I am so happy for these boys and their parents....I have been watching the SD talk to CNN and wow how incredibly bitter sweet, Shawn went missing at age 11 and was found now at age 15....and the other boy was missing since Tues....
It gives you hope that they will find more missing children.

The article I read this morning didn't give any info about what actually happened, why they weren't trying to escape, why the guy took them, etc. Are you hearing anything more on it?

I watched the news conference of the boy missing a long times' parents. He was there but didn't speak. Amazing...
What is really scary, is that if Ben hadn't been taken on Monday, they might never have found Shawn....
Mickey, it sounds like Shawn doesnt want or maybe the police don't want him to talk about the specifics...but he was held for 4 years, he wasn't allowed to go to school, isn't talking about what the man did ...people saw him outside with the man pitching a tent once and just assumed they were father and son....its just amazing that he was found alive....

I've been watching this on and off since I first heard about it. The family of the longest missing boy... Shawn Hornbeck, was aware that they were searching for him and had even seen some of the posters and benches they had set up. (they had set up a foundation in his name) I guess they think he may be suffering from Stockholm syndrome. Several people said they had seen him and the guy that had him, and that he could have tried to escape, but didn't. I can't imagine what they've been through, and I hope they will get the help they'll need to try to get over everything they've been through. Thank God they are alive! Just think of the hope that this gives to other families who have missing kids. :)

That was a weird case too. That couple (especially the guy) were real creepy...
I am so glad they were both returned home. I shudder to think of what especially Sean Hornbeck has been through. :\

I guess the guy was a known sex offender. :(

Listening to the news... I'm SO wondering why Shawn never told anyone or never tried running away. It sounds to me like he was living a pretty normal/regular life... had friends he went outside and did things with. It's not like he wasn't old enough to figure this out or to run away when he had the opportunity. He even had his own cell phone! :(
We have no idea at this point, what that animal said or did to the boy(s). Psychological imprisonment can be just as intimidating and devastating.

Really? I haven't heard anyone else say that.

My first instinct would be to say that it will have more of an impact on him in the future because he'll have to deal with the guilt people put on him for not trying to run away.
Exactly Donna. I feel for the kids as the 2nd guessing starts.
Diane, I hadn't heard that either. I have read that he was known in the community cause he grew up near there. Also read that just before they found the boy the police had questioned him about his truck and then became suspicious based on his reaction.

All the news shows I've seen have said that he only had minor traffic violations. Those poor boys, I'm so glad they are out of there!

I haven't heard much but haven't been catching the news. How wonderful that the boys were found and are able to go home. I really feel for the one that was gone for so long, I'm sure there are so many things that run through a kids mind about running away or not and all the reasons we couldn't even begin to fathom what he's gone/going through. I hope he gets councelling no matter what or how happy he may seem to be home. I'm sure you can't just pick up the pieces as easily as others would like.
