I have always said if there was one thing I would change about myself it would be my vision....well my brother is going in on the 17th and having it done....he wears some pretty thick glasses and is tired of contacts...I am excited for him, and actually can't wait to hear how he likes it....I want it too...its expensive, but I have heard good things.

Anyone have it done or know someone who has had it done?

Funny thing...I've got a consultation on Feb. 20th to see if I'm a good candidate. I'm pretty sure I am, but we'll see how much it's gonna cost, lol.

I am told it's very quick and you do have something to relax you, so you really don't care. ;)

I had it back in 2000. I LLLOOOOOOVE it! I am still fairly close to 20/20. I had a huge fear I was going to go blind. The place in Colorado Springs was like a cattle run. There was a group of us (about 15) and they sit you in a room, give you valium, move you to the next room and give you a series of eye drops and then numbing drops right before your operation. All the operations were on display because it was glass enclosed facing the waiting room. So people waiting for their consultations could see how it would be before they had it done. My operation was done within 5 minutes.

The only fall back is that night driving is hard. The glare of lights from oncoming traffic is intensified for me. I have light colored eyes, so that is part of the problem.

I would LOVE to have it done! I have a genetic eye disorder...and my vision has always been an issue for me. So far, I'm not a candidate. I tell my dh that the minute they can do it for my eyes...I'm in!!! I've had glasses since I was 9 months old...and contacts since I was 18. I'm so done with all of it!!!

I know several people who have had it done and love it. I would love to have it someday - need money LOL and also need to get over the freak out factor of being awake (without without valium it still freaks me out LOL)!!
