I didn't wake up until 9:15 this morning. 8o Of course, we didn't get to bed until after 1:00... so I guess that isn't really too bad. :)
Not much planned for the day. We'll probably be spending most of the day working on the bathroom. Were going to have to hurry and pick out our tile because after were done today... that will be the next step. I see a trip to either Home Depot or Menards in our plans for the day... LOL I don't mind going there knowing exactly what we need so we can just grab it and get out of there, but I can't stand it when dh gets there and suddenly doesn't know "exactly" what he needs, then stands there for hours looking at everything. Then we end up going there two or three times until we finally have it all. Dh is normally very prepared, he's a list guy... measures everything, usually knows his stuff... which has made this part of redoing the bathroom a real pain. Can't wait until it's all done. :)
Going to start going through some file cabinets today and reorganizing, getting rid of crap we no longer need to make room for more. :) Not much else.
Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Getting my blinds today! I ordered 2" wooden ones throughout the house.
Then my baby shower is at 4! :) My first shower! I didn't have one with ds--I had just moved to San Diego when I got pregnant, so I didn't know anyone there! Anyway, really looking forward to it!
Need to work on the baby's room and do laundry, if our houseguest isn't using the washing machine. Did I mention that we've had a house guest for almost six months? And before him, we had another one (three weeks on, one week off) for over a year. Nothing personal, but I want my house back.
Diane, why can't dh go by himself? I hate Home Depot--I went with my fil once, who took forever deciding what to get, and I could not wait to get out of there!!! Dh isn't a Home Depot kinda guy, but he does that at Best Buy! Last time we were there, I said, "After this, let's go to the beauty supply house so I can have a wander around." (He got the point! ;))

Need to get my behind in gear and get ready. Ds2 has a basketball game later and it's a fair enough drive. No other big plans and I haven't been anywhere all week so I can see myself shopping this afternoon. The whole weekend is pretty much plan free which is great. :)
Hope you all have a good day!
What fun...the decorations for dd's Luau birthday party and our Mardi Gras party just arrived..they are just too cute!
and now it looks like dd's party maybe a week earlier than we thought. a big conflict has come up with the date we had picked for half the guest listing (including dd! LOL). so now we can have her party 3 weeks before her birthday or 3 weeks after (it falls during spring break)..she picked before. ;)
Mickey, how exciting about the shower. have fun

because he's picking out some things that he wants my input on... such as which toilet, sinks, faucets... shower/shower head... tiles. Sometimes he needs help lifting the bigger stuff (like dry wall) onto the cart and into the van. That and... our van isn't exactly in the best of shape... :biglaugh: for some reason (probably the transmission) it won't back up, so I follow him down there just in case it breaks down  and to park in front of him so nobody else does. LOL I don't mind going when we've got something in mind to get... but (he's the same way at Best Buy/Radio shack... all computer places) sometimes he's just SOOO incredibly slow in making up his mind. Ugh!! I guess I go mostly because he wants/needs me there. LOL

How fun, your first baby shower! Hope you have a lot of fun and get lots of cute stuff. Let us know how it went. :)

You're a MUCH better person than I am. There is no way I could do that. 8o I couldn't stand sharing my house with anybody, not even a week to say nothing about 6 months... plus the guest you had before. I don't blame you for wanting your house back. How much longer are they planning on staying? Hope not long. Ugh....

OMG I won't lift anything anymore, not since I herniated my disc. That is what those guys in the orange vests are for. ;)
Good luck shopping at the Depot...
Mickey, How fun, enjoy yourself at your Shower today!
WOW that sure sounds like a long time to have someone stay with you..YIKES, do I dare ask, is this family?
Ann ~ How fun about the decorations, I am sure you will figure out a date for the party.
Mickey, have a great party! How exciting!
Well, I am a moron. I decided to take some alker seltzer plus for this miserable cold/headache I have and it seems I took the night time version instead of the daytime (the pack has both kinds). :crazyroll I looked at dh after I just had some high caffeine coffee and said I have to go to bed. After I woke up and was still groggy, dh looked at the package and said his last nighttime cold meds were gone. LOL So I am in a fog just waiting for this stuff to wear off.

Mickey Have fun at your shower!!!!!
Sleeting and cold today. Headed to town early, got my shopping done. I had to run to my hairdresser to see if she could squeeze me in before my interview on the 3rd (I had an appt. on the 8th but didn't want to show up with my roots in all their glory). Then spent the rest of the day polishing my resume, cover letters to various other schools, my educational philosophy, and working on my portfolio. I gotta tell you though I never expected to ever be in this position again. I really thought I'd be where I'm at until retirement.
Word to the wise: keep that resume up to date at all times.
Mickey, I'm so excited for you. Hope you enjoyed your shower. Congratulations again.

Every once in a while my back will give me some problems... but normally not. I do a lot of heavy lifting, so it really doesn't bother me.
The guy's in the those nice orange vests never seem to be around when you need them. LOL
Kat (((((((HUGS)))))))))) Here is hoping everything goes great on your interview!

My busy day is finally over and I'm about to fall asleep at the computer. I got up at 7:30, left at 8:30 for CPR class about an hour away. Class got over about noon, rushed back to town for our preschool bowling party. Then at 3 I started getting groceries. Dropped the girls off for their cheerleading/dance clinic final practice and performance. Got the rest of my groceries, went to church, went to the ball game. The girls performed at halftime and then we left because it was snowing again and we could barely find the middle of the road on the way home. Got home and fixed supper and watched some tv.
No plans for tomorrow except sleeping in and working on the usual paperwork stuff. Probably look up some info for lesson plans.
Anybody out there still lacking snow?? We've got plenty to share.
night all!

Good luck on your interview, Kat! I hope it goes well for you!
The shower was actually a "Blessing Way" and it was absolutely beautiful! There were 10 of my close friends there and they each lit a candle and went around the room, taking turns saying the sweetest, kindest things about me and then they shared their wishes for my baby! Then they each gave me a bead made out of different types of stones and explained the significance of their choices. They are making a "Mothering Bracelet" for me with the beads. Then, I opened gifts and there were the cutest baby girl outfits and a handmade blanket and afghan and a Boppy nursing pillow, as well as some other really nice things! Then, I had a pedicure and hand massage and was totally pampered! I was just spoiled rotten and felt so grateful for my amazing friends!
Ahhhh...off to have sweet dreams! :)
