View Full Version : Permanent Makeup...

Dh's cousin just opened up her own shop that does this. I know I don't wear my makeup the same way I did when I was younger. Even now I don't always wear it the same... depends upon the occasion I'm going to. Would you do something this permanent? Just curious...

if i weren't so much of a wuss, i might do my eyeliner but my sisters have done it and said it's like getting tatooed - too painful for me.
ACK! Never would I do it. I am too lazy to put makeup on in the first place, so I would look like a freak with some dark eyeliner and nothing else. LOL
I have seen the permanent eyeliner done well and done badly. When it's done well, it just defines your eyes nicely.
I would never do a permanent color like lips or eye shadow.

Never. No way. I barely trust someone to wax my eyebrows properly.

I would safely venture to say that I agree with all ya'll .. I dont' like pain so any type of tattooing is out for me ... yuckie ..
And I don't like the idea of having to wear the same shade of lipstick daily either ... nope nope ...

Not interested. But my mother is and has talked about doing it for a while now.
Dh's cousin had it done in Southern California and it looks great. The soft black eyeliner has faded to a blue-ish color, but it still looks really nice with her eye color. She did her lips and the color suits her--she usually wears gloss over it, but she occasionally enhances the color with lipstick. She's very fair and has light blonde hair (naturally) and she had her eyebrows done, too--they look really natural. She was a personal trainer for years and was always working out and showering, so that's why she decided to do it.
I have never seen it done really badly, so I can't comment on that, but I can imagine that it must be horrible to be stuck with something that isn't right. My cousin has had regular body tattoos and she has a couple that are just not right--she's tried to have them fixed, but sometimes that makes it worse.
Not something I'd want to mess with at all.
I had to come back and find this post as my friend just had her lips done. She said it hurt like hell (she has several tattoos and said it hurt worse). They do tattoo you when they do permanent makeup. Anyway, she said that night her lips were so swollen she looked like a fish. Then she ended up with fever blisters all over her top lip. I know now she's regretting that she had it done. She doesn't even know if the color is going to hold in her top lip and she said NOTHING would ever make her get it fixed because it hurt so bad.
Just another reason I'd never have it done! LOL

Oh... that poor girl. I don't think it's anything I'd ever consider either. :(
I had a friend do the eye liner, it looked great on one eye, but the other never healed right (little jagged lookin) she also said it hurt like she couldn't descibe.....no thank you.

I can only imagine how bad it would hurt!!! :\ Don't they say tattoos hurt worse in places with no fat? :nervous:

I think tattoos hurt differently on different people. It depends a lot of the person's threshold for pain.

I think you're right. Dd's # 2 and 3 both had tattoos put on the bottom part of their backs at the same time, and while I didn't hear one word of complaint from dd #3, dd #2 went on and on about how tender it was and how much it hurt. I'd like to get a small tattoo but because it's small I don't think (am hoping) that it would hurt too much. :)
