Happy Martin Luther King Day! The kids are snoozing  and brichard's plane should be taking off soon. He is off for a day in Charlotte. I hate that he is flying today because the weather is supposed to turn cold and icy. Not the best flying weather. I'm sure they will just stay in Charlotte if they shouldn't fly though.

Our area museums, zoo, ball parks are all free today (with a canned food donation) with a bunch of kid activities. I think we might go to the ball park (baseball) and do the inside activites they have planned and then hit one of the museums we don't have a pass for on the way home. Hopefully by then the crowd will have calmed a little. It is the busiest day of the year for all of them.

I guess I'd better make a dinner plan, I'm sure I'll be tired when we get home and Brichard will be hungry when he gets here.

Have a great day all!

Good heavens it's below freezing here and is supposed to be that way all day! I only have 3 kids this afternoon since school's out, but I doubt they'll all show up. Tomorrow's back to reality with a full schedule and no weather or holiday excuse.

I'll finish working on the therapy materials I have here, then if I can get to the teacher's store to laminate, I'll have more to cut out!

Have a great day all!

No big plans here today. Dh and I cleared a lot of junk out of our room and closet, feels good to have it gone. We still need to move the furniture around but it's not a rush now the rest of it is gone. I can't believe how much we had in boxes. lol Ds1 is just about to leave for school. I'm going to go back to bed for a while before I have to get ds2 up. Looks like it snowed last night, ds is happy. lol Hope you all have a good day :)
Donna, why do so many not show or cancell at a last minute and is there not a charge for not giving 24 hours notice?

Well, in theory we charge for no shows and last minute cancellations, but if a child is sick or the roads are icy I can't really justify it.

We are getting a lovely ice storm brewing today. It is coming up from the southeast and from northwest. It is hovering between 32 and 33 degrees, so once the weather changes there will be ice and snow. Thankfully, the kids have off today and dh can re-schedule his day because it is light.

Now that my day is shot, and we can't go anywhere it should be fun. There is going to be some competition for the computer. LOL

All that bad weather is heading here. Today's high is 40 and tomorrow they are saying ice and sleet.
gotta clean house. dd is auditioning for our district girls choir this afternoon. it's kind of nice compliment to her. auditions are in May but her voice teacher (that she started with in October) called the director and said 'this girl needs to be in the choir!'.

Amy, guess the system is just missing us, no ice. But we now have winter and the kids are so excited. They want the ice slide in use again. lol They are somewhat disappointed that the buses are still running though. I don't know why they would be, I'm not. :goofy:
Ann, good luck to your dd joining the choir. What a nice compliment from the voice teacher. :)
Donna, I can see your point. Just thought they were cancelling a lot and maybe for other reasons or didn't feel like going. :)

I am so jealous!

Getting the kids off to the Y, then off to the office for me...dh is already at his office....said its really cold out there, weird weather California is having....

I have an early meeting with some people from the UK this morning....then a lunch meeting with more VP's.

Did I mention that last week I ran in to my old boss......it was weird, all those bad feeling I had for that place and him, were right there in my throat.
I could he was taken back by seeing me, I felt great, and I knew I looked great in my charcoal suit, and felt confident., It was good and therapeutic
I smiled sweetly, but didn't engage sometimes less is more..;)
I did go back to the office and tell my NEW boss how much I enjoy working for him....I have to say I do  love my new job....

Taking dd pants shopping after work, she says the waist in her jeans is too tight...then home for dinner, dh has an experiment in the crock pot.

Pork Roast
Chili seasoning
a can of black beans
a can of pinto beans
a can of butter beans
a can of kidney beans
a sautéed onion, garlic and a large can of Rotel tomatoes.

Smells good.

Have a great day off all. ENJOY

You're going to have to let us know how it tasted, Renee... :)
Ann... Good luck to your dd.
Angie... Sounds like a busy day out with the kids. Have fun!
Mel... Glad to hear you're getting everything cleared out. What a great feeling!

Not much at all going on around here today. I've got Sarah coming in at 11:00/30. We'll probably bake a cake for her to take home and/or some cookies. I bought her her very own apron... and she loves wearing it. After she's got it on I probably won't get it off from her for the rest of the day. I've been thinking about making her doll one too seeing she has to help too. LOL

I had to return my rental car last night. It wasn't due back until today but I just wasn't going to have any time to get it back today, and with the snow/ice coming I didn't want to chance it. It was just starting to snow when we took off last night, so I just made it in time. I'm going to miss not having my car and I'm hoping they'll get to mine and get it fixed... pronto! :)

Not much else. Hope you all have a great day!

Oh Ann, how wonderful!
Renee, glad you had good feelings about yourself when you saw your old boss. Good for you!

Nothing close to winter weather here. :( It'll be around 72 today, but it will drop 30 degrees tomorrow but no hint of precip.

No school, no work (until tonight) but lots of laundry and a trip to the hospital.

(((Jen))) I'm glad there's a possibility of your sd getting into a regular room sometime soon!

Ann... congrats to your dd!!! That's awesome!

Angie, I'd love to live in your area! It seems like there's tons of neat stuff to do.

Donna, I can see your point. Just thought they were cancelling a lot and maybe for other reasons or didn't feel like going. :)

No, these clinics are pretty good. I did my externship at a clinic that had about a 35% cancellation rate all the time, but so far so good at these. Now, Christmas was pretty slow because people were traveling for 2 and 3 weeks at a time. We closed the entire week of Christmas, and about 50% of the kids were gone the following week, too. That's why I've never been able to do private practice until now, I couldn't afford to take the time to build my caseload and cope with the up and down income.

Good for her! How does she feel like she did? Is this private or school choir?

Thanks Angie and Sista!

i am so frustrated. the POTENTIAL ice storm is freaking everyone out. some schools are already closing. ds keeps calling (he is out to dinner) and saying that our district is closing and i keep telling him that the district home page says they aren't going to decide anything till the am!!! (would be nice to know now so we could sleep in!)
