Education for 3 years old

Is it ok to send my son at school at the age of 3?

I'd say that depends on a lot of different factors. Is it an all day school, 1/2 day, a few hours? Is it all academics, or is learning centered around play? Is your child closer to 3 or 4? Are you looking for structured learning where your child will learn his/her abc's, counting, etc. or are you looking for a place for your child to get exposure to those things and some social interraction?

In my opinion pre-school can be a good thing if your child is ready to be there (emotionally able to be away from you and verbally able to communicate to you if something is not right, etc.). Cramming academics into a 3yo's head isn't a good thing. I don't know of many (any?) preschools that are like that... but some parents can be overly ambitious for their child and do more harm than good. A mature 3yo or an almost 4yo is probably ready for a pre-school setting.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. Welcome to the Idea Box! I gotta run and take my 4yo to preschool! :D
