How is your ds doing?
Have you seen any changes since you have been home?
well, we are having something going on right now. he's been having white bm's since 9 last night and it pain. called the doc and we are going in at 3.
he was supposed to have school today and wasn't feeling up for it, but thankfully his teacher had to cancel!
i haven't really noticed a change in anything since i have been home.
Ann, have you ever looked at www.familydoctor.org ? I like the way they ask about your symtoms there. A lot of the symptoms tell you to call the doc, but others give different possible problems that could cause your symptoms.
I looked at that site (and others) and it's why i called the doc.

the two things it could be are hepatitus or bile duct obstruction. pretty much ruled out hepatitus and not completely sure it isn't the obstruction. gotta watch him for certain things for the rest of the week and report back Friday.

I just can't imagine what you and your family are going through. This medical mystery must be diving you all crazy. I was watching Dateline the other night and more people go through these things that I ever realized....

You want a diagnosis so they can find a cure, or some get the meds. NOT A SUCKY MOTHER! NOT NOT NOT! :)

Why is it sucky to want an answer to your ds's problem? 8o Knowing something is better than not knowing.... and you could never be a sucky mom... :)

if that makes us sucky, hey - we're in good company! LOL but you're not sucky, just worried and sick of not knowing what the heck is wrong with your baby. hang in there! ((((hugs))))

Aww, sweetie! It's not like you have a perfectly healthy kid and want that. You are looking for some kind of diagnosis so a treatment that will work permanently can be done. You are not a sucky mother for thinking this, I would be too. Hang in there, prayers for ds. ((hugs))

I can't remember what all your ds's symptoms are, but I know when Sarah has a blockage she gets an awful stomach ach and can't keep anything down. :(
Hopefully you'll be getting some answers real soon. :)
Does Sarah get bile duct obstructions?
How will you know if it's an obstruction? Do they do some sort of testing, if so, when will that be done. BTW, you aren't horrible, you're wanting answers!
there are blood tests or ultrasound. he didn't have all the symptoms of an obstruction and the white poop alone wasn't worth putting ds through anything unnecessary. told me what to watch for.

Yep... she has. Not as much now as she use to but she has had them quite a few times.
besides stomach ache and vomiting what were her symptoms? how fast did they progress?

Am talking to Dawn and she said what Sarah had was not a bile duct obstruction but was a small bowl obstruction.
Has your ds had an GI? She said that would rule out the bowl obstruction.

two very different things.
an upper or lower GI? yes..many. they don't do upper or lower GI's for a bile duct obstruction usually.
