View Full Version : Do you have a favorite place in your house?
Someplace that you feel like supper comfortable and safe and warm....your own special spot?
When I had the little 9 inch tv in my old kitchen (now laundry/mud room), I used to be able to spend a whole Sat. in there just putzing around. Now I don't really have a room like that so I tend to wander more often, lol.
Our study. It's the smallest room, but probably the prettiest room in our house. It's where the computer is and we just recently put a tv in the room. I can see out the windows to the street so I can see what is going on! LOL
I just love it.
On the couch with bundled up with a quilt my grandma made. Either reading or watching tv.

We all seem to gravitate to the same room at the same time, either the living room or the kitchen. Just depends on the day. I love the living room at Christmas too, I could keep the tree up all year to look at the lights. lol Sometimes the kitchen if I really want to cook. :)
Sounds silly but we all love sitting on the steps coming into the kitchen to talk. Don't know why we prefer the steps to a chair, maybe because we have to sit so close or on knees. lol

My bed! LOL! Flannel sheets & bed warmer along with a good book, fav tv show, or snuggling and catching up with dks. :tinysmile I could crawl in ANY time and I look forward to it every day!! LOL
If we're all up and about I love our main floor. It's open and I have a good view out the front and into the backyard - it's especially pretty in the winter with all of the snow. :)

My main floor (kitchen/mudroom/dinette/foyer/family room). Our house is very open...you can see most of the downstairs from the kitchen. I love being involved in everything that's going on in the house.

I love my little office area where the computer is. It's small but very cozy. :) During the day I'll usually take the tv from the exercise room and put it in the office so I can watch tv (watch All My Children) and be on the computer at the same time.
Another room I like is what I call our "Futon" room. It's dd's old bedroom where we put an extra tv that has the DVD/VCR hooked up to it. That's where I go to watch all the shows I've missed and recorded. The Futon in there is soooo comfy/cozy, I can't resist laying down on it with a nice warm blanket.
I also like my sewing room, which isn't at all finished off. It's down in our basement next to the laundry room. It's a very small room, nothing fancy at all. I put a tv and radio down there, and will often sit/sew down there while the laundry is going.
I love all of the rooms in my house... but will usually spend most of my time in those three. Our basement family room is also a nice quiet comfortable place... it very private because it's got no windows in it... so it's dark, which makes it a great room to sit and watch movies. We usually go down there when were feeling anti social... because nobody can see if were home or not. :)
I would say our room, BIG FLUFFY SOFT Bed, and bedding, My rocking chair. I have a sliding glass door which leads to the patio and I can see all the trees and roses its very calming and safe and warm, after a day in the cold hard world. :)

Sounds great, and thanks for reminding me to go upstairs to turn my electric blanket on. LOL I too love my bedroom since we redid it. I  my sleep number bed, so I'll add that as another one of my favorite rooms in my house. (I guess I love all of the rooms in my house... :biglaugh: )

I don't have a favorite room in my house right now, but I am partial to my recliner. However, growing up my two favorite rooms were the formal living room and the guest bedroom. The piano was in the living room and I loved going in there and getting away from everyone else with just me and my music. For some reason I liked sleeping in the guest bedroom more than my own. Maybe it was next to the furnace and I liked the soothing sound of it in the wintertime.
