I must have died when I went to bed last night. Went to sleep around 10:30 and didn't wake up till 5:45. Now that is unusual for me. I do have a stiff neck though so I must have not moved. I have absolutely nothing on my agenda today. Yeah! The house is clean, the carpets are shampooed, the yard is done, the siding is washed, the kitchen is restocked, ds has nothing on his schedule either. What will I do? I'm thinking about doing some scrapebooking and just putting on another pot of coffee and reading.

MM! I have to go food shopping. We have been eating take out for about a week or so now.

I have class today and a lab. We got our first exam back yesterday. I earned an 84. Not so hot, but it was my first test in Spanish and I did have some trouble with vocabulary. On the up side, only 3 others in the class did better. :-).
I have to work on my paper on the impact the Navy's bombing is having on the ecosystem in Vieques today as well. Anyone want to help ? lol

We had the landsacpers here yesterday remove 2 trees off the property and naturally there are leaves and almonds all over still so the kids and I will rake them up later today when the sun begins to go down.

The new puppy klled 3 male chicks this morning. I thought HH was going to explode. The pup is a Lab and it's natural for them to hunt. But dito, the poor chicks didn't even have a chance.

No beach time for me today. tomorrow either....:-(. Ciao ßß!

When I woke up to get dh off to work I had a terrible back ache. I tried to go back to sleep but instead someone calls at 7 AM! :{ It was an older guy that bought dh's pickup wanting the extra set of keys. (We gave those to the dealer when we traded). I suppose he had probably been up for quite a while and didn't think it was that early. I personally don't call people until after 9 unless I know for certain I won't be waking anyone up.

Today I have Bible school again. I'm doing the daycare room. My house is a mess, laundry needs done, Avon calls need to be made, among a million other things to do.

Kat, since you don't have anything on your agenda can I give you some of mine? LOL

Yikes, about the chickens, Arianna. Good luck on your paper!!

I hate early phone callers too Linda.

Not much on for me. The kids are totally wiped out. DS learned you can't burn the candle at both ends without consequences yesterday..Monday he went to a slumber party and stayed up till 2, then he was up for swimming at 8, then had a swim party for 2 hours...and then the meet last night. He was exhausted and almost falling apart! My housekeeper is here this am, so the kids are asleep on the playroom floor! LOL We are going to swim practice and then just gonna have a lazy day.

We have been having some icky weather since last night. It's really dark, lots of rain, thunder and lightning. :nervous: I hope to head to the library this morning with dks and then run a few errands that I planned on doing yesterday. A friend and her dd stopped over, so we went to the park instead and then had lunch. It's the friend who recently miscarried, so it was a nice surprise to see her at my door. We had a good talk this wknd and again yesterday. Not much else is on our agenda for today. If the weather clears up my family will be in town tonight for BMX bike races.

arianna - Sounds like you did well on your first test! :yippee:

kat - Enjoy your day with no cleaning! :D I had a stiff neck for about 4 days last week! :grimace: Hope yours is feeling better soon!

Linda - I also don't call anyone until after 9. My best friend used to always call me at the crack of dawn in high school and could never understand why I wasn't up like her at 6 on wknds!! LOL!!

Ann - No fair!! I want your house cleaner!!! I thought it would be easier to keep up with dh home, but it is actually worse! :tearhair: What was I thinking?? LOL!

We had a really bad storm last night... lots of rain, loud crashing thunder and lightning... it kept me awake half of the night so now I'm REALLY tired. :) It's suppose to clear up a little later so I'm hoping I'll be able to get the dck's back outside. I bought them a little swimming pool and they've been spending the majority of their day in there. They just seem to LOVE the water. LOL

arianna - Congratulations on doing so well on your first test. :yippee: Sorry to hear about your chickens... :(

kat - I hope you enjoy your day! I wish I was all caught up on all of my stuff... :D Must be a lot going on with stiff necks lately... dd woke up last week with one that lasted her about 2 days. :grimace: I hope that yours is feeling better real soon.

Linda - I know what you mean about those early (or too late) phone calls. I never call anyone until after 9 in the mornings or after 10:00 in the evenings. I couldn't BELIEVE my dd called me Monday night at 11:45 and woke me up. Ugh!!! It's always so hard getting back to sleep.

Ann - I SO envy you with your housekeeper... I think that would be so nice. Of course, it would help if my own kids... who are plenty old enough to clean up after themselves would actually do it... :) Ugh!!!

I'm also waiting to hear from my mom/dad... My dad hasn't been doing too well. Lately it seems like if it's not my mom... it's my dad. He's a diabetic but has been on the oral pill for YEARS. Last week when he went in they decided that starting on the 20th he'll have to start giving himself the shot. Also... at the same time the heart medication that he's been taking for the past 16 years has suddenly decided to start irritating the heck out of his stomach, so now they've put him on the patch instead, which has helped except that he still has absolutely no appetite... He's also got a bad hihadal (spelling is WAY off... I know LOL) hernia which has suddenly decided to startacting up too... and is giving him a LOT of trouble. He's ALWAYS freezing cold and shivering even when it's really hot/humid outside... headaches, backaches... and my mom say's that he's lethargic but yet has a hard time sleeping at night and is up most of the night. Ugh!!! I worry so much about them all the time... sometimes I wonder just how much more I can handle... Having elderly parents can be so stressful. When were young they worry and take care of us... and when they get old it's our turn to worry and take care of them. :) It's hard/sad to watch/see them going through so much. :(

Anyway... I hope you all have a GREAT day... I can't believe it's Wednesday already! :)

Diane...

I can totally relate with elderly parents - I don't get to see mine that often, but my mom is always telling my about my dad not doing so well, she thinks he's getting alzheimers too.
I find it very had to see my dad failing, and not being able to do anything about it

I get to check in here again. How exciting. I knew if I told you girls I had nothing to do today, you'd inlist my help. Sorry but all I can offer is moral support over the net.

Everyone take pleasure in the moment.

Diane. Hope things get back on track with your dad. My mom is also diabetic. For years she managed with diet restrictions, then oral meds, now she gives herself shots twice a day. Unfortunately she now does not monitor her diet like she should. Example yesterday afternoon she checked her sugar and was upset that it had gone up over 230. She blamed it on the milk. My sister told me she had a piece of cake with the milk. What are you to do. They raise you, then you have to turn around and raise them.

So sorry to hear about your dad. My fil is a diabetic and it's a horrible and hard disease to manage.
Has his blood pressure been checked lately? Those symptoms sound alot like low blood pressure..they are also the symptoms of low blood sugar too. Does he have a home monitor? My fil has to monitor his blood about 6 times a day now cause it fluctuates so much.
Hang in there sweetie..I know how rough it is.

Kat, fil drinks scotch "cause it has no sugar in it"..uh hello?? what does it do once it hits your system???? grrrrr

Sorry to hear what you are going through with your Dad. Diabetes can be a hard thing to live with. My father was also diabetic. He had been taking the shots since he was about 21. (once a day). I remember several times as a child, when his blood sugar would get low and he would go into reaction. Luckly we caught it before it went to far, but it was very scary for a kid to see. He would get very stubborn and refuse to eat or drink anything for anyone. We soon learned a way around him though, My mom would just tell me to give whatever it was (usually orange juice with a little sugar stirred into it) to him and he would take it from me, just not anyone else. If he gave me a hard time I would just sit down beside him and make myself cry and then he would drink it. In about a minute or two he would be back to his old self again.

Your fathers other symptoms sound like it could be low blood pressure or iron to me. hopefully the doctors will figure out what is going on.
Take care!
