Hey... I am sorry that I haven't been around lately. Things have been really rough around here, and I have been diagnosed with severe depression and having an anxiety disorder.
It started when I fell asleep one day on my planning period and someone reported that I was drinking at school. They had a sheriff's deputy come and escort me from class (in front of my children) to the county office. They would not do a breathalizer even though I volunteered to do one. They suspended me for three days. When they let me figured out that I wasn't drinking, I requested my three days pay back. I was unable to receive that back because my principal went and told blantent lies about me. She said that I hadn't completed my library, that I wasn't doing centers, that I was showing up late every day.
Anyways skip ahead, with our finanicial problems that we were having, being suspended didn't help. I wound up getting suspended for four more days because of lies, and finally had to turn in a medical leave of absence. I was having blackouts and anxiety attacks, and I couldn't be in the classroom.
My husband wound up losing his job too. He came home one day to check on me to make sure that I was okay with the baby, and someone turned him in so he was fired. Now neither one of us have any income.
Anyways that is what has been going on with me.
Ds is doing awesome. I can't believe he is almost 6 months old. He weighs 17 pounds and 12 ounces. He is 25 1/2 inches long. He is scooting all over the place. He is also teething. He loves to keep his legs moving. He pretty much sleeps through the night He loves for someone to talk to him, and he talks back. He is the most adorable baby in the whole world. He is almost sitting up, but hasn't quite mastered it yet. He is just starting to eat babyfood, and that can be quite humerous at times. He is also trying to take a sippy cup.
Well, I will try to come around more often. I am supposed to start my medication tomorrow, and the doctor said it would take about 6 weeks for me to get back to feeling normal, and I can't wait.
Once again I am sorry I dropped off the face of the earth.
wow Leigh! so glad to see you again but so sad to hear all your struggles!
i bet you could hire an attorney on contigency and file a wrongful termination suit.
take care!!

Wow Leigh! Sounds like you guys have a lot going on! Had your dh missed a lot of work that they fired him for leaving once? I agree with Ann - I think it would be worth it to look into your legal options - that just doesn't seem right...... Anyway, hope things look up soon. Glad to hear your ds is such a good baby and you're enjoying him. :tinysmile
Oh, Leigh! (((HUGS))) I agree with Ann and Karla. I hope you find other options, soon! It's good to hear from you again.

I agree with the others... I'd go after them. Not only did they wrongfully terminate you, but they also totally humiliated you in front of all your students and your colleges. I for one, would never put up with that... :(
I'm glad to hear that your little one is doing so well and is such of a good little baby. It's nice hearing from you again... and I hope you do come back and keep us posted as to how things are going for you. (((HUGS)))

Thanks everyone...we have thought about going after them, but we have to find a lawyer first. I wasn't terminated (I was suspended by them), but I chose to take a medical leave of absence to keep my sanity because basically they were trying to fire me, so now at least I have the rest of the year to look for another job without having to put that I was fired on a resume or application.
Does anyone know anything about prozac, wellbutrin, or xanax? That is what the doctor prescribed me today.
Sounds like you have a lot going on right now. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Has dh started looking for another job?

Are you supposed to take these medications at the same time?

they were trying to fire me,
What on earth would make them want to do that?
As far as the drugs, I'm with Jen, I highly doubt they are all to be taken together.
good lord, do not take all those together and if that's what the doctor told you to do, GET A NEW DOCTOR NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it's easy to find a personal injury lawyer (hell, just look on tv!). the will not charge you anything up front and they will take 33% of whatever settlement you recieve and nothing if you lose.
I don't have advice...I just hope you make it through all this, and I'm glad to hear your ds is doing so well and you are enjoying him so much.

Leigh, I am sorry you are going though such a difficult time right now. Why is the principal spreading lies and trying to fire you? Some reason I always thought you loved working at that school?
So glad to hear that you are enjoying your son so much, he sounds like a little doll.
I'm with Ann. If a doc told you to take those together, run and find a new doctor. I took Wellebutrin years ago, that worked great for me.
I hope all goes well for you and you are able to pop in and give us an update more often.

I'm so sorry, Leigh. I hope you can find someone who will help you legally.
The baby sounds wonderful! I'm glad he's doing so well!
Regarding the meds, I was prescribed Xanax eight years ago for PMS. I only took it for a couple of days because it was awful for me--of course I didn't feel agitated or teary while taking it...because I kept falling ASLEEP! Someone suggested that I have him lower the dose, but I just didn't like feeling that way. My cousin takes it and it makes her lethargic and sleepy, too (but she doesn't have a baby to look after). My cousin has also taken Prozac and she built up a resistance to it--she ended up on the maximum dose and that eventually stopped being effective for her, so she was put on something else. She has suffered with depression most of her life and they change her meds off and on (they seem to work at first and then they don't work as well).
Anyway, I hope they find something that works for you, but if you're still nursing, make sure you ask your pediatrician for his/her opinion on whatever you end up taking.

I've taken Wellbutrin and it worked wonderfully for me, but I did have to try several different meds before I could say that. Everyone is different, so if what you try doesn't seem to be doing the trick then definitely talk to your dr again and they can adjust the dosage or try a different one combo. There are lots of options, just be sure to communicate with your dr as you try to find what works best for you!
I just googled the 3 meds as a combo and see they have been prescribed that way to others.....

they have been precribed all together at one time???

they have been precribed all together at one time???
Wow... that doesn't sound right. :\ ?(
You know, though, if all three meds are in different classes (? or categories?), then they can be prescribed at the same time, even if they all do the same thing. They may "help" each other work better. Kind of the same as alternating Tylenol and Motrin when your kids are sick, I would think.

Yep - there were gals posting questions and they listed what they were currently on, along with the dosages.
wow! that blows me away. i guess because even though i am on Wellbutrin, i know the dangerous side too cause of my dd's godfather (he's the lawyer that handles all the suicide/murder cases due to those drugs).
Leigh, I hope all this hasn't run you off from posting!!!! And I hope to hell that your doc is really monitoring you. When I first started on mine, I had to go in every month for a check up.

I was surprised those could all go together, too, but I think the dosage amounts play a HUGE role in it as well as excellent communication with the dr and monitoring by the dr.
We had a college student here who died from accidentally taking too much Wellbutrin. She had seizures as a result that they couldn't get under control. :(

Karla, how awful!
I'm surprised they could be taken together. And even more so that the doc wouldn't try just one at a time first. Maybe all that is needed is one med so why start with 3, shouldn't it be the other way around?

i recently went to the max dose of Wellbutrin and the doc really monitored me for signs of seizures. it can also cause rapid heart beat too. i shouldn't have caffiene because of that :\

My cousin, as well as a friend's dh, take "****tails" of drugs for depression--it's obviously more common than you would think. (Like Pam said, I think they are different classes of drugs.) They keep changing the combinations and amounts of each.
I've heard that you can seizure by going off Wellbutrin abruptly, too.
Yeah, Leigh...don't stay away!

Good to hear from you Leigh and that your little guy is doing so well. It's amazing how fast they grow up.
I agree with the others.... the three drugs together sound a little strange. I would get a second opinion.
OMG!
Ok your son is adorable.
What a beautiful baby.
I am so happy he is making you so happy Leigh!
OK, I agree with the others, get a lawyer!
This sounds like fishy :fish: to me too. What a truely awful situation.
As for your Medications, just make sure you are talking with your doctor about all your concerns.
good to see you post.

Thanks gals for all your support. We think we may have found a lawyer that will take the case on a he gets paid if we win basis. Also dh has an interview Friday at the courthouse. It would be a good job, so could ya'll please keep your fingers crossed that he gets it. It looks very promising, but you never know until it is final, and we really need this job because right now we don't even have health insurance.
