was killed tonight

she got hit by a car apparently making her way home.
dd was at dance when it happened
our neighbor saw her and called us
i am just so numb; i never thought i'd love a cat like this. she was such a sweet sweet kitty and so much like a dog it wasn't even funny.
dd is inconsolable and dh and i are bleary eyed. that poor kitty, she didn't deserve to die so young.

dh saw a car parked in the middle of the road earlier and saw a white kitty that roams our street sitting in the road. looking back, it must have been the car who hit her and the white kitty knew she was dead or dying and sat with her. her best friend cat who lives next door was sitting at the edge of his yard looking at the road when our neighbor came home. isn't it amazing how they connect with one another

it's going to be a long night, could you just remember our dd in your prayers that she can settle down and begin to understand

I know! :bawling:
Dh and I just beside ourselves. She was the sweetest cat, would let dd do anything to her - hold her like a baby, you name it.
It was awful for her to go to bed without the cat on the foot of the bed, biting at her toes last night.
It was awful coming downstairs this morning and not seeing that little face peek around the corner.
:bawling:

It was just an awful way to die and she just didn't deserve to go so young.

Thanks everyone (again - seems I'm always dumping here lately).

We loved her tons and she taught us about unconditional love and made us want to get another cat which is the ironic part... we were never cat people until she found us. It still hurts so much and I'm crying like a baby but... that'll end.

Your cat looks just like the one I had that got hit by a car, except mine had a little white dot on her chest. You're not being a baby... you're just missing your cat. (((HUGS)))

ours had a white spot on her belly!
when dh brought her to the back yard, her collar was gone - he flipped her over to find the white spot, i so hoped it wasn't her.

Midnight (our cat) was a good cat too. I swear we all cried a good two to three weeks before we started feeling even a little better. :( She use to love to fetch. We'd wad up a little piece of aluminum foil and flick it across the kitchen/down the stairs. She'd crouch down (wiggling her little butt back and forth) until we flicked it, then she'd take off like a bat out of hell after it... :biglaugh: She'd bring it back and drop it back down on the floor in front of us so we could do it again. She'd do this over and over.... :) It was so funny. LOL All those good memories are what helped us get through what happened to her. We waited a few months before getting another cat. We couldn't stand not having a cat around. :) She's a good cat, but has never been the cat Midnight was.

Sorry for rambling... (((HUGS))) to you all. I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Awww!
Spooky (since dh rescued her the night before Halloween) used to do that with dd's erasers. lol She'd get them under the throw rugs and have at the rugs till she got them out.
I'm not sure how long to wait. Part of me wants to see if another cat will "come to us" like she did, or go find another one in time for dd's b'day next month. She wants a kitten but I'm not so sure I do.
