Saturday already. :)
Up way too early, couldn't sleep. Thinking I might lay down a little later this afternoon and take a short nap.
Not much planned for the day. Probably working on the bathroom. We can continue on now that the pipes aren't freezing up on us anymore. :yippee: Can't wait until it's all done. :)
Going to SAM's some time today, will probably end up going to Home Depot at some point today to pick up our floor tile. I've still got to watch Men in Tree's that I didn't get to watch on Thursday night because I watched ER instead. We might meet up with our neighbor for dinner, but that's not set in stone yet. Not much else.
Hope you all have a great day!
got my table all set for the dinner party tonite..looks fantastic if i say so myself! LOL I got tickled at myself. My pottery is all mix and match and very bright jewel tones so it works well with my mardi gras table. so I was laying out the plates to make sure no two same colors were next to each other..felt like i was doing a reverse rubic's cube! LOL
just gonna finish cleaning the house, just bathrooms and vacumning. our 'new' couch looks so great! can't remember if i mentioned this. good friends of ours were getting a new couch and i asked what they were doing with their old one and offered to buy it. and they gave it to us!!! a beautiful camel back maroon leather couch!!! FREE!!!!!!
Can't beat a free couch. I want a new living room suit when we move or to at least get mine reupholstered (but they say that is just as expensive as buying a new set). I really don't care because I love my couch and it's still got another 10 years at least left in it. I'm just so over the fabric right now.
It's a camel back sofa with rolled padded arms and a single cushion. The single cushion is what I'm having a hard time finding unless it's more of a Victorian sofa. There is a Nebraska Furniture in KC so that will be the first place I look for one.
I'm not sure what's on tap for today. I know that dh is going to be doing alot of yard work that needs to be done. Cleaning the porches, siding and garage. It's going to be beautiful tomorrow. Wish I could help, but I'm going to have to be content to sit back and supervise with tea in hard. Life's just so unfair when you're on the mend. I really wouldn't mind a little yard work though, reminds me that Spring is on the way!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank goodness it's Saturday. I got hit by the ds's cold and feel like I've been in a knock-down, drag-out fight. Ds2 was up most of the night again, crying, but not able to tell us why (he's not real coherent in the middle of the night). Finally he said his cheek hurt, and then his ear. :( Same ear that was infected a couple of weeks ago. I put the numbing drops in his ear and gave him Tylenol and that helped. So... we're off to clinic as soon as they open.
Ds1 is 12 today. :yippee: :bawling: I have mixed emotions, lol. We're going to CE Cheese's in Tucson and having cake and ice cream tonight w/the grandparents.
I'd rather crawl back in bed, lol.
Hope ya'll have a great Saturday. :)
DD has basketball practice this morning, DS has a friend coming over today...laundry, house work....DH and I are planning on going out for dinner tonight, not sure if kids are going? ;)
I am looking forward to just puttering around the house today...
tomorrow is jammed with BB events, Finals for dd awards parties for dd and ds...DD has been asked to join the traveling team, she and her team with play for three more weeks. She and all the girls are so excited.
Ann-the table sounds pretty.
Kat-tea and being able to just supervise sounds wonderful
Pam-12  how do they get to be so old so fast....
Diane-your taking before and after photos of this bathroom right?

Diane-your taking before and after photos of this bathroom right?
Me not taking before/after pictures? 8o LOL Dh is constantly teasing me for all the pictures I take. :)
Kat, if you have a good well made sofa, it's not necessarily cheaper to buy a new one. Most couches need 10-15 yards of fabric. You can get $40 a yard fabric for $600..that's about the cheapest I have ever seen a sofa and I am not real sure how well made they are. My friend who just got the new one (now granted it's a sectional) but it was full priced at $4800 and she managed to get it for almost half price.

I can't believe they gave the couch to you... FREE... 8o What nice friends........ :)
Ann, the couch and the dinner table sound fantastic. I haven't set my dinner table yet! In fact, I haven't done anything yet for my dinner party tonight. Might go see my Dad at the Legion this aft with a sister and her dh...he said another BIL was taking him out there.
I just woke up from a long nap and I feel like I could sleep some more. I'm going to make dinner instead.
Ann- the table sounds beautiful. Have fun tonight.
Bev- have fun with your company tonight too.
Pam- hope ds 1 has a GREAT birthday and ds2 feels better.
Kat- you sound like you are feeling better.

The table sounds pretty, Ann (do you have Fiestaware?)
Take it easy, Kat!
Happy Birthday to your ds, Pam!
Love the glasses in the other thread, Renee!
Garage door guy just left (he repaired the opener).
Locksmith coming to make me a key for my car.
Washing baby clothes, working on Bridget's room.
I have to start preparing for my surgery tomorrow by starting to take some chewable antacids before meals. Dh leaves tomorrow on a business trip and he and my mom get here (different times) on Tuesday night. Need to be at the hospital at 5:30 Wednesday morning. Getting nervous! Had my last OB/GYN prenatal appointment yesterday. Time is just FLYING by!

Was I skimming and missed something about the opener and your key??

I lost my only key to my car. Nissan told me I'd be looking at $300+ labor to get it re-keyed. However, I called a locksmith who told me that because my car is older ('96), it doesn't have a chip in the key, so I'm now looking at $65! (And if I were resourceful enough to remove the trunk lock and take it to him, it would have been a lot cheaper.) Thank goodness!
The garage door opener needed a transmission. The piano store guy just called and he's going to pick up the pianos on Monday so I can get the bookcases out of the baby's room. (I'm FINALLY nesting at 4 days to go! LOL!)
I will email you. Is your email address the same as it was a couple of years ago?
Oh! One more thing! WE NO LONGER HAVE A ROOMMATE!!! He left yesterday! :yippee: :yippee: :yippee: Going to clean that room for my mom!

Oh Ann, have a fun time! Love the sound of the sofa! We got a sofa and chair that exact same way; just goes to show ya, it pays to ask for what you want! :)
Mickey, how exciting!! Is your dh so very excited too? I'm sure your mom can't wait to get there and I'm sure ds is beside himself with g'ma and baby sister coming! What an exciting time! How come the antacids?
Bev, enjoy the dinner tonight! You much be a more laid back hostess than I am. I hate the way I get all wound up when people come over. I told mom last week before dinner w/the minister that I so wish I wasn't like this. (I came by it rightly though... she's the same way).
Dd is off to a b'day party and won't be home til 11:30 tomorrow morning! We are headed out to run little piddly errands and then having dinner with friends who we used to go out with every weekend before we started having kids. It'll be so fun! :)

Ugh... I get the same way. Nobody wants (or should) come anywhere near me when were entertaining. I get so wound up and up tight... just until everything is done and were all ready to sit down to the table. Then I'm still not totally happy until everything is stacked off the table, dishes are all done... and were all just sitting/visiting. (or better yet when they're walking out the door... LOL) I don't know where I got it from because my mom was always so good about entertaining. Nothing seemed to phase her... and I so wish I was more like that. I'd love to entertain more but this is one of the reasons why I really don't like/want to. (I still do but I have to force myself to do it) Glad I'm not the only one......

OMG... $300+, that's just outragious. I hope my dh never looses the key to his car. :( Glad to hear you're car is older and you won't have to pay as much. (but still... $65.00  ) Good to hear you finally got rid of your house guest... none too soon, huh? LOL Only four day's to go... :yippee: I'll bet your entire family is so excited. :) You're definitely going to have to let us know when it happens. :)

Ugh... if I had to do that every weekend I wouldn't look forward to my weekends anymore. LOL IMO... I'd much rather be the one invited and bringing something than to be the one hosting. :) You're a much better person than I am.......
DD's practice was great...we had a parent meeting and we all agreed to pass on the travel team...long story, but its a good thing...
DD wants to have her bff come stay over night next weekend...she has missed her weekends... Took DS over to Target to get some pants while DD was practicing...well this kid will not wear his pants around his belly, says it itchs him...argh......so we compromised..got 4 pairs of athletic style pants, and one pair of jeans...new underware....he was such a pill....argh and he isn't even a teen yet....:tearhair:
I stopped on the way home and got Carl's Jr. (hamburger chain here) they have fried zuccini that I like...now I am waiting for the kids friends to come over, Iv'e got my laundry started...just plan on puttering around....
It's 82 degrees out...beautiful weather...I have all the windows open

I do too!!! I just get so obsessed with details that I irritate myself. LOL
If that makes any sense at all.
I'd love to have people over all the time. Maybe I need to do it more so I'll realize it doesn't have to be perfect.

Well I can't say I'm THAT way at all. I love having people here and hate to have the evenings end. And we won't touch a dish until everyone has left... that's not important to us.
My anxiety is only until they first get here. I get real hung up on "first impressions are everything" and "you only get ONE chance to make a good first impression". Once everyone's here, I'm fine. :)
I don't get quite as tight-a$$ed when dh's family is coming, b/c they've been here so often; it's more comfortable for me.

I feel the same way!!! I get all worked up before my guests arrive...and once they are here, I'm just all about having a fun time, and making sure they are, too. LOL I don't worry about the dishes at all...gosh, most times not even until the next morning! The most I do (when guests are here) is clear the table and put leftovers into the fridge.
I don't LOVE to have company....but I certainly don't dread it! Most of the people we have over are used to "us"...and I don't have to put on appearances, I guess.
