frank Sanatra and Perry Como so hey! LOL I listen to all kinds and am always interested in hearing another version by an artist I like, sometimes I like it, sometimes not. Dh got me anohter Cyndi Lauper album the other day and I love listening to her. If you have 3 or 4 of the same songs of different albums, you never know how she will sing it. I have fun with just her changing one song. lol I love that she has fun with whatever songs she has and isn't afraid to go out of the norm of what others might expect just because it was popular one way. :)

I've always like Rod Stewart too. My older boys listen to a lot of rap type or heavy metal music. I don't care for a lot of it. I like the adult comtemporary--80's rock mostly. The ice storm took out some transmitters for a lot of our radio stations outside of our local one. The only rock station I can get to come in plays a lot of rap and heavy metal type that gets really old after a while. Other than that I have to listen to country. Some of the newer stuff is okay, but I just can't handle the Dwight Yokum twangy stuff. Man, some of that stuff is so depressing! I can't wait for my 80's station to be back up and running. (I only have a broken cassette player in the suburban so I can't listen to anything other than the radio.)
