Me too! What's up with that? I took allergy medication, but still shouldn't have slept that long!
Have dh's kids here this weekend. Need to check and see if I can find the info on ds's wrestling. I thought it was on the school website, but its not, so I'm going to check the other school's site.
Dh and I have our date night tonight. Massages and a stop at the wine bar! He's been under so much stress lately that his neck is killing him, so he came up with the massage idea. Hopefully my sinuses won't cause a problem.

Another cold day. It was 6 when I woke up this morning. Burrrr... :nervous:
Not much on the agenda today. Dh will probably be working on the bathroom most of the day today, me helping. I'm not much good when it comes to things like that, but at least I try to make myself available to help when needed. LOL
Were going out with two other couples to eat tonight and then we'll probably come back here to play some cards for a while. Not sure what else is on the agenda. Will probably just play it by ear.
I got an e-mail from dd #1 giving me an update on one of the nurses she works with. (I think I posted about it here) He had an aneurysm about a week ago... it didn't look good for him at all. Yesterday he suddenly woke up... recognized everyone, spoke okay... seems to be totally okay/normal. They're keeping him in ICU and plan on doing some more tests on him just to make sure. He wants to take a shower... go home and eat. LOL Does he know how lucky he is? Wow...
Not much else. Hope you all have a great day.
Yes it actually snowed a little here in Southern California yesterday morning...LOL....On my way to work, I saw actual snowflakes on my windshield...weird stuff man :frosty:
I slept till 7:30 am this morning, ds is at bb practice, in a gym so he is happy...dd is getting ready for her practice at 9:00 am.....dh is going to pick up coffee for dad and I....
House cleaning, and puttering...movies and good conversation...
Enjoy your day all!

Where does your dh go for coffee? Do you ever make your own? Do you have a certain favorite you go out for? :)

Girl, do you know how much you spend a year on going out for coffee?? YIKES! That amount might just fund our summer vacation. LOL

LOL...but my weekend coffee is worth it....;)
Well, I actually got on the treadmill this morning while dh worked out. We are funny because we both have our MP3 players on, don't talk to each other, but quite happy that we are exercising together. LOL
I just began a new book called "Best year of your Life". So far I love it and it is quite insightful. Let it be known to the universe, that this WILL be the best year of my life! Okay, did I convince everyone?? LOL
Any time someone is talking about saving money, donating money, whatever..they always say 'if you took the money you spent on Starbucks.....' LOL
we had people that came in and got a $5 drink everyday!!!!!
Donna, massages sound wonderful! you have date night when the kids are visiting? what do they do?
Renee, heard about the snow..what fun!

We're going to the Gaslight today! :yippee: Should be fun. I've been cleaning a bit, but not much. We're having a homeschool meeting here Monday.

I was thinking the same thing. Dh is very picky about his coffee, (we drink Starbuck's whole bean and we grind our own) and would love to go out and pick some up each/every morning... but there is no way we could afford that. LOL
One of my friends use to pick up coffee (from Starbucks) each/every morning on her way in to work. She didn't realize just how much it was costing her a month until her dh nicely brought it to her attention. LOL For Christmas, he bought her a very expensive (some special kind of) coffee maker. She said she's got it "down pretty perfect", so it tastes just about like what she was buying. A LOT cheaper... so they're both happy. LOL

I REALLY need to get back on my treadmill too... I've just been way too lazy to get up on it to say nothing about walking a mile or two on it. LOL I've just got to get myself some motivation and get going... that wedding is coming up fast and I need to loose some weight!!

and you shouldn't have to.
I think ya'll either have interesting math skills or a much better travel agent and contractor than I have!!!
the average starbucks drink is $3.50. at once a week that is only $182 a year.
i think all of us piss away that amount on stuff that we like
diane, all the fast food you eat
amy, chinese food, ferret food
me, my nails
point is, we all have things we spend money on that might look odd to others.

I guess I'm really bad becaue I do all those things, lol, well, except the pets. It's so interesting, I have a hard time watching people who keep a pet when they barely get by financially, thinking, what a waste of money. Those people usually look at a pet like a child though and how mean of me to think "you can't afford that."
Brichard buys a "coffee of the day" every day of the week and at $2 that equals $520 a year. If you buy a fancy drink that makes it closer to $1000/year and some people buy more than one a day so I can see why people complain about it.

Depends. This weekend my boys are with their Dad. Dh's ds is going bowling with a friend - we'll pick them both up when we're done and the friend will spend the night too. Dh's dd will just hang out here. Life goes on.
Edited to add: Or not. The spa just called and they're closing early tonight because it's getting icy here. Oh well, wine and the fireplace here I guess.

In my case I feel it's a lot cheaper for dh and I just to go out to eat because it's just him and I. We can walk away spending $10 to $12.00, sometimes less, between the both of us, which is a lot cheaper than what I'd spend if we stayed home and ate.

I put milk and Sweet and Low in mine, so I can't really taste the difference, but dh drinks his black, and he insists the stuff from Starbucks tastes much better.
I think it would be easy to go out for coffee if your choices at home suck.LOL While I was working, Lovey and I came across this website: http://www.coffeebeandirect.com/ and called them up. The owner says he doesn't roast the beans until the order comes in and mails it out the same day. Without a shadow of a doubt it is much better than any store bought coffee or (gasp) premium coffee store. LOL We get the Sumatra Mandheling/whole bean. We grind our own right before brewing.
I agree that everyone has their weaknesses. The only time that it become questionable is if you really can't afford it or the money could pay off debt. I am proud to say- besides a very small mortgage, we are completely debt free, so buying ferret food (I still think that is a hiliarous example Ann! ROFL) is just a crazy splurge to keep our ferrets healthy and ALIVE! LMAO

.
From what i understand, they both get coffee every Saturday and Sunday. If it is $3.50 per coffee, that is $14 per weekend/$56 per month/$672 per year. That doesn't include gas to get to and from. For close to $700, I could do some damage on a vacation. :) Actually, when I was doing the numbers originally, I thought they were going out everyday for it-that came closer to $2500.
Renee, by no means am I judging you for spending your hard earned money any way you want, but when someone questions my superior math skills, then I must go set it straight. ;)
LOL

LOL there is no reason for you even to have to post this. you do not have to justify why you go out to eat. what business is it of ours how you choose to spend your money?? Just like it's none of our business how anyone else chooses to spend their money.

I'll give you the math ;) but I call BS on the rest! LOL If you weren't questioning her spending habits, you wouldn't have done the math in the first place :goofy:

As long as I have my Folgers brewing in the morning. I am good to go, after all, "the best part of waking up, is Folgers in your cup." Today, was a relaxing day for me, I slept until 5 and then went to dinner at 6. I read this play for my playwriting class that is absolutely AWFUL. I wonder if my teacher knew that the play was horrible and just had us read it to find out our opinion. I ran into one of my guy friends that I'm crushin' on right now and all he can do, when we pass each other is give me the stare. I so hate that, why must men play with my emotions. My birthday is coming up soon and I can't wait! I don't know why, I'm soo excited for my birthday this year, I shouldn't be considering it makes me that much closer to 30.
Anyways, hope everyone had a great day! Enjoy your date night! Enjoy your coffee! (oooh Starbucks sounds really good right about now) Just enjoy life in general this evening!

I wasn't questioning her spending habits as much as I was thinking out loud what I would do with the money if I had it to spend. :P
Ok, so we watched "Night Listener" which was really good, and "Little Miss Sunshine" which was so funny, the ending had me laugh my butt off...(not going to give it away) but how totally Hypocritical!

No offense taken ;)
I remember when I was a smoker, saying I can't wait to save this $4.25 per pack every other day...I will put this money away and save it...Funny thing is I didn't, you don't end up phycially putting that CASH in a jar like your spending it....good intentions, but it usually just absorbed into some new thing...LOL...

Can't really contribute to the coffee discussion--I don't drink the stuff. Water's about it for me. Pop, only once in a great while cause it makes me sick. Juice only at snack time. Milk--can't tolerate it.
Brr...it's cold here. Single digits and negative double digit windchills. We have a few light flakes coming down too.
Slept in a little today. Made some cookies, made dinner, went to town and got groceries, came home, got ready for church, went to church, came home to eat supper and have been watching the movie "The Terminal."
Tomorrow I need to work on paperwork and tax stuff. 'Puter goes in Monday. Major problems going on. Thurs. am all of dh's stuff was missing from him side (including his checking account information!) Restarted the computer and it came back. Thursday night my checking account disappeared. Restarted and it came back. Luckily we do have them backed up with a memory stick.
Really need to get a separate one for the kids to use so they don't mess up our stuff.
Hope you all have a good night!!
